  1. You need an FBV Express MkII pedal to connect the amp online - do not connect the amp direct to your computer! After making sure your firmware is up to date using Line 6 Monkey, you can access tones and more at Spider Online.
  2. You posted this is posted in the Spider IV section of the forums ...
  3. What do you mean 'tested the mic via USB'? What mic is it? Have you tried a different XLR-XLR cable?
  4. The Express allows you to switch between the 4 active preset locations in the amp, A,B, C or D.
  5. It is stereo. If you use a TS-TS cable, then you will only get one half the signal. If you are not running any of the stereo FX, then the left and right channel are the same, so you won't miss any part of the sound, but the output signal's volume will be lower overall (I've tried it). If you run a TRS cable to a balanced input no harm will come, but you will still only get one side of the stereo signal and will not be providing a balance signal to the PA speaker.
  6. you don't mention what DAW you are using, but in Reaper, you can select the plug-in on one track, copy it (with its settngs), then add that to a different track with 2 clicks. Change one? Then just copy it to the second track, deleting hte first instance of the plugin on that one.
  7. The most-recent update for the Spider IV is about 4 years old now. The amp models are different than the HD500. I have heard (I'm not a metal head) that the Spider is not ideal for this type of sound as the gain/distortion models aren't what' sneeded. But I'd suggest trying an amp out for yourself - eveyone likes different tones, and much depends on the guitar(s) you use, too.
  8. It sounds like you want to use two inputs (L + R) and send to PF, and get two outputs (L + R), each with the separate guitar on it? Can't do that as the PF input is mono - it's summing the L+ R inputs to one. You would need to run each guitar on a separate track with a separate instance of PF running on it.
  9. Suggest you create a service ticket for this.
  10. Do you have an FBV MkII pedal? If so, you need to update the firmware. Did you buy the amp new or used? You can try a factory reset - with the power off, push in (and hold) the 'A' button, then turn the power on and continue holding ht A button for several seconds.
  11. Sounds like you have your input gain turned too high, but the nature of condensor mics is that they are more sensitive and will pickup more room noise than a dynamic mic.
  12. Your amp does not have any MIDI compatibility. FBV Control would only be used with your FBV MkII Express in controlling MIDI software or otehr devices plugged into your computer. The only functions the FBV MkII Express should have with your Spider II amp are to switch between the 4 preset patches and volume/wah. Did you plug the FBV to your amp via the CAT5 cable? You should not have the USB cable connected to the FBV to your computer, as that puts the pedal in computer-communication mode.
  13. I'd recommend you keep experimenting - try different manual settings, or work with an existing preset. 'Power chord' is just a term meaning doing the root-fifth-octave notes of a chord, doesn't define what kind of sound you are lookng for. The guitar you use (and its pickups) also will affect the overall sound.
  14. There is no set answer because it depends on the sound you want to get! If you are using distortion on the pedal, its usually a good idea to use a clean settng on the amp because distortion X distortion can end up with a bad sound unless used very subtley. Channel volume is used to set the levels of the various patches used so they are equal (or boosted, for example when using a lead part setting). The master volume is used to set hte overall volume for the place you're playing.
  15. First you can try to reflash the memory in the FBV - wihtout it being plugged into the amp, using USB, plug it into your computer and use Monkey to update. I have heard of other people having this same problem but never saw anyone posting a solution (I think the FBV may need to be replaced, so oif the reflashing doesn't work, create a Support Ticket as the next step).
  16. Jimmikatt is correct - the presets (saved in your computer using Spider Edit) will only work in another Spider IV amp - and the osund is likely to be a little diferent in any amp except the 75 (due to speakers and output volume level).
  17. Do you have the stand-alone version of PodFarm, or did your version come with the UX1? I haven't heard specifically of ANY audio interface manufacturers that have released Win10 drivers. As to interfaces, there's a slew of available devices out there from Focusrite, Tascam, M Audio, Steinberg ...
  18. You will most likely get a quicker answer if you post in the correct part of these forums: http://line6.com/support/forum/18-pod-hd/
  19. It shouldn't be heating up as much as you describe. Sounds to me that there is a bad component that is heating up, causing the problem you describe.
  20. So if this is the (easy) solution, then it would indeed seem to be a Win10 issue.
  21. First, you have to learn how to use the amp's patch/preset features. Adjust the volumes via channel volume control, then save the patch to a User patch location. You then use the master volume to increase/decrease the overall amp volume for all patches. This really isn t a "problem", its just a matter of learning how to use the amp's capabilities correctly. The presets are good starting points to develop your own sounds. 'popping' may be from having the volume maxed out on the patches.
  22. Sorry all you folks are still having problems. I'm sure Line 6 is looking at fixes, but the real problem devolves to Microsoft releasing another crap OS version with lots of bugs in it. A Service Pack update after less than 2 weeks? Why wasn't any of that fixed during beta testing?
  23. I see a bunch of artist and song presets listed on that page that are not included in the amp's factory presets, I'm guessing those are not, either. That page seems to be one of the original ones Line6 posted reagarding the Spider amps - there were many complaints because they listed tones (and advertised them!) that were in fact not included with the amp. I just checked my saved list of presets and its the same as posted below those sample sounds - I never noticed its not accurate either.
