  1. i believe he may have been referring to how many of those come with "usable" tones pre-loaded from the factory... pretty sure that at least 3 or 4 setlists are filled up to get you started... which you can, as stated, overwrite if you wish....
  2. it's not listed because its no longer sold or officially supported.. HOWEVER... it will work.
  3. here's the model guide 1958 Tweed B-Man is probably what you're looking for http://line6.com/data/6/0a060b316ac34f0593be902d6/application/pdf/POD%20X3%20Model%20Gallery%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20B%20).pdf
  4. it might be simple in the context of just flipping the guitar body... CNC machines and all that... but this isn't a typical guitar, the electronics would need to be re-engineered to accommodate the new location of controls etc. i don't know if they will or won't... if they plan to.. or don't.... i just know that claiming it's "simple" is an overstatement.
  5. 1. no 2. no 3. there are some L6Link and configuration settings in the update.... the primary benefit of the update is for using the DT amps standalone. you will be fine without it... not much difference... but it's easy and free... you should get it. 4. with the update you can set the NFL seperately from the preamp (standalone)
  6. actually i'm pretty sure that vintage fender amps do not have any gain control on them at all.....
  7. if you're using Linux to create music... you're going to be angry at alot of manufacturers. probably ought to get used to that.....
  8. if you have an older variax... the workbench software will not work through the x models. (JTV or newer work on either)
  9. you can only get to 4 tones with the express... there are alot more accessible if you have the shortboard FBV pedal.
  10. come on man... ease up! :D he's already acknowledged he got his answer in his other thread.... he's just being conversational and correcting some inaccurate info on the topic. all good, really.... i learn alot around here....
  11. per string volume adjustments, and some dream rig integration stuff off the top of my head.
  12. drag and drop..... or change file extensions... you make have to review the input settings etc... because the pro's have more inputs than the 500's
  13. HD is a newer way of modeling the amps and effects.... the included pod farm models will only be translated to the HD platform.. they will not be remodeled.... so therefore they will not be HD. i suspect that there will be some difference from the pod farm/x-series models... because they will be paired with m-series effects for example... i also suspect that they won't be a radical departure from what everyone knows on the pod farm/x-series... as for which one.... not sure.
  14. that's all that they've announced... but it's not done yet... so we'll see if anything more has changed when it's released.
  15. a second battery would be easier to deal with than the XPS device and TRS cable etc... one in the guitar and one on the charger... that way you should be good to play at any time. my opinion anyway... but i use the pod so its even simpler for me.
  16. i think TT just fits better on the amplifi forum than on the floorboard amplifi forum... FWIW
  17. it should come with everything you need to connect to your PC if you're ordering a new one. 1. yes it comes with 2. yes it will be usb through a variax interface. yes you are correct in the power option... BUT it does also come with a rechargeable battery... so you don't really "need" that stuff... unless you want it.....
  18. The update worked fine. It doesn't eliminate those things only makes them better. They are physically switching things inside the amp and can't be avoided.
  19. the bass models are all HD.
  20. there are no distortion or effects in workbench... i think you mean the pod edit program, and the answer is no.
  21. No. not natively... but if you wanted to do some woring you could probably make it happen... just don't think its worth it. (also moving topic to correct category)
  22. i like the black better myself.... and the trem 2point vs vintage styling is a trade off.... the 2 point is probably better if you use the trem alot.... but i think the vintage style allows the wood/body to factor more prominently in the tone. i prefer the vintage style. if i'm picking.... otherwise they are both usable.
  23. it will use your authorizations... but "lifetime" really only means "until you have to call" line6 will reset it for you typically without issue if needed. i also wouldn't bother authorizing your computer, unless you paid to upgrade pod farm...
