  1. Well I was generalizing and didn't intend any personal offense to anyone. Much like the quotation is exaggerated to prove a point so was my response. I consider such exaggeration a to be sarcastic in nature. In any case no offense intended.
  2. try repairing disk permissions first... silly as it sounds, that's fixed the odd issue here and there...
  3. do you have a 1/4" jack in the guitar and the volume turned up?
  4. have you rebooted? tried different usb cables? try unplugging the UX and install the driver package separately from here: http://line6.com/software/ make sure you are not using a usb hub as well... typically the back ports on your computer work better.
  5. my response was not intended to be snide etc.... in fact it was only equal in the sarcasm to the section in which i quoted... you knew the types of responses you would get with this thread... you're not exactly new to the forums... no reason to try and make it personal, just because i chose to play along.
  6. they also sell covers for amps you don't own... accessories for wireless gear you don't own... amps for basses you don't play... and mixers and speakers that not every guitar player needs... but because they made ONE particular line of amps that was never intended for you (being a self professed non-apple guy).. then they are suddenly not worthy of your time... (where was the outrage, with mobile in, midi mobilizer, mobile keys... those were pretty much apple oriented....) they never claimed that an android app would be delivered.... so if you bought it expecting one... then perhaps the problem was the expectations? they did say that the usb is for future use.... strong possibility that could be for PC, or recording, or maybe even just apple product charging... but at this point... the future has not arrived. they will make more products... many with "you" in mind... they will enable the USB to do something... (possibly moving the amp into a "you" category) and they ALWAYS have surprises around the corner... as in updates, more products etc... grab a guitar and an amp of your choosing and keep rocking... rather than getting upset.
  7. for the same reason we cry about issues that have already been asked and answered.... because it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy...
  8. no... the pedals only control what the amp is capable of doing... does not in and of itself add anything that the amp can't already do. sorry.
  9. you can do it... best way depends on your amp... but ideally i would go from a direct out on your amp if available to the mic port.... but you could get workable results from other options as well.
  10. *MOVED POST TO MORE CORRECT FORUM* the answer is yes* you can use pod farm tones with a pod XT or X3 *within certain limitations of the hardware platform.... examples: XT single tone only XT/X3 rigid effects chain XT/X3 single effect from each category... (per tone) in other words.... they really line up with pod farm 1.x rather than 2.x but the same models exist within the platforms.
  11. "streaming" makes no promises as to any delay between input and output. unfortunately in this instance, your assumption is incorrect, the manual is accurate. I'm glad that you found a workaround; as stated in this thread though only modest enhancements, if any, are likely for the drivers.
  12. yes, as long as you have access to a FBV MKII shortboard or express.
  13. because the pickups are magnetic... the strings are metal... and uh.... physics. from what i can see its an issue with a handful of guitars and not an issue with variaxes in general. (yes i've owned older and newer ones... and have played every model... both Korean and USA)
  14. Kind of... BUT... i believe when i had my XT a ways back that was normal when connected via midi. i could be having a poor memory... i'm not sure that the drivers need installed at all for pure midi use. (meaning edit/gearbox, or even monkey to some degree)

I hardly think that your issues with the amp would be considered a "scam" sorry that you are having issues, but you really need to call or follow up on your support ticket, and support will make every effort to help you. obviously you're happy with your ultimate solution, so i'm merely responding so that future users understand that your experience is not typical and they can pursue the options above.
  16. try removing the driver and installing an older on via the terminal: To remove driver 7.3.6 1- On a terminal run this command sudo pkgutil --forget com.line6.driver.xtaudio.package (enter) 2- Then this sudo pkgutil --forget com.line6.driver.xtmidi.package (enter) 3- Reboot To install driver 7.2.9 4- Downloaded driver version 7.2.9 http://line6.com/sof...a.html?rid=5675 5- Run the 7.2.9 driver package to install it and ended the process with a reboot
  17. You're experience is not typical. I've alerted support to your concerns, and they will likely contact you soon.
  18. like silverhead said... can't use usb speakers... your speaker must connect directly to the GX.
  19. you can control the guitar via the pod, meaning change models etc save within the tone... you don't have to deal with batteries.... you can simultaneously route the models and the pickups... even send them down different paths with different tunings... probably even more... but loads of options.. the tradeoffs are minor.. you can still put stomps in the FX loop.
  20. yeah that VDI can be GOLD... super rare, super desirable.
  21. they do have a series 1 logo that would probably fit the spot: https://www.globalfulfillment.net/gfsnet/line6/10Expand.aspx?ProductCode=30-60-2080
  22. is the final firmware. nothing newer.
