There is a way to set up the expression for "auto engage" for wah, but I don't use that functionality. Someone else may want to chime in on that.

You have to think of the mix control as at 0% you have 100% dry. Mix at 50% you have 100% dry and 100% wet. Anything past 50% mix you have 100% wet, and decreasing dry. So, you may have to add dB of level to make up for the diminishing dry signal past the 50% mix on the reverb.

You high gain players use big washy reverbs with high gain? I would have thought they wouldn't play nice together. Can you post a youtube link to an example? My mind can't come up with how that would sound...

Simple question about EQ/Cut parameter priority order
jbuhajla replied to themetallikid's topic in Helix
Yeah, ain't nobody got time for Fourier Transforms in the digital realm. -
Push in the knob where the ms time values. The options then turn into note division values.

I thought I remember somewhere in the update instructions to turn off or unplug midi. I could be wrong though.

I backed up first with 2.30, Installed 2.51, ran updater, followed all the prompts, watched the % graph slowly go to 100%, Helix automatically rebooted and rebuilt presets, GOOD TO GO! I only had time to play with the new reverbs. I threw a couple in right before rehearsal. They are fantastic! Can't wait to try the Lonestar model.

You can set all of the delays in Helix to dotted eighth. Dial in a higher mix and feedback. The "Edge sound" is going to come more from technique than a magic delay setting though.

Yes, mic is lower. I have mine set to mic just because sometimes I have someone that sits in for me that mics a cabinet. So, we share the same XLR input at the venue: me with Helix direct out XLR set to mic level, and him with an actual mic on his cab.

That just goes to show how much of a difference the guitar/pickups have to do with creating tones. Petrucci uses high output active pickups. The OP used Ibanez guitars with high output pickups.

Why just French toenails? What about everyone else's toenails? That's not very inclusive.

I have found that the more I have tweaked my tone to get the "chime" on my strats and teles, the more it accentuates the "finger gliding down the string" noise. I am not going to compromise my settings because I want the "chime". So, I am more conscientious about my playing technique. I am being more conscious of lifting my fretting fingers completely off the strings and muting with my pick hand as I move my fretting hand up/down the fret-board. This means that I also have to move my fretting hand into position faster in most cases so that the playing is more fluid. Just something to keep in mind.

Simple question about EQ/Cut parameter priority order
jbuhajla replied to themetallikid's topic in Helix
I see what you are asking now...lol. What you can do is play around with that idea with the global EQ open in editor. It has a very nice visual representation of the real time frequency curve. Play around with the settings to see how the hi/lo "ramps" and the mid frequency curves interact with each other. My SWAG is that the signal is being processed in a parallel fashion so that none of the frequencies are necessarily being processed in a chronological order... -

It's all dependent on where you are doing it in your signal chain. The first thing in your signal chain is what happens first. -
g10 green led flashs when not connected
jbuhajla replied to mastercihan's topic in Relay Digital Wireless
Did you connect it to the Line 6 Updater to see if there is a firmware update available? -
^This Plus, if you have your volume knob set to control 1/4" out only, then the XLR outs default to full signal. That IS a consistent signal for your sound guy. You can choose to send a mic level or line level signal, but it will still be consistent. Once the sound guy sets your gain and level on that channel on the board, you should be good to go. Unless, you have your levels between presets way off from each other, then your sound guy will be chasing you from preset to preset. You may owe him lunch for that.

Remember, you don't have to run just 4cm to your amp OR FRFR. You can run BOTH. You can do your "wet" stuff in stereo in a couple of FRFR speakers with amp/cab simulation while running your amp in 4CM. There is an older video below showing something like that.

This is my preference.

I use two of the plastic Line 6 EXP-1 pedals. I've had one of them for a long time, recently bought another.

Yeah well they don't appreciate a great reverb. And if they did, they would spend all their money on guitar gear. I have just found how to win war on drugs...(drops the mic)...

There is a "gain" block under the Volume menu that will go negative I believe. Pure gain, no coloration.

Record Dry Signal and Wet signal at same time: With separate interface

I tried reading all the posts above, and I would have probably bailed too. Geez....
