  1. 1. it is not my job to help you do anything... i provided you with a link to support, as well as information that the software is no longer supported... which is more than i owe you or any other random typist on the internet. 2. the software did work... i've used it myself... your argument is invalid. the drivers in and/of themselves likely still work... i do not take it upon myself to test software that is no longer supported. 3. well the software worked before yosemite... if you want it to work now... you can revert... if you'd rather have yosemite... then you've made your choice. and just for total clarification... line 6 expert users are not employees.... what you are getting is a great deal of experience and a group of guys expressing their opinions, that tend to know the facts... (as in the software is no longer supported) you don't have to like the facts... but they are stubborn things.
  2. i've been here well over a decade... as have the forums.... and once upon a time this was how line6 did support... i've made you aware of the new way... just trying to help.... line6 gave you working software.... you changed the underlying apple software and it stops working.... come on.... it doesn't even take "corporal obvious" to spot what changed...
  3. agreed. so make apple change it since they broke it. this is a user forum.... if you want support: http://line6.com/company/contact/ although Line6 Tony who is the support manager already stated it was no longer supported... but maybe you'd like to hear it again?
  4. haha.... noone here is claiming to be an expert in hacking legacy software to work on modern OS's in that respect you probably know more than most of us... you can be the software hacking expert...
  5. not true... i do record both the wet and dry with the HD, and i also have a standalone pod farm 2 license... which is better than the x3 by itself... because it allows flexible chaining and multiple instances of effects. as well as many other non-line6 vst's i have access to. i certainly understand the workflow... as i use it alot... but i also always record the wet signal for reference. and sometimes just run with it...
  6. sound quality, sound quality, and sound quality. way more flexible effects chain, m-series effects, deep edit parameters on the amp models... to name a few.
  7. we could talk about unicorns or centaurs instead... i mean if we're just looking to talk about stuff that doesn't exist......
  8. Dude... the decision to move to an unsupported operating system was between you and apple. You alone (apple did not make you update) bear the responsibility for that ill fated decision. the software provided by line6 did not change... in fact as noted it was not supported on the previous apple OS either... just so happened that apple had not made changes that affected it... the pod HD is a different device and has different strengths than the X products... and yes it features NO VST... which is about the only part of your post that you got right.... but there are many reasons that the HD pods are not a 1:1 replacement for the X pods... they are different devices... i'm sorry that your device is not working like it used to... you can always revert back to a supported operating system if it's that important to you.
  9. yes, as long as it's an iOS device that has iOS7 or newer and the lightning port.... will work with the dock port devices as well... but requires an optional cable purchase for that.
  10. ooops! sorry... wires crossed meant that for somewhere else.
  11. L6Link as far as i know.... doesn't play well with a mix of L and DT. i don't have them to experiment on.... but i'm pretty sure that this is the case. if i recall correctly, it's about the output mode and how the pods cannot send more than 1 output mode out at a time.... ideally you'd want studio out the L and combo out the DT.. i believe....
  12. you might be able to do something like that if you split the path left and right... i don't have the exact setup... but i think you can if you send the same amp model to the DT's.
  13. usually it's as simple as turning on the tuner (as long as the bypass is disabled.)
  14. I don't think you can.... pretty sure that 2 independent models (you can have 4 amps though) is the max that you can address via line6link. you really just need to go 1/4" out to the L2M via the effects loop for use with the tones that require it..... (not at the same time) or get creative... i suppose... maybe you'll come up with something else suitable... but not exactly what you're asking.
  15. the x3 doesnt always come with pod farm 2 either by the way...a chance you have a pod farm 2 license between the devices... but not a given.
  16. maybe you only had a pod farm 1 license? sounds like pod farm 2 might be in trial mode....
  17. it's not a simply plugin and it works scenario.... make sure you check your inputs for example... the pod by default will double your input up because of it's dual pathways... also keep in mind that the DT amps DO emulate cabs in the default model... so if you disable cabs... you won't match... etc etc... they will match up... if you take the time to sort it out.... if you just plug up one day and expect it to match... no... won't happen.
  18. anyone try one of these options? http://www.geek.com/android/how-to-emulate-android-on-your-pc-1583616/ not worth it to me.... but would be pretty cool if it worked. that bluestacks one in particular sounds like it'd be killer.
  19. you're going to have to provide alot more information if you want anyone to suggest anything that might help you... we don't know what piece of hardware you're using, what software, mac or pc.... etc etc....
  20. WRONG. these things take time.. and the ideas are debated, and many are implemented... not looking to debate this... as this is FACT.... and whether you believe me or not... time will tell.
  21. garageband is apple only... so if you downloaded it and installed it on windows...... then you were likely not looking in legitimate places... and yes... spyware/malware is common on those avenues.... i suggest mixcraft.... its about as close to garageband as you'll ever find on windows...
