  1. Just out of curiosity, where do you see that the Helix's Ext Amp jack was meant to handle two amps? The Global Settings is meant for being able to control two settings like channels changes and reverb, but on the same amp. Just wondering if that's what you're referring to. Thanks,
  2. When I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Sorry, I was not aware of that.
  3. The Helix tuner is silent when tuning. It's not that way on the HX Effects?
  4. I don't see anything in the release notes that says that it doesn't work on the HX Effects.
  5. HX Edit works on all of the products in the Helix family including your HX Effects. It’s available for macOS or Windows. HX Edit v2,52 is the latest version. It's available in the download section.
  6. Yeah, I know that. I am using it with one amp at a time now. Just want to change channels on my second amp (simultaneously). Both amps are Marshalls and work with the tip setting. I wish the Helix Floor had two Ext Amp jacks like the HX Effects. Thanks.
  7. iknowathingortwo is not a user name. It's a forum status, so you will see that next to anyone that has over 100 forum posts and under 500 (I think). My forum user name is VirtualGuitars. To answer your question, you can use snapshots to change channels and effects at the same time. In my setup, I dedicate a stomp button on all of my presets that lets me change the channel on one my amps. You can do this on two amps with the HX Effects. It works using a TS or TRS cable (depends on your amp) and works just like the factory foot pedal. Press it once it changes from clean to crunch. Press is again and it goes from crunch to clean. Very simple and one less box (or two) on your pedalboard. Hope this helps you.
  8. I suggest you try updating your firmware to v2.53. If that doesn't fix it, open up a ticket with Line 6 Support.
  9. Have you opened up a ticket with Line 6 Support? Their support is TOP NOTCH. Please understand that this is user support forum. Line 6 doesn't typically respond to threads on here. This is a place to collaborate with other users which is beneficial when you need help on a unique issue.
  10. I'm glad they took care of you. I knew that they would!
  11. The two Ext Amp jacks are also used for expression pedals on the Hx Effects. You can either use channel switching with two amps, two expression pedals, or one of each.
  12. Please don't form your opinion over this isolated incident. I know it's frustrating, but there are literally hundreds of active users on this forum that rely on their Helix family of products on a daily basis. They will swap out with a new unit. Just open up a ticket with Line 6 Support or go back to where you purchased it.
  13. Have you opened up Activity Monitor and analyzed how much memory and CPU each instance is using? That would be a great place to start. Opening up 5 instances at simultaneously will definitely put a strain on your system resources including disk activity. Do you have solid states drives or regular hard drives? And the latest version of Helix Native is 1.50. Not sure where you got Helix Native 2.1 from.
  14. Do you own a Line 6 product like Helix?
  15. I bought one with my Helix, then the promo came out a week or two later. Just my luck. I can tell you that they are rock solid. And I do live in Texas. :)
  16. I missed out on this by a week or two that last time they ran this promotion. :(
  17. Makes sense from that perspective. From my perspective, I was just changing a parameter so I didn't think that would qualify as a new block - but point taken. Thanks!
  18. Thank you for responding. And you're absolutely right. I like using the external pedals for wah because it feels more natural and there's less travel distance between 0 and 100. I rarely use the volume pedal which is why I like using the built-in pedal for it. I have seen others plagued with this default behavior too. Maybe a future update will allow the user to set a preference for this in Global Settings that would automatically update the factory presets accordingly - but I doubt we will see this change as it could be confusing. I just wish my presets weren't altered when I change a minor settings. That's not a feature. :)
  19. Hello Everyone, I use my Helix Floor with two Marshall tube amps and use some of my presets to change channels on the first one. There's another active thread on this for the HX Effects; however, since the Helix only has one Ext Amp jack, the solution will be different. I am looking for some sort of switch box that will allow me to use the Ext Amp jack to change channels both amps at the same time. It's worth noting that both amps have a clean and crunch channel only. The channel switching settings on the Helix are the same for each amp. I am not looking for independent channels changes. I basically just want the stomp button to perform the same action on both amps simultaneously. Is this even possible? What external solution will allow me to accomplish this? The Helix will be sending the same signal either way - I just need it split into two cables. Would a basic A/B switch box work in my particular scenario? Thanks, David
  20. The Line 6 download is still indexed for v2.50. See my post above with screenshot. It's no biggie, especially if you use the Line 6 Updater tool to download the newest firmware as opposed to downloading it manually - which is best practice.
  21. This is clearly a URL/PHP script error. This should be a very easy fix for the Line 6 webmaster - especially since the forum software is working OK (for the most part).
  22. Hey Everyone, I use my Helix Floor with two Mission Engineering expression pedals. My presets are setup to use the built-in EXP1 pedal for volume control, EXP2 for wah, and EXP3 for anything else I may need. The factory presets are the other way around; however, I discovered an issue when tweaking some of my settings. Some of my presets use stereo effects; however, as the manual states, every block before the amp/cab models will become a mono signal afterwards. After I rediscovered this in an effort to reclaim DSP processing power, I changed all of my blocks before the preamp back to mono (volume, wah, and distortion). As soon as I did this, the volume and wah EXP1/EXP2 pedal settings reversed to the factory preset behavior. Since I am using two paths, I had to fix this on both of them. I didn't even change the volume or wah models - just flipped their settings from stereo back to mono. That's it. Possible bug(s)? FYI, I am on Helix v2.53 and HX Edit v2.52. I made the changes using the HX Edit (macOS) application, so it's possibly an issue with the software and not the Helix firmware. I have a bunch of presets to change and fix now. :) Thanks, David
  23. I love how the latest version of HX Edit is 2.52 and the firmware is 2.53 - YET - unless you actually click on the download page and drill down to your hardware/software, it shows 2.50 as the latest version (see attachment). This is a manual update to the root download page, but still...
