That is an option if you are using an interface outside of Helix. I (and a lot of users here) use Helix as their interface, so I use USB 7/8 for the dry signal to DAW.
-
Volume blocks default to EXP2, but you can change it to what you want.
-
Are you setting it here: Global Settings >Ins Outs >Reamp Source 7/8
-
No global eq, that is for adjusting to a particular room playing live. Just throw in an amp/cab model you are familiar with, put a few effects in the signal chain where you have experience with them in "real" setup, and see how it goes for you. Have patience....

I believe that is correct. I believe EMG pickups in his LPs as well, but those are not something you can emulate in Helix :)
-
Using IEMs to create your patches may work out well for you. When I use mine, I tend to have to cut a little bass when sound checking live. I don't have really high end IEMs though so they don't translate "perfectly" to the PA.

It may be a hardware issue. 2.4GHz is not in the audible spectrum, but you may be correct that something in the transmission circuit (outside of the 2.4GHz propagation) may be causing noise/EMI that is being picked up by either your guitar pickups or cabling. Definitely open support tickets. -
How to pick up and carry the Helix - handles anyone?

..all while trying to incorporate skateboard tricks. That would be BA. -
This is something I did within a month or two of transitioning to Helix. We play through a QSC based PA with Q10s as the majority of the mains. So, I purchased JBL EON 610s since they are a cheaper equivalent. I try to do a final setup on my presets at fairly robust volumes to ensure they sound full and not too boomy.

Check out Worshiptutorials.com. They have some presets you can purchase that may get you going for church in the short term. If you have any P&W specific questions pertaining to the Helix, feel free to message me directly. Been using mine at church for about a year and a half now.

Open a support ticket. They will take care of you

I use a couple of the cheap plastic Line 6 EXP1 pedals. I have had one of them for years. You can get two of them for less than the price of one mission pedal. If you use a single expression plugged into the EXP2 port, then the on board defaults to EXP1. I use two external so each is dedicated.

This^ 4 ohms is much less than headphones (around 20-250 ohms depending on model). That's quite a bit less impedance. I am not an amplification expert by any means, but I would not try it for very long. There are lots of cheap solid state amps out there to drive a cabinet.

Same cables as you would use to connect a printer. They are generic.

What guitar are you using? I believe some piezo equipped guitars did this, but was remedied by using the supplied 1/4" adapter. -
Nope, you can't do it globally. Just per preset as you describe.
-
Yup^ Had to clear cache on Mac and PC to get not get that error. iPad was fine though.

That is what "pedal edit mode" on the Helix is for, isn't it? My guitar is usually in my hands during a gig/performance.
-
For all the people having the latency issue... Are you monitoring audio played back by your PC/Mac, or are you monitoring your audio from the Helix played through speakers/headphones connected to Helix?
-
Yeah, well... he started it.

Maybe: firmware version notation: 2.20, 2.30, 2.50 etc... HX Edit versions: 2.20, 2.21, 2.30, 2.31, 2.50, 2.51, 2.52 etc...

How to pick up and carry the Helix - handles anyone?

This thread is really weird.... I have a decent collection of coffee cups: some with handles and some without. I can pick them all up with my hand. Maybe my mind is just overly simple. -
You guys are well on your way to making scribble strip emojis.
-
No open chords...why not just move a whole step up with your fretting hand and transpose the chord changes a whole step up on paper?

Also be aware of the following global setting. It determines if a snapshot is automatically saved or discarded. You may find yourself needing to set it to discard so your preset is the same every time you load it. global settings >preferences>snapshot edits I think default is "recall" and not "discard"
