Ooooo. That sounds promising. I find myself wanting to use the editor without turning Helix on often. But if it's too much work for your team, and costs development in other areas, I'd be the first to say drop the idea. It'd be a nice feature to have, but completely unnecessary. On the other hand, if you were to drop that next amp you guys are working on...

You're right. It's not a big deal either way. I'm just wondering what makes a volume, wah, or pitch block unique enough to have automatic assignments? It also kind of implies that these blocks should only be used in one specific way, that is manual control by expression pedal. I get it that this is the most obvious method of control for these blocks, and the one that most people use (maybe this is the reason?). When a chorus, reverb, phaser, et al. block is added, there is no automatic switch assignment, and none of their parameters are automatically assigned to anything.

Yep, you're right, it still does glitch.

I'm on PC, but it should be no different on a mac. In the editor, it's pretty much just clicking, holding, and dragging with the mouse. So if you want to create a new path, drag a block down and you'll see a new path outlined to where you can place it. A mix and merge block is created as well. Moving the mix and merge blocks is done the same way as any other block.
-
As a possible workaround, if you have a parallel path available for the delay/reverb, always leave the delay/reverb turned on, and don't worry about the trails parameter. If you want them turned off, change the A/B path split instead to enable/disable the reverb/delay. Or something along these lines. Or maybe this scheme would produce the same glitches your hearing. I haven't tried it.

+1 to what gunpointmetal said. It can be done in realtime as well. On the rare occasion I actually look for an IR to use, I use Reaper's built in ReaVerb. Once you have a file selected and set a couple of parameters, all you have to do is hit the up/down arrow on the keyboard to cycle through every IR in a folder. You could use Helix as well by loading a bunch of IRs and cycle through them while playing using pedal edit mode. Then when you find some you like, put those IRs off to the side somewhere, clear the IRs in Helix, and repeat for another batch.

It's happened to me just recently. It was with 2.10.0. It's concerning when stuff like that happens (I'm reminded of the way Elon Musk looks when he's watching one of his rocket launches/landings. Lol). Not sure at all what the cause was. It's happened several times over the slightly more than a year since I've had Helix. As long as it looks like everything is still working after a power cycle, I wouldn't worry about it.

1. select the wah 2. menu 3. bypass assign 4. select desired expression controller or variax controller 5. change position and wait how you want to affect auto activation
-
I get the same unreliability as soundog with 2.11.0.

You must have pretty good eyesight to be able to read just about everything on a 4k monitor without some kind of assistance. In Windows 10 you can right click the desktop -> display settings -> advanced sizing of text and other items. There's a bunch of stuff in there to fiddle around with.

I suspect what he might be thinking is to simply (or maybe it's not so simple) add a scale parameter to the reverse delay.

While that's true, there's also nothing wrong at all with a little fun competition/comparison, where the ultimate goal is not winning.

I haven't looked recently, but did they fix the non-functioning CC64? I remember it being broken with either 2.10.0 or the version before that.

What I don't get, is why are there defaults in the first place? None of the switches are assigned defaults. What if someone likes EXP1 for volume and EXP2 for wah or pitch? Now the defaults get in the way. Or what if you want a volume, wah, or pitch block with no expression controller so that something else on the expression controllers don't get screwed up? The defaults get in the way. Obviously the defaults can easily be unassigned or changed. But why is Line 6 guiding people's hands for the expression controllers, but not other physical controls?

If all you want to do is sync with a DAW, sending two snapshot changes from the DAW seems to work. The first snapshot should be something other than what you want, the second is the one you want. Also, not sure if it's necessary, but I have the global setting, "Tempo Select" set to Per Snapshot. As an alternative, sending a preset change from the DAW might also work. This isn't entirely true. Digital Igloo became very uncharacteristically very specific recently:

I would agree that it's unexpected behavior. Or if it's not, the spread should do something even if modulation of off, cause sometimes modulation sucks.
-
You have to turn the mode to something other than off. Either chorus or vibrato.

Not that I know about. I think it's probably a hardware problem that can't be fixed. :(

1) Yes. It's simple and there's no clutter. 2) Another interface would be redundant. Helix has 8 inputs and outputs via USB. Monitoring can be done directly from Helix's array of outputs. But there's nothing preventing you from using another interface either. 3 & 4) I can't say anything about Eleven Rack or the GT-100. But Helix can do quite well with cleans, ambients, and both at the same time. As far as core tones, anything you can imagine, Helix can likely duplicate, and easily too. However, currently, Helix does lack some effects in the filter category. It does have a couple of autowahs, another filter similar to an autowah, and a 3 OSC synth. It also currently lacks an auto-volume. The rest of the effects categories are pretty well covered. There have been rumors on some forums of some really nice stuff coming next year sometime in an update. By stuff, I would take that to mean more than just added effects and amps, but functional additions.

I wonder if something is getting messed up during the preset conversion process. For example, I have been using the same preset for some time now, not changing anything on it for a long time. It uses IR slot 5. However, when I first constructed the patch a while ago, the IR slot it used was 15. Today (the first time I looked at this preset since updating to 2.11) I noticed that the IR slot changed back to 15, no apparent reason. I did backup the setlist this preset is in right before flashing to 2.11. So maybe something similar happened to your presets, just not with IRs.

As others above have mentioned, the only way to do what you want is to get another HD device (usb device in your nomenclature). I'm not positive about this, but if there are any POD HD Beans still floating around for purchase, that might do what you want for fairly cheap. They sometimes go on sale too.

Similar to how some folks view the behavior of the tuner since it was redone, how about making a DSP meter that's jumpy, and possibly even introduce some ambiguous inaccuracy.

Lucky for me you mentioned this. I decided to take a look and somewhere along the way I made a mistake because of this. One of my lead tones was using a couple of incorrect IRs. Oops. I tried using the filename numbering scheme after this discovery, and while it sort of works, I was getting some files where the number prefix was being dumped, and others weren't. I finally found out that IRs with a Title metadata tag were the ones with the prefix being dumped. Also, the file manager I was using, xyplorer, seems to mess the order up, when dragging and dropping. On Windows 10, the built in file explorer doesn't seem to have this problem. To have all the numbered prefixes dumped upon import, so as to have longer, more descriptive names, I used a metadata program (such as TagScan) to copy the filename (without the numbered prefix) to the Title metadata tag. Then I batch renamed the files to have a numbered prefix, 001 to xxx, in the order I wanted them. So now on import I have predictable names (with no wasted characters on prefix numbers), predictable order, and slot-preset connection retained. And when I want to add more IRs later on, nothing will get messed up as long as I tack them on the end of the list. Maybe this info will help others, I don't know. But Line 6 should really figure something out for this that's much simpler, and automated.
