Do I understand you right that you are talking about the lack of displayed knob-values? Not sure if this is a bug or a missing feature :mellow: But anyway Time will show, if the Editor is abandoned, but we should give it a try and if we talk about real bugs Line6 should be interested in fixing them even because the HD still sells and will keep on selling if Line6 offers a minimum of support to it.

I´m gonna give it a try on Win7 and latest Mac-OS. Which one? "Obi Wah" or "Vetta Wah"?

No doubt, not kidding - here are users around, who should be offered a HELIX for free as a minimum for their help to the community! If I were Line6, I would take those chances to keep power-users inline and feed them good, because they are nothing less than sale-multiplicators! F. e. I´m sure MeAmBobbo would never had bought himself a Kemper, if he just had been pampered a bit (or more (communication first)). I´m leading a small company by myself (otc-cosmetics and some medical stuff) and we always try to find and get the 'voices', 'early adaptors' and 'technocrats', which are around and seem to be valuable for our market (there my be better explanations of these kind of people). It´s truly much cheaper to let real / involved people spread your products kama than payed idols or the marketing-guys. But I´m not seeing Line6 going this way :(

All issues above should serve as a basis for further discussion. Some points could not clearly been allocated as bug or wish. ​It´s a matter of the viewpoint in some cases :rolleyes:

Hello. I am sure I have read about some real bugs of HD Edit in the past, so we should take the time and ask Line6 to fix them. This thread should be used as a collection to provide all needed changes in one list. So, at the end we should have a list of errors to be fixt and (additional) also some realistic (!) wishes (probably never will be fulfilled). First error I remember was something with mixer volume, which would not be saved in some instances (maybe only if the POD is connected via USB?). Maybe someone can specify this error more detailed? My personal biggest (realistic) wish for an update of HD Edit would be a tab-functionality to jump to the next knob or parameter and a much more straight visualisation of the chosen (or mouse-over) effect. So here is the list (I would like to keep updated) Bugs take a look at the system defaults and set them to the most common and flawless values. get rid of "(Code 8000000a) Operation timed out". add the software-ability to fix the hardware knobs, as those seem to move by themself through vibrations. expression-pedal related multi-platform bug crashes Edit, if you extensively use wah for more than a couple of minutes (Details 1, 2, 3). DEP lack of displayed knob-values (missing value-display is a known bug. Feature introduced with Ver. 2.25). Error when saving mixer volume (only HD is connected via USB) >>> ideascale I can recall encountering a bug where one side of the mixer, the right channel, occasionally went silent for some reason, and the solution was to just move the volume slider, if using HD Edit. strange general behaviors when HD is connected via USB (should be explainded more detailed). f.e. changes in FX and Amps that are performed over footswitch or expression pedal are not instantly updated/visible (some times not at all) on the edit software. There is no way to know if changes (for example, volume) are actually taking place. Communication between the software and the unit must be improved. I found after editing multiple patches and then quitting the POD HD 500 EDIT you have to restart your pedal to reread the newly edited/loaded patches or they won't play right. the delay settings are not properly transferred from the editor to the device afaik there might be some unfixed issues with some amps in the model packs. Wishes tab-functionality to jump to the next knob or parameter add an overload Indicator in the HD500 signal chain add a vertical scrollbar to allow native resolution of netbooks much more straight visualisation of the chosen (or mouse-over) effect I want to be able to see value of knobs before turning any. Its hard to tell EXACTLY what % your knob is on. The dot that represents true button placement does not get you close enough. I want to edit by the numbers not a grainy LCD screen. Often I need to edit just a couple numbers. add some more mic angles for the SM57 and some valuable mics add some kind of Global EQ patch-wise as an effect-block or DEP Dual Output Modes add API-functions or let the HD Edit go Open Source

The price for the 500x raised since I bought the POD. I got mine for 460€ and now it's at 499€. Seems to me, that the Helix still will not be stable at stock.

I would take both, but I'm pretty sure massages will only go at values higher than 100 (so please uprate me for the sake of my feet) ;) And please don't blame Line6 and do strongly believe in the power of love that we all should feel here and now.

You at Line 6 are the pumping heart and working hands behind your products but sometimes it seems to me, that we are the 'helpful tongues', that help new users and share the knowledge around your products. We take care of the many questions which are never (could be) answered in your manuals, give the same hints over and over again and keep your support costs low. So please honor our efforts and provide discounts to users which are helpful to others. Your welcome. You recognized that you, off course, can change the FS to your needs and assign more than one effect or parameter to the same FS? Good luck!

Ok. Basics... Chose a fx on the unit and hold "enter" for about 2 seconds. You will get a screen like "FS2" showing you that this particular effect can be switched using FS2. If you like this fx activated by default activate it and save the patch.

Most speakers range goes from line -12 to 12 dB mic and 12 o'clock is 0 dB. Get yourself a 15 USD guitar volume pedal and plug it 1/4" out > patchcable > volume pedal > patchcable > line in Alto. This way you can control your level smooth and individual. Set the Alto at noon and your POD to max. That give you enough headroom for kicking nuts of your band mates.

Maybe you could ask for a US specific unit?

I also use it to kill the useless (no functions to shrink or expand) window borders on my netbook. Yours, Smash

By the way. Such an Asus Eee PC works better than a cheap Windows Tablet because of its arrow-keys and the keyboard. And you can shoot one around 50-100 bucks, if you buy used. Really fun, editing meters away from the POD, sitting relaxed right in the sweet spot of the tone :)

Not really agree to the last point as it seems for me to be the part of the PA/sound-guy. Never needed to adjust Global-EQ in a live situation.

:) I solved the problem on my Asus Eee PC 1005PG forcing it to run on 1024 x 768 pixel instead of the native 600px hight. (Win 7 Starter 32bit, 2GB RAM, Intel Graphics 3150 (256MB),223GB HD) Download App: Higher Netbook Resolution (aka "Change Netbook Resolution") < only needed once to release the hight of 768 pixel Download App: Borderless Gaming < which lets you run 500x/500 Edit in Fullscreen and without window-borders by default POD HD500x Edit looks a little bit blurry as the resolution is not native but it works fine, especially if you reduce monitor-gamma to get a clearer contrast on knob-symbols etc. Good luck brothers and give me your likes B) ;)

Use EQ in your patch to HighPass at around 80-120 Hz and LowPass at 4500-7000 kHz. Let your ear decide what fits your needs on this.

There are also users on this forum who create patches for about 10 bucks but you have to realize, that your setup (guitar, PU, cab, etc.) might let the resulting patch differ from your originally idea of the tone, also if it is dialed in proper.

Hm. I do wonder more why the tone without (!) Epsi is sounding so muff? By the time I will take a look at the original patch and try to improve it. Meanwhile any new or further experiences using an external IR-device like the Logidy Epsi, Torpedo Cabs or MT Pangaea CP-100? Do you still think is it worth the costs?

+1 for Nico's "that's why in a live playing/recording scenario I would never have the Editor running with the device connected" I had volume drops while editing patches via Edit on USB which stayed even if I switch the preset. Sending the patch and (actually superfluous) receiving it directly solves the problem. Hope this helps somehow.
