Have you tried a different connection cable?
-
What do you mean by 'stopped'? No output? Can't change tones?
-
Yes, you need to use either the FBV MkII Express or Shortboard. If you hook up the amp's ethernet connection directly to a computer you may burn out some circuitry in the amp.

Mark II FBV Shortboard Help - Editing 'User' Presets
fflbrgst replied to MusicFox's topic in FBV Controllers (MKI / MKII / 3)
You can change the user patches using Spider Edit, or directly on the amp. The SHortboard merely acts as the interface between the computer and the amp. Suggest you read the user manual. -
As long as your Raven speaker cabinet is rated for the power, there shoudl be no issue.
-
I just clicked on the links you have and these appear to be manual patches you can save by adjusting all controls as shown, and saving them to a user location on your amp. the files are PDFs of the settings only.

Dotted 8th delay using amp effects
fflbrgst replied to Doshiegg's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
I'm not sure if you can do this with the Spider, but this web page explains how to do it: https://www.guitarchalk.com/create-dotted-eighth-note-delay-pedal-guitar-how-to-explain/ -
They are automatically downloaded to the amp when you install the Spider Infusion update - if this is a new amp, it may alreayd have this update installed. You can check by downloading Spider Monkey and having it check your amp for any needed updates.

"UP TO" seems to be the key caveat! Maybe the Line 6 people originally had plans to offer more preset banks on some future amps.

Change Banks on Express MKII with Amplifi 75
fflbrgst replied to jongerten's topic in FBV Controllers (MKI / MKII / 3)
The express only has A, B, C, D preset swtches to go between the 4 patches in a preselected bank on the Spider amps. -

home studio advice
fflbrgst replied to stevebushell's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
Sorry, I can't help you with an interface that incorporates Wah plug-in control. SInce you have good amps and and an external wah pedal, I'd always recommend miking up the amp rather than using a sim, but I understand that sometimes you want to record a dry signal or add fx to an already-recorded track. The 'echo' problem you mention is from having your direct input signal PLUS your track/FX signal in the monitor, so I'd recommend moving to an audio interface and software that allows more control and close-to-zero latency. I use Reaper DAW - free to download the full version, $60 to register it. And my interface is a Tascam US800 - but there are many very good interfaces available for under $150 if you only need a couple of inputs to record simultaneously. I usually record electric guitar by miking the amp on one track PLUS a DI feed to another track using a Radial pedal to split the guitar signal. For drumming, I am using EZDrummer 2. It allows lots of customization when laying tracks down, and with software that has a MIDI editor (like Reaper) it is infinitely adjustable. -
The presets are saved in the amp, not the Shortboard. Not sure about the '128' - the Spider IV 75 has 16 banks of 4 presets for a total of 64. I'm guessing that the Shortboard allows you to hit a switch that turns on or off one of the FX so that you have one preset with/one without.

Terrible sound quality throught headphone jack
fflbrgst replied to hellkt's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
No, the problem lies within your computer connection! The built-in soundcard is not ideal for recording, but first check your Windows settings - the line-in is probably set at 100% volume, turn it down to around 30%.- 2 replies

Midi implementation chart for Spider IV?
fflbrgst replied to edrowland's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
The Spider IV does not have MIDI implementation - what USB interface are you talking about? The FBV MkII pedal can be used for MIDI control, with the Spider amp it is used to communicate between amp and computer with Spider Edit software. -

I have heard of this before, if a factory reset does not do anything, then you will need to bring the amp to an authorized service center for evaluaiton and repair. -
A little recording problem.
fflbrgst replied to Xeonorth's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
In Reaper you need to select the HD500X as both your audio input and output device. then use the balanced or unbalanced outputs to connect to speakers, amps, etc. See section 9 of the advanced manual for more details, such as how to adjust the guitar output balanced with the computer audio. -
Spider IV 120 One Speaker Sound Low/Bad
fflbrgst replied to ojmn's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
Unfortunately, it sounds like something that would have to be looked at by an authorized service center for evaluation. -
Correct, the 15 is not able to download tones. The only pedal compatible isthe FBV MkII Express.

spiderIV75 , get shortboard or firehawk ?
fflbrgst replied to nabulaer's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
The Firehawk is a stand-alone device, but you could feed its output to your Spider amp - using it in a 'clean' mode, or even combining some sounds. But it won't act as a switchboard/controller for your amp. The looper in the SPider is very limited - time of loop, and control-wise. If you want to use a looper with true functionality, I'd recommend an external looper.- 1 reply

What DAW are you using? Are you using PF2 as a plug-in the DAW, or as the input to your DAW? -
guitar humming noise on ux1
fflbrgst replied to Duartwork's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
Thats a grounding problem for sure. First thing to try is a different guitar cable - it's possible that the gournd connection is not making a good connection in the guitar jack. Chances are, though, there is a loose wire in the guitar causing the problem. -
If you had the full version of PF2 on your old computer, you need to use the Line 6 License Manager to access, download and install everything on your new computer.
