  1. You want all that stuff at a price point that will sell (otherwise it won't be made) and it's not going to happen. Sorry, jus' saying'. A. Nice dream, but the cost will be too high I bet. B. Helix is their pro line. Period. There already is perfectly great stuff for "non-pro" use. C. Adding something as fiddly as USB to a product like this adds cost that only seven people want. D & E. The number of people who are clamoring to connect both a computer and tablet at the same time is... well... other than you... I haven't heard anybody ask. Sorry, too specialized.
  2. Yup, I've seen this, but not lately. Here's a thing to try. After fixing the issue, save the patch to a different location and then back again.
  3. Interesting.. but... A. This would add too much cost relative to the number of people who want it. B. Built-in receivers on pro gear are never going to happen, for many reasons already discussed. C. Sorry, this makes no sense on a piece of music gear. There are too many other ways to do this. D. This is not a horrible idea. But again, not enough need or want or will pay for it. E. I think this is probably wanted by only 7 people in the world, so it's not worthwhile to build in the box. Helix and Rack and Helix LT are only at the price they are because they sell in the thousands or tens of thousands. A product that sells in the hundreds is never going to be practical for a large company to make, unless they can charge exorbitant prices for it. Line 6 can't do that.
  4. I'll I'll look when I get home, but I am fairly sure this works for me.
  5. It's built like a tank. Worry less about it. Yes, there will be a few problems out there, but that's a few out of thousands.
  6. I saw this a lot on early beta builds. Try this. Download the file rather than letting the updater do it, and then use "local file" to install. For me, that always did the trick, although I haven't experienced this in over a year I don't think.
  7. The article in my signature has a few video examples, and for each of them, there is a patch you can download, if not on the article page, at the youtube link. Normally at both I think.
  8. generally, this should be true. But the acoustic amp model in the Line 6 HD 500 vintage expansion pack was actually fantastic with acoustic guitar and I no longer needed to use my outboard acoustic preamp anymore. That said... the IR solution is, imho, about a zillion times better anyway.

    New Reverbs?

    beta tester since December 2015.
  10. My own are super esoteric and maybe not helpful. But dial up those blocks, First select the 3 Sigma IR that sounds best by itself. set a lo cut in the IR block to about 90 or 100hz, and set the level to -6db set the Tube Pre to gain 3.0, level 10, sensitivity line Leave the LA Studio comp at defaults but turn peak reduction down to about 7 maybe Set the parametric EQ to boost around 200hz just a teeny bit (I do 2db), cut midfreq at 2.7k just -2db, and boost7.5k about 3.5db. Leave the Q alone in all three bands except turn the high Q down to about 0.1 See if that works.
  11. If you have a metal zone, try this. guitar into metal zone into Helix... into SV Beast Normal (or bright). into 8x10 SV Beast cabinet. I'm not even kidding. I don't know that it's a USABLE sound... but it's really interesting. We tried this years ago in a music store I worked in with a real SVT and a Metal Zone and some super-start and couldn't believe how amazing it sounded.

    New Reverbs?

Pretty much everything but the reverbs that is in there were new HX FX. The Verbs that were ported over are, imho, just peachy, and I still like them a lot. The new HX verbs are very cool, too.
  13. I only use clean to mid-gain, so maybe that's why I find no real problem with the noise gate myself.
  14. I doubt it. I used to love the acoustic guitar amp in the upgrade for HD 500, but my current Acoustic IR->Studio Tube Pre->LA Studio Comp->Parametric EQ is about a million times better sounding.
  15. I would think you could fix what you need with EQ and get closer than you could making your own IR. But who knows?!?!? That ToneDexter looks amazing. For me, I'm so deliriously happy with the 3 Sigma Gibson, Taylor and especially Martin IR that I just don't even hunt for anything new anymore.
  16. If you're trying to plug Helix into the front of an amp and change the sound of that amp so it sounds more like a model in Helix... that will disappoint nearly every time. If you are using Helix as FX only into the front end of an amp it might be fun, but even then, I think it's way overkill and there are better choices. 4 cable method or FRFR are a different story. And, also, it's not the best choice for everyone!
  17. What, exactly, are you running your Helix into?
  18. Is it before the amp, too? IT's one of those "should always be first" FX
  19. Yup. This is why there will, I hope, never be wireless built-in to a pro-level box.
  20. But you don't want built-in wireless on a high-end modeler. Bad idea.
  21. Turn headroom on the Adriatic delay all the way up. Also, put the pitch shift before the delay if it isn't already. pitch shift after delay is going to be a real problem.
  22. Could be even more. In any case it’s not coming very soon...
