  1. By the way. I had some kind of ROAR out of my Yamaha DBR12 powered speaker, one week ago. It was very loud and guitar sound could only heard dimmed in between this roaring / or belling noise. I switched to another preset and the roar, for the sake of my ears, disappeared immediately. First I thought this was a bad cable, but as I realized here, there are some issues which could be related to mine. I will keep an open eye / ear onto this blowouts and pray for our upcoming gig to go fine
  2. This little piece of technic seems to be really cool. I´ve checked some non-metal sound samples yesterday. To be honest; I got GAS and if it would just have MIDI and an XLR-output I sure would give it a try by myself. Which brings me back to the point I realize that I am strongly interested in a "HD Cap & Mic"-Pack!
  3. Hm. Seems to have no build in Midi so it's useless for live usage :/
  4. Scott, how would you call the sound-samples you where offered and you can find all around here on the board? Would you really call them mudded? I respect your feeling about the unit, but nobody can tell me that all that sound-samples reaching your ear "mudded"?!
  5. And please search for a passive pedal like this one to avoid further cables (sells for something around 15 USD here in Germany :o ) https://www.musicstore.de/de_DE/EUR/Bespeco-VM12-mono-Volume-Pedal-mit-I-O-Buchsen/art-KEY0003231-000
  6. I go direct XLR out to the soundboard and 1/4" out to the monitor, too. Of cause, I had normalized the volume on all of my patches to be a consistent volume output and crank my master to max if playing at rehearsal or stage. Also I put my Yamaha DBR12 monitor to a high output-level, which offers some headroom for minor adjustments while playing a gig. To do this, I have a passive volume-pedal between my 1/4" and my monitor, which I calibrate within the soundcheck to a volume that fits into the overall sound. Works pretty nice and you can adjust just your own volume very quickly and at your own will.
  7. Get lucky with my POD HD after a whole lot of learning

  8. depending on Mono/Stereo too AFAIK
  9. Reading the QuickStart-Guide might have been a good advice given by your own, even if you were "following along with all the tutorials that You can find" :( And please let us know your exact setup if you get back for further questions (Guitar, PU, Amlifier, Cab/Speaker(s), interface, DAW). This could help us if you try to reproduce a 7 string drop-X mega-highgain-sound using a dobro ;) ;)
  10. Try dialing back the DEP for cab Res and take a closer look at the high pass filters in both, the global EQ and the DEPs. I use a high pass at 80 hz in the global and something in between 80 and 200 in the patches. After reducing the cab Res (try it at zero) dial back the volume using the DEPs master and the mixer block. Also try the Mids in any position (not only the expected).
  11. Could be related to the type of PU we use? I use EMG81 in bridge position and an additional comp seems to muddle high-gain tones, maybe because the PU compresses the tone by itself?
  12. I rarely use any compressor in gain-tones (only in some clean-sounds) and I wonder if there could be any advantage in using comps even in distorted tones?
  13. I get damn good sounds out of the POD HD500x, so everybody should get porn-sounds out of the Helix (and I´m really sure it can be done easier than using the HD). But if one would not spend enough efforts in learning and tweaking Helix is probably not the right gear for him :(
  14. I'm sure If you ask 100 musicians you will get no clear vote on "better" quality. Your playing is so amazing that both tones work really fine.
  15. A POD B Helix
  16. Buy the bass-stuff and try the bass-stuff. I´m really sure you can return the licence if it does not fit your needs.

    FRFR volume

Okay. So I´m gonna leave some headroom to the master-value. Thank you!
  18. Hm. My suspicion from watching the changes was, that most ideas, especially those depending to POD HD, are switched to "in review" as an alias of some kind of virtual trash can, because the switches seem to appear very quickly, even if there are just a few likes ;)
  19. Load good sounding patches from CustomTones, watch Tutorial-Videos to the POD, read the MeAmBobbo Guide, use the search-function here in the community.
  20. You seem to have some basic problems understanding technical things, so regrettably I doubt, the POD is the right device for you to get luck with :( If you do like to use a device like the POD, you should have fun to teach yourself a whole lot of technic. Otherwise I´m sure you will get frustrated! EDIT: Another advice… use the search-function here. There are many topics well explained by users who spend their time to do so!

    FRFR volume

Best solution would be to get your sound + vocals back from the PA into your FRFR and the tech-guy keeps an eye on you, so he can adjust the levels quickly as needed.
  22. My 2¢ … Divide patches in Master and Slave (Alias-functionality)… Let us customize the default settings of models… Free user specific footswitch allocation… Display, if a module in the path is MONO or STEREO… Save Preset > Name > Please let us do a backspace… New modular build Editor app for similar devices (via PlugIns)…
  23. Hm. Where can I find the input-setting (Guitar / x) or is this declared via the system setup pages and is linked to the active preset if I switch from global to preset?
