What Helix do you have? I have the Floor model and have had zero issues with the on board pedal. Very robust. If you are having issues with the on board, then open a support ticket. There are some LT's that have broken mechanically at the pivot point.

Two cheap plastic Line 6 EXP-1 pedals, one of them is more than 3 years old. ZERO issues, and are very durable even though they are plastic. $50 each new. I weigh 200lbs+ and put my full standing weight on them when I use them, no mechanical issues. I can get almost three of them for the price of the Mission pedals that all the cool kids have.

I got rid of all my amps and pedals and just use the Helix floor. Not a pro player, but I play weekly at my church. Here is my setup: Home- Helix Floor connected to two JBL EON 610 powered speakers (plenty loud for any jam session up to medium sized gig) connected XLR, Windows 10 laptop connected via USB for Helix Edit software and DAW, Line 6 G10 wireless, two external expression pedals to control effect/amp parameters. Church- Helix Floor connected to front of house via XLR, Line 6 G10 wireless, two external expression pedals to control effect/amp parameters. Monitor mix of full band going to in ear monitor system. I can't see myself deviating from the digital realm ever again. It just isn't necessary for me.

Does redundant mean that the controls on your amp no longer do anything? If that is the case, you either have your cables swapped around or the send/return block in your preset not set correctly.

The boutique collection is beautimous.

You can assign multiple parameters to an expression pedal. You already know how control gain. Make your minimum 2, and maximum 8 for example. Now assign the channel volume of the amp model to the same expression and make the minimum 8 and maximum 6 for example. Now when to toe down, the gain goes up and channel volume goes down. Tweak to taste.

If you are going to let a big chord hang out there and switch presets mid chord, then yes you will notice. If you are going to change presets in an appropriate musical gap during a song, then you will not notice it.

That is with any guitar rig. To me Boogie Triple Rectifiers (real amps) have a lot of "sizzle" that is noticeable playing alone, but "disappears" as soon as you have cymbals and other higher frequency stuff going on in the mix. The "fizz" I believe is just that natural sizzle associated with the digital amp models, but is just accentuated in the full range system of the Helix and associated FRFR monitoring system. A lot of people blame the hardware for the fizz, but it is just the nature of the beast. Once you understand and learn how to tweak it for your needs, then all is well.

The high/low cuts slopes are not very steep so even though you may set high at 8k, that is just where the slope starts. You may find yourself getting down to 5-6 sometimes for taming the "fizz". A parametric EQ at/near the end can give you a steeper slope if needed.

Can I use hx edit on Windows and Mac for the same helix?

Yes. I use both. -
Helix, or Helix FX?

To make a "desktop" version of a rack component, you just need to buy or build a rack for the desktop and put your rack component in it.

If you have swapped L/R cables at the mixer itself and you still have right only, it is something in your mixer. In headphones directly connected to Helix, you only have right side only?
-
If your band is using multiple wireless systems, make sure all other systems are up and running before you seat the G10. If some other system goes online on the same channel as G10 things may get a little hokey.

You must have a parallel path going to the outputs that is not controlled by the volume pedal. Can you post a pic of your preset screen?

No, it's there. Click on the dot/star next to the post's Title.

IMO, Octave up pitch shift is always going to sound a bit "synthy". You won't get the same sound as if you were actually playing an octave up on the guitar itself.

Ok...I'm out of ideas...troubleshooting help/preset signal issues
jbuhajla replied to themetallikid's topic in Helix
If you aren't hearing that choking out in your headphone jack on Helix or at home, it is in the PA at your gig. If you remove the gate, compression, and any other items from your guitar signal and still experiencing that, use a DI box so you can try the 1/4" outs. -
Heard about it here. I did not get the usual email update for it though.

Which effects have you tried so far?

Sounds like FlyingsCool just changed some parameters, Roscoe changed the actual cab when cab 2 changed.
