  1. I think there's a real market for something like this, myself. M9 chassis or similar size. Maybe a touch smaller if possible. Just one path. Limited amps is okay, but probably not necessary to save money. No IR loading if that saves any money. limited display. Only one in, TRS balanced 1/4" outs, maybe one loop but seriously, not even that. Headphone output. ONE EXP jack.
  2. We'll get the new update as soon as you nail the Andy Summers tone with what you have now.
  3. The tone sounds fine I guess. It's your tone that's always been the issue.
  4. Oh, ok. Yes, I have those. And yes, they are amazingly awesome.
  5. Here’s what I do. I set the big knob on my Rack to control XLR volume, and send that to my on-stage monitor, so I can control that volume quickly. I set the 1/4†outputs to have NO attenuation from any on-board controls. I send that to a DI to the board. You can do something similar.
  6. Really good guidelines to start right there...
  7. If it's an EFFECT, that's a different thing. Small rooms have a cool vibe, add a long hall reverb to your acoustic sound and you kill the small room vibe imho.
  8. I never use reverb on a guitar tone to add ambiance live. Ever. Recording? Every time, but live? No. I DO use reverb as special effects for schmaltz (especially particle and octo, my two favorite FX in the box. I will also use spring verb so it sounds like an amp's spring verb. But ambiance as in hall or plate or room verb? Never. Ever. Why? Your room you play in HAS reverb. Just use that.
  9. They are extraordinary. You can also get part of the way there with a POG 2. Works very well.
  10. I was shocked that I liked the Litigator and the HiWatt and the /13, not amps I'd probably dig in the real world. I was REALLY shocked how much I like the Soldano. I was less surprised by the cabs I ended up liking best (I only use 4 in the whole box, but love love love love love them... Z, 4x10 and the two Matchless, better for me than any 3rd party IR I tried early on, so I just gave up on IR for cabs.).
  11. Whenever I get a new amp modeler (I've owned several since the original POD), I always notice that the best sounding factory presets are the ones that I created for my use with my guitar and my playing... which... ...wait a minute... I didn't make any of those... uh... never mind...
  12. i'm sure they will expend SOME... but... especially with the occasional flakey USB implementations in different computers... there's only so much... now if it's a current model, I'd think it's very different, yes.
  13. What I'd like to know if guitar speakers don't put out above 5K at all... why when I used to mic guitar cabinets (for DECADES by the way) did I find frequency information up in that 5K - 10K range? Because... (wait for it...) IT IS THERE! (recording engineer, both amateur and occasionally pro, for 30 years...)
  14. I am very sorry to disagree, but you are incorrect. http://www.aikenamps.com/index.php/frequency-response-of-a-marshall-4x12-cabinet That's just one example. Significant frequencies all the way up to 10K and some beyond that less significant.
  15. Others have as well, and dispute your conclusion... jus' saying'...
  16. Not sure I agree... I've heard some nasty high frequencies and high harmonics coming out of real guitar amp speaker cabinets (and the rooms and mikes involved), though. Some make it to record. Sometimes, in the mix, they sound great.
  17. Yes, it works great. Check it out here. The guitars were recorded direct, using Helix Native and IR from 3 Sigma Audio. The bass was also, also using the 3 Sigma Acoustic bass IR. In fact, the vocal was recorded using the Helix as an interface, but no Helix Native or Helix FX. Recorded in Logic Pro X. Enjoy. Click here. Or this.
  18. Well, the Police are retired, so maybe he's done with them...
  19. All you need to get all the way there is Andy Summers' hands. Simple, really.
  20. There are ways to do it with EQ, comp, tube preamp model and an acoustic IR that are way better than any other simulator like the AC 3 I've encountered.
