  1. Sounds like you are not using a stereo adapter. The 1/4" plug should have two black rings on it (normally called TRS - tip-ring-sleeve).
  2. I've never read about the shut off problem happening only when an FBV is plugged in. There haven't been any firmware updates for a long time, but have you used Spider Monkey to ensure you have the most-recent updates installed? Since the FBV is only a switching device, it sounds like something in the amp's circuitry is is doing it when the FBV completes a circuit - there's nothing in the FBV itself that woudl cause an amp shut down. Create a support ticket here on line6.com and see what the 'official' response is.
  3. This is the same problem I have heard regarding switching tones on the Spider amps. I never noticed it when playing live, but I never changed tones while holding notes/chords. I think you have to adjust yoru playing style/when you change patches. Its something to do with the way the internal processor loads the new patch.
  4. Are you using hte Line 6 EXP expression pedal? If so, yes. I have heard that other mfr expression pedals don't play well with the FBV.
  5. The online parts store is here however you may need to order through a UK dealer - find your closest one here
  6. Any clipping would be happening in the head itself. Are you using a guitar with active pickups (i.e. a battery in the guitar)?
  7. B = 8 ohm, as labeled on amp and speaker cabinet.
  8. Start with the clean sound on the amp, get that how you want it )pedal turned off). Then turn the pedal on and adjust the pedal (not amp) settings. You may find that the pedal does NOT give you the sound you are looking for by itself (in which case you have to compromise between amp clean and distorted settings.)
  9. The easiest way to do this is to plug the output of the HD300 into the CD/MP3 input on the back of the Spider amp. This bypasses all the preamp circuitry of the amp.
  10. Until my internal soundcard died, that's how I used my equipment - the default deriver and device was the internal card. When I wanted to use my monitors and audio interface, I had to go into the internal settings and change it, but in Reaper (my DAW), the audio interface was set as the default, so as long as it was turned on and plugged in, it worked for monitoring without changing the internal settings - in fact I was able to use them both at the same time - playing internet sounds through the internal soundcard and computer speakers, and DAW sound through the interface and monitors.
  11. There have been no PodFarm updates since the Infusion update, can't see any changes happening in the future. Will have to see what Yamaha/L6 have in mind for the future - there are a lot of amp sims out there now with very good sounds and I think L6 has to step up their game if they want to remain in this field.
  12. The cabinet should have two input jacks, make sure you connect both the left and right amp outputs to the cabinet (using speaker cables, not instrument cables) - connecting only one will imbalance the amp and eventually cause damage.
  13. The Spider IV 15 (and 30) does not have a distortion FX. If the 'drive' control does ntodo anything (try all 4 presets), you can first try a factory reset - hold the 'A' button in while turning on the poower, kep it held in for 5-10 seconds. If that doesn't fix it, then you should return the amp to the place you bought it for repleacement (15s can't be repaired).
  14. You don't have a 'Clean' button on the Spider IV 120. If you hold down the 'A' button when turning it on, you will reset all your presets to the factory conditions.
  15. Pre = before the preamp controls (drive, EQ, channel volume); Post = after the preamp controls. This affects some FX more than others. You just have to try it to hear the differences.
  16. yeah, I used a 75 with a band with drummer, two other guitarists (one who also played keys thorugh a 2nd amp), bassist and singer, and it was plenty loud enough for me - I used it for guitars (acoustic and electric) and keys. Live, we miked all amps to the PA system.
  17. Yes, but note that some sound patches (assume you are using PodFarm) will alter the sound (with EQ) so much you may not hear any wah effect wiht them.
  18. The headphone/DI output (that's what I assume you are trying to use) is not amplified - you can't use it to drive a cabinet, you would need to send that signal to an amp first.
  19. Which Spider do you have - is this a Spider Valve Mk2? hard to see in the picture. The Floorboard would not be involved in saving your patches.
  20. No, the tuner is not adjustable this way.
  21. The various FX settings are all part of each patch, again this is if you are referring to the preset patches.
  22. Try posting in the Amplifi section of these forums.
  23. Do you mean in saved patches? These all would have been reset to the factory settings when you did the factory reset.
  24. Sorry, I don't know the electronics part of it, only what the FAQs say and that many people have posted in these forums that they had a problem when not doing it correctly.
