  1. I just wanted to quickly mention in case others haven't seen it, if you have wanted Helix Native but haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet, Line 6 just launched a 30% off sale on all of their software. If you have an HX product, you can grab Helix Native for the low low low price of $70 right now. They do these sales maybe four times a year at most so if you've been on the fence jump off and help support capitalism! Code: SALE30 https://shop.line6.com/
  2. I'm having a hard time figuring out why what is happening to you is happening to you. Just to confirm, you're using a real amp, and the four cable method, which would look like this: 1. Gutiar in to Firehawk. 2. 1/4 cable out Firehawk FX send to guitar in on amp. 3. 1/4 cable out amp FX send to Firehawk FX return. 4. 1/4 cable out Firehawk send to amp FX return. You also said you had no cab block selected, but just to be clear, you also have no amp block too, right? Could you tell us your whole signal chain inside the Firehawk from start to finish?

    Stop the hair!

I thought this was great feedback. I'm curious though, in your opinion, if he wanted to use the valve driver or some other distortion, what would be the best ways to get there without growing more hair? Is it as simple as a tone knob adjustment or are you thinking it's something else? An entirely different distortion pedal?
  4. Hey, I think it makes sense. I'll hunt for the idea scale. That'll make two.
  5. I agree it's a bummer. If that REALLY is the reason it seems like a mistake. Very few people read manuals ... those who do would feel reading an extra ten pages is worth an feature.

    Stop the hair!

That's what's referred to in the biz as a "receding hair line!" Ha ha ha I'm so punny . . . DAMN . . . I need the weekend to get here fast.
  7. My favorite site is this one because it has nice blurbs and backgrounds on the models the Helix are based on: https://helixhelp.com/ However, there are more concise lists out there and some are even available as posts further back on this page, but unfortunately I tried searching for them and couldn't find them. I do know that, for right now anyway, the HX Stomp user manual has all of the current amps and effects listed on pages 19 - 27.
  8. Are you referring to this one? https://reverb.com/item/1614216-mxr-m-104-distortion-mint If you mean that one, I'd have to say it was pretty solidly popular. The design of the original is pretty close to a DOD OD-250. They are not EXACT - but pretty close. Personally, I prefer the DOD (not knocking the MXR). I'd mess around with the "Top Secret OD" which is the Helix version of that, and see if you can dial in what you're looking for.

    Stop the hair!

Indeed, this was the thinking behind my original post further above. One man's "too hairy" is another man's gorgeous Gaston. When I listened to the mixes, I actually preferred the hairy one. That's not to say I wouldn't tweak it slightly, but it felt like it had way more impact than the other one. BUT all the same, I could potentially see uses for both versions - it just depends on what the song calls for. That's why when discussing these things it's always more useful (to me) to be exact and specific about what you like or don't like, and compare it to the EQ graph which is what users did above. It's so easy to start to figure things out at that point.
  10. I assume what you're trying to do is what is advertised below starting at the 3:00 minute mark:
  11. I don't yet know why it might be doing what it's doing for you . . . but absolutely it's supposed to be able to do what you're trying to do. The FX block you have selected is clearly a mono FX block and so I'm confused as to why it's panning one left and the other right. If I get a chance I'll mess with something similar tonight and see if if I run into the same problems, or if I can figure out what might be causing it. Edit: As a test - and it would be useless in practice because it eats up too many blocks, but can you test doing the same thing but with the mono send R return R and send L return L blocks split? I'm curious if all the mono blocks act stereoish, or if it's just the FX send/return.
  12. I just wanted to chime in and verify that the display for the Stomp sucks in sunlight too. We're only just barely coming out with displays (largely on expensive smart phones) that are OK in direct sunlight - nowhere close to stellar - and there is a reason those devices cost a pretty penny. Not to give up hope though. I could see it for Helix v. 2025.
  13. Yes it is. Plug one guitar into the "guitar in" as you always do. Design your signal path for whatever best suits that guitar. Plus the second guitar into one of the Helix's other in holes (FX return) and on a second path set the starting input for the return port you used. Then design this second path according to what ever signal path suits that guitar. Walla. Two guitars, one Helix.
  14. That could indicate there are conflicts with the global settings. Can you confirm the following settings: Global Settings > Preferences 1. Exp/FS Tip set to Expression Pedal 1. 2. Exp/FS Ring set to Expression Pedal 2. Bypass Assign Menu (Press both page buttons simultaneously and then press knob 1. 1. Assign the switch parameter of volume pedal and pan blocks to "none." 2. Assign the switch parameter of wah and pitch wham blocks to "Exp 1."
  15. Okay, it largely worked straight out of the shoot once I'd corrected my global settings to match what I thought you were trying to do. Just to confirm: Wah: Expression Pedal 1 controls position. Expression Pedal 1 deactivates wah when it reaches 5% position (you mentioned that it wasn't controlling the position, but is it doing the bypass as you want?). Volume: Expression pedal 2 controls volume. Footswitch 5 controls volume block bypass. Just to confirm something for me, what type of expression pedal(s) are you using?
  16. Well, I'm taking a look at the preset now . . .
  17. Not to poo poo an idea but .... why? It won't improve sound and at best just saves you two blocks. I don't hear many complain about DSP limits on full Helix.
  18. Yeah that's the bypass block button that turns it off or on. An off block doesn't do anything. Can you share one of these presets so people can test it?
  19. What happens when you clear the controllers and reassign them?
  20. Yeah, I ran into that problem too, and then again on the HX Stomp with the dual mission pedal. However, with the Stomp I went in and swapped the max and min values, so that when you pushed the pedal down it lowered the volume on expression one, and when I lifted it it increased the volume. Then the expression two was just a standard wah. This way when I stepped forward I was returning my settings to their base volume. Did the HD500 have that ability? Is there a better way to do it on the HX line? I don't know, but it works great for me. Tons of people seem to do fine with it. I have no problem with the Firehawk's pedal and it's largely the same design. Is your just defective? One test that I've found works is pressing the toe switch with your finger. If you can't get it to work that way then there's probably something wrong with it.
  21. First, I would be very careful. I don't believe the pedal power 2 has enough juice for the Stomp. Second, you do need an adapter, like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016BJGZ2U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_WruHCbCZAH8A6
  22. Those ones aren't created by L6 but by users who have already demonstrated their skills. Most of those people have demos on YouTube. Glenn for example has several good examples. Below are some I bought.
  23. The creator of those IRs spoke on another post confirming that they're just IRs combined with presets.
  24. Are you sure you're looking in the right spot? The marketplace has several bundles. I've bought a few of them and really liked them. https://shop.line6.com/marketplace/
