I need help eq'ing spider iv 150 HD with external eq
fflbrgst replied to matthewgordon1's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
Test mode basically bypasses the modeling preamp. You coudl also plug into the CD/MP3 input in the back. Note that none of the amp controls work in this mode. -

I need help eq'ing spider iv 150 HD with external eq
fflbrgst replied to matthewgordon1's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
Mud is usually defined as the 200-400Hz range. If you're using the Digitech's modeling (amp/cabinet/distortion-fuzz), then put the Spider on a Clean setting with Drive turned down. My guess is you're getting a combination of distortions (digitech X Spider) making the sound unclear -
FBV express mk2 with amplifi 75
fflbrgst replied to Trooper23's topic in FBV Controllers (MKI / MKII / 3)
This sounds like a problem with the amp, not the FBV. The FBV just sends the channel-select signal, it doesn't have any capacity to send a bank change.- 5 replies

It's in the FAQs that you need to use both outputs of the amp or an imbalance will happen - which can void any warranty. To the OP, parts are available through Line6, but if you don't know how to solder, I would suggest bringing the amp to an authorized service center.

I'd leave the EQ flat on the Digitech and amp, and just use the 7-band EQ, if you really feel the need for that much tone adjustment. -
HD500 sounding strange in computer
fflbrgst replied to rodcap78's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
Even though your Pod is the active soundcard, check your Windows sound settings - the input level may be set at 100%, turning it down to around 10% usually works. -
You can also run a line out of the Pod into the CD/MP3 input on the back panel.

Patch compatibility between Spider IV 150 and pod HD 500
fflbrgst replied to schilcur's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
I think you would also find the patches may sound significantly different between a 150 (with 4x12 cabinet?) and a 75 and would require some amount of EQ , gain and volume tweaking.- 3 replies

Spider 4 15 with a distortion pedal
fflbrgst replied to danielg999's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
It's a matter of getting your settings correct - both on the amp and on the pedal. Keep experimenting. -
problem with MKII Shortboard express
fflbrgst replied to mersus's topic in FBV Controllers (MKI / MKII / 3)
First things to check are the cable and the connectors - both the one into the FBV and the one into the amp. Check for any bent pins. -
Definitely not 'daisy chained' - the FBV MkII only has one conenction point (Cat5 to amp). I don't have a Amofi, but wiht a Spider IV, I never needed more than 4 tones for any one song (usually only 2), so would have a bank set up with the 4 tones I would need for the current song (and maybe the next one. If i needed different patches for another song, I would have those on the next bank up (or down), so easy one-button change between songs.
-
You need to adjust the channel volume for the patch to the desired level, an save it as such.

SOunds like a bad component or solder joint (but could be a processor), I'm afraid bringing it to an authorized service center would be your only solution.

Spider III 2*12 cab - mono possible?
fflbrgst replied to SomethinWild's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
You should not run the amp with speakers only plugged into one output jack. Your best bet is to find a 2x12 cabinet wiht 8 ohm speakers, then rewire it with two jacks hooked up to each speaker separately.- 1 reply

The speaker is designed to give the best representation of sounds from the modeling of the amp. Switching to a speaker designed to give a more 'guitar amp' sound (non-modeling amp) could result in less than ideal tones. Since the Vintage30 is only rated to 60watts maximum, you also have the possibility that you could damage it when the volume on the map is cranked to full. If your band is THAT loud when gigging, considering miking the amp, or go with a Spider 120 or 150.

Step on the toe (very hard) of the pedal, and it will switch between WAH and VOLUME operation.

I'm afraid this is going to have to go to the repair shop, doesnt' sound like anything you can troubleshoot at home.

Sorry, but you are mistaken on the way the looper operates on this amp. When you change the sound patch on your amp, the loop will change it's sound as well. I'm guessing you didn't realize it before you did the firmware update.

POD FARM 2 only works in standalone version - UX2
fflbrgst replied to Unpayable's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Have you installed the Line 6 drivers for the UX2? Perhaps running Monkey and checking for all updates will do it? -
Same problem as the Spider IVs. If you google it there is a youtube showing how to bypass the speaker cut-off on the Spider, I imagine this will work with the Amplifi, too - but note that it will nullify your warranty. The one issue could be that there is only one volume control, so adjusting your amp's speaker output volume will also affect the headphone output volume (potentially overdriving the PA board input), so whoever is running the board needs to adjust accordingly.

If you are trying to hear the PodFarm-modified sound as you are recording it, you need to select the track monitor in Reaper (small box with a '0' with a line through it). If you ar etyring to hear the direct input (unmodified tone) of the guitar, then you need to look at the software mixer in PodFarm - assume you are using this as stand-alone into Reaper, rather than as a plug-in in Reaper.
-
If you like the sounds you get from the amp, then no. If you want to get additional sounds, then yes.

Are you attempting to do this from Spider Monkey? That's the first thing you need to download.
