well the support guys are not at your level of expertise in electronics repair, i'm sure that they simply thought that would make the most sense... a qualified tech would probably charge 60$ to look at it and the board they would replace would be 100$ if they even still have it (all guessing....) i guess they just figured the average person would rather spend that money on a new amp... for an inquiry on your level you should contact a service center http://line6.com/find/service_center/ many to choose from and all independent.... so if one isnt helpful call another...

Do I have to buy POD Farm 1 or 2?
TheRealZap replied to 357mag's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
have you upgraded the firmware....? the x3's come with pod farm... not sure about the xt's been a while.... but pod farm 2 should work as a trial anyway.... 100% sure that there is no free pod farm 2 license that ever came with an xt though.... so if you're hoping for a free license.. its pod farm 1 if any. -
the update will be made available as needed.... if you need the update you'd need to contact support either via support ticket or phone. i'd be surprised if there are many vetta's out there that aren't already updated.
-
I'm confident, that's not going to be the case.... :D
-
that never works for me... i dont want them to be the same db's i want them to sound the same volume... sometimes thats more bass or more treble etc... which can sound higher or lower in volume regardless of having the same db reading... (sound perception) you'll probably be close though... just don't be afraid to deviate + or - 3db ish
-
ignore the mixer entirely... (that's pretty much just for tweaking the stereo out mix and shouldn't be used as a volume generally) leave the master volume on the pod hd alone the channel volume or volume "on the amp" in the pod. some amps may need more tweaking than others... and you can always go deeper into the amp settings and use the "master" volume inside the deep edit parameters on the amp. the main thing is that the POD master volume needs to be basically at the level you want the tones to be.... the end result is that the pod master volume will raise all of your volumes equally when used later.... (after the tone settings have been changed and saved) keep in mind that there is still volume perception... (if you level them all in your bedroom, they wont sound right at gig volume and vice versa)
-
set master..... leave it. change channel volume.... save tone.... then go through all of them and do the same without touching master volume.

the spider II line was released in 2003 or 2004 i'd say that's a pretty awesome stretch of time for an amp was under 200$ new..... not to mention if it was a higher end tube amp it would probably be on it's 10th visit to an amp tech. (tubes do require more maintenance.) just saying from my perspective you did pretty good with a line6 amp. you didn't expect them to send you free parts for your 12 year old amp did you? and i'm not saying that sarcastically... i really want to know what your expectation was at this point?
-
i think it could be done.... but you'd be devoting an awful lot of resources for a product that only a percentage of variax users would buy.... the more variax catches on.... the more likely this is to happen... in my opinion.
-
use your recording software (DAW) to do the mixing options... there's no need to open pod farm for anything.... if you need to adjust inputs.. either do so by making changes in your DAW or by accessing the line6 audio midi applet in your control panel or sys prefs. you absolutely do not need pod farm or its mixer functionality to use the UX2.

They are surely adding security to protect the model packs from unauthorized use ...
-
if that date is true... and i have no reason to believe that it is or isn't.... but if we accept that.... it's only saying that the update would be 2 weeks later than previously promised.... a small amount of time to wait... especially as that means they are finding and fixing issues, adding more features, or giving it a good test before releasing. all very worthwhile.
-
all of their current and new wireless devices will work with both... however... if you'e asking if it will do the variax digital cable thing wireless the answer is NO.
-
yeah but its all part of the process... get variax out there, and accepted... then you have a bigger market to provide for=greater business potential.
-
call them then. http://line6.com/company/contact/ under normal conditions it takes 3 business days to get a support ticket answered. they might be busier than normal, because it's not that far out of that window (yes it is after 3 days... obviously...)

Question: DT amps + new Model packs?
TheRealZap replied to ColonelForbin's topic in Dream Rig - Line 6 Product Integration
There are no plans to add the models to the DT amps they will all still work via L6Link, you just won't be able to get the new models on your DT in standalone mode. -
Newbie To Protools And Podfarm 2.55
TheRealZap replied to thrash4ever's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
couple of possible things.... 1st is if you're using pro tools 11, it does not support pod farm (or vst's, au's, or rtas plugins) second possibility is you may not have a license for the plugin... -
BROKEN LINKS - Tone Creation in HD500X Edit Tones and Videos
TheRealZap replied to rhandy's topic in POD HD
I turned your request over to the support manager yesterday, i'm sure he's aware and working on it if its not fixed already. -
well i am 100% certain that this feature was not in the release version... (unless you just happen to get one that has v2 on it from the start, ive never seen one that did) i trust the other guys that say the feature is included in the update.
-
if you have a 500x, by the end of the month... the rest of the HD pods (except 300/400) will follow within a couple of weeks after. ...last i heard.
-
I wish, but not the case... may well be nothing else.
-
the closest thing to a new bean right now is the amplifi TT, and its not exactly the same thing... just a desktop style tone device. rest assured.... they are always working on new things!
