  1. I have had issues with putting HD500 patches onto an HD500X. One thing that seemed to work (mostly) was hitting the save button on the unit itself. Once you've created a patch in Edit, don't SEND it. Use the save button on the unit. Even that doesn't always work.
  2. So if you don't feel like plowing through all 20+ pages of posts in this thread, I have. I have condensed these to these two documents. They also include posts from another related thread #1 is the possible causes. #2 is the possible solutions. If you don't want to read those, here are my conclusions from these threads. The piezos in the JTV's are very sensitive. Definitely more than the original Variaxs. So they are very susceptible to any extraneous noise the guitar can make. Trem spring vibration, vibration of the strings behind the nut and/or bridge, string buzz due to poor guitar setup, etc. Anything that can create a vibration other than the actual "pure" string, can cause the Plng/Clang issue. That's why there are a lot of "dampen this" solutions. But you need to throw in a software issue or two as well and I would say that sums up what's going on. The mechanical cause does not appear to always be the cause. Even Line 6 seems to agree and here is Line 6's last statement on this. It is post #746 in this thread. As it stands, we have yet to find a single root cause for this phenomenon. Due to a variety of reasons, we were unfortunately forced to deprioritize our research into this issue. We will report any pertinent findings at a later date. We encourage anyone experiencing trouble with their Line 6 gear to reach our support team at www.Line6.com/support/tickets.
  3. Half past impossible...Hmmmmmmmmm...Well I think I'm going to be late. Don't wait for me! I once went vegan. Grew my own vegetables but I fertilized it naturally with fish and poop from a meat eating animal so I got conflicted and went right back to steak. :o
  4. No I didn't! Whooops! But don't bother me with dates and numbers. I must post!!!!!!
  5. Perhaps you should start with their patches. Here's Sean Halley's patches on Customtone http://line6.com/customtone/profile/seanhalley/1/?sort=posted&sort_dir=desc&search_term= And here's a bunch of Paul's patches on his own website. http://www.paulhindmarshmusic.com/line-6
  6. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that ain't going to happen. But...would you, Line 6, be willing to "hire" someone that would be willing to do it non gratis i.e. free? It sounds like you could find several candidates on this forum.
  7. I don't know if you noticed but the font this post was made in is a smaller font than what's normally here. Just a little ironic given the comments on the size of Edit. I thought it was funny, not a character flaw.
  8. I think it would be easier to find a used HD500, put it into the FX loop and control it via the MIDI output of your current HD500. Although as I recall, the HD500 don't have a lot of MIDI options.
  9. No. The Pod before this had that. You could freeze one of the stereo outputs at a certain level (XLR or 1/4") and the other would be controlled by the master. A VERY convenient tool not in the HD. I wolud like it a lot. I think I put it in idea scale.
  10. If you're using the HD500 to get to the first guitar then you set your Variax with the knob on the model type and the switch ONE click/switch away from the model you want to switch to in the middle of the song. If you want to switch back, I would put both guitars in one of the Custom banks, right next to each other so you're just one click away from the next guitar. So, for example, you'd put your Les Paul bridge on Custom 1-1 and your Strat bridge on Custom 1-2. There, one click away.
  11. Yes, click and drag. I do it all the time.
  12. Whew!!!! I was feeling your pain for awhile. Glad it's OK. And another +1 on keeping the guitar in standard tuning. Custom tunings work best with that.
  13. A LOT of people see it differently than you. I see the HD500 as an opportunity to get almost the same quality of sounds with a bit more effort at a relatively very good price. If anything the HD500 needs someone with MORE knowledge of a good sound (i.e. serious amateurs and pros) to get a good sound out of it. It sounds less refined, more raw, to me.
  14. I know they've pretty much bailed on the HD500 BUT I do wish they would at least have HD Edit convert all of those ^^^(%^&%$$%&%^&*(^&*(^%^&$& percentages to dB and Hz and whatever else. I have an extremely rudimentary background in programming but from what I know, I don't think it would be that hard to edit the code in HD Edit to do that. I know the actual unit won't get that but putting it in HD Edit would be a fantastic compromise for all of us Line 6 supporters. VOTE FOR LINE 6. Remember the Fractal E-mail and fraudulent charity scandals!!!! Although I guess it won't matter since the whole thing is fixed anyway. (This is meant to be merely a non partisan joke. Don't get upset).
  15. WHAT? No MIDI ports? Wow. That seems like an odd design choice. Boy, I can't think of any solution other than Line changing something then.
  16. One thought about hooking them up depends on how Helix works. I'm assuming you can put each of the FX sends on the Helix anywhere in the chain. If that's true, you could put a send right after the input and plug that send into the instrument input (or where ever you plug your guitar in) of the Axe FX. Now you essentially have each unit working completely by themselves with the same guitar. If you want to use only one pedal to control everything, connect them using the MIDI. Now you have 4 master(?) outputs 2 for each device. Of course you could just hook each one up to a mixer/PA, Or to a small mixer and use it's outputs to feed the mixer/PA. Or the outputs of one into the FX returns of the other. Really, since there are so many possible options available, you need to come up with exactly how you would like them to interact with each other sound and control wise. Then figure out how to connect them using all of the options available. I'll bet you could come close to what you want. If not exactly what you want.
  17. However it all works out, I would be curious what your opinion will be after time. I can already hear the keyboards clacking so before you post, let me say this guy does seem to be genuine and not some kind of troller. And, yes, we all know, it is JUST his opinion. Based on his other posts I've seen, he doesn't seem to have a bias (yet ;) ). He just seems to be looking for good tones, like we all are, and, I think, is looking for something that would have the pluses that each of them have. So after 6 months to a year, I'd be curious as to what he thinks. Is it actually worth having both, or would one do it? Back to the OP, so after 6 months to a year, tell us (me) what you think. As for me, I'm going Helix no matter what. Just trying to come up with the bones.
  18. Won't an M-Audio Uno work? http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Uno?adpos=1o1&creative=55226096281&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&product_id=Uno&gclid=CP-6tpq-j9ACFU9bhgodTOAEJw
  19. I just found this. Plug specs are correct but I don't know if the center is + or -. Haven't tried it yet https://www.savingology.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=3000mA-Adapter-Charger-EGR&click=2&gclid=CLeDwJ3PjNACFQpahgodXbcJfw
  20. If anyone sees this where you can order it in America with an "American" plug, refresh this thread and put it here. Please.
  21. Hmmmm. My experience with Sweetwater has been different. I've gotten several things from them. They all were 24 months same as cash. They were up to 36 months same as cash for awhile. I'm not sure about now And they include some candy with every delivery. Ohboy! Candy! I also had issues with one of those purchases and returned and got a new one three times with no whining. Check 'em out http://www.sweetwater.com/ (They are now at 24 months same as cash)
  22. Wait, I think you mean just the cap that tops the model selector knob. NOT the whole selector knob. I get it. Forget my advise.
  23. What would the correct pickup/string distance be for each JTV model or where can I go to get that info.
