  1. I see 21 59s, but only 5 89s (no used 89f's). I don't know if I'd read a whole into it. For one thing, MF doesn't typically resell items that have legitimate issues. These are most likely guitars that people bought and tried and decided to send back for whatever reason. My suspicion would be they may have paid full price and then saw all of the low prices at somewhere like Sweetwater. The other thing I'll say is that I've bought a lot of things from MF's used section, and it's been great. Occasionally they have deals where they offer and addition 10-15% off used stuff. At that point, it's lower than what stuff goes for used on eBay. The nice thing is that even though the manufacturer's warranty is voided for a used piece of gear, MF offers a 45-day return period. So if something does show up, you still have some degree of security built in.
  2. It's up in the upper left hand corner of the HD500X Edit window. It says SEND and RECEIVE in light brown lettering. Beneath that are the options Selected, Set List, and All for each one.
  3. The M13 can essentially do that - you can change the position of an effect by hooking it up in the 4 cable method and changing the position of the M13's effect loop on a scene by scene basis. The M9 can't do it.
  4. I wish they had a way to do this, too. On the XT series, they had a couple of cool features that I wish they would carry over. The one was that you could save different default effect setups that you could run through by turning the "effect tweak" knob. The other one was that you could save default settings for each amp model. It made it pretty easy to create a tone from scratch.
  5. There's no way to change the way those switches function. Have you considered using latch mode and simply changing scenes rather than trying to turn off multiple effects at once? It depends on how you're using the M9, but it may simplify things for you.
  6. Well, you'd just connect the Roland to your computer with a separate USB connection from the UX2. The UX2 doesn't have any auxiliary USB ports on it.
  7. You can record two tracks simultaneously with the UX2, so yes, you could record them both at the same time and have them as separate tracks in Garage Band. The one thing to consider, though, is that the drums would probably sound best if recorded in stereo. Really, the best way to record electronic drums would be to take a separate output from each drum and a stereo track for the cymbals. That way you could apply different effects to everything. But if it's just for a rough demo, a stereo track would do fine. Mono would be OK, but I think I'd try to do stereo. The other thing you could do with electronic drums is to record a MIDI track from the drum set. You're right, the UX2 doesn't do that, but you could a simple MIDI to USB adapter and record the MIDI track. Than it would be a pretty simple thing to create an audio drum track with that MIDI track using virtual instruments in GarageBand. The cool thing about that is that you don't have to commit to a drum sound while recording the part. Sorry if this is more information than you want or need. As with most recording things, you can get as simple or as complicated as you want.
  8. They're instrument level, just like any other stompbox.
  9. You can't assign different parameters to footswitches like that, but you can assign almost any parameter to be controlled by one of the expression pedals.
  10. This thread may be of some help to you: http://line6.com/support/topic/1553-m5-and-boss-fv-500l-cable/?hl=fv-500l
  11. Yes, as long as you have the correct power adapter it will work fine.
  12. Well, what do you mean by regular Strat pickups? There are so many different types of pickups used on Strats, and everyone has different preferences as to how they want them to sound. I would say a more useful comparison would be comparing the output of the Spank model on the JTV with the magnetic pickups. I would think ideally you'd want those to be roughly in the same ballpark level wise.
  13. No, the tones for those devices aren't compatible. They're two completely different modeling platforms.
  14. No, the update doesn't give you any additional benefit if you're using the DT25 only with the HD500.
  15. That won't work. You need a host device for the POD's USB port to do anything. The only thing I've seen that does that sort of thing is this: http://www.kentonuk.com/products/items/utilities/usb-host.shtml I still have no idea if it would work, though.
  16. The POD is the interface. You don't need any other interface to record via USB.
  17. Hmm... My DT-25 is pretty much dead quiet - much quieter than any of my other tube amps, I believe. I imagine that hiss could be a sign of tube going bad. Has this just developed recently, or has it always been this way?
  18. You certainly can do that. I guess my question would be, though, is why don't you consider using latch mode? That way you can easily go between scenes with just a push of one button. If you do need to turn individual effects on and off within a scene, you can still easily get in the scene by hitting the "Scenes" switch. But if you aren't worried about turning individual effects on and off, latch mode may make your life easier. It's what I use, and it's for the exact reason you bring up.
  19. I actually can't imagine why the reverb in the amp wouldn't work with a standard 4CM hookup, because with a regular 4CM hookup you're not really bypassing anything. I am not entirely sure where the reverb is located in the signal chain on the DT amps in relation to the effects loop. I believe it probably comes after the loop, but I'd have to mess around to see. But as long as you have the signal chain correct, there's no reason the amp's reverb shouldn't work.

    Pod Hd 1/4" Outs

I was wrong about Pros up above, but the Bean's 1/4" outs are definitely balanced. That part of the manual above is incorrect. I know that for a fact.

You got it right. Adjusting the master volume on the HD doesn't equal adjusting the master volume on the DT. They're still independent volume controls. It's just that now with the update, the HD's master volume isn't automatically bypassed when you use the L6 Link connection. I think the functional aspect is that it just gives you another way to make minor volume adjustments without having to touch the amp.

    Pod Hd 1/4" Outs

Are you talking about the Bean? I imagine you since you're asking the question, but if that's the case, using the 1/4" outs with a 1/4" to XLR cable to go into one of the L3T's XLR inputs is probably the best way to do it. Honestly, though, if you're using the L3T, you may want to think about trading up to an HD500 or 500X so you can take advantage of the L6 Link connection.

On the Bean? They're balanced. On all the floor models, they're unbalanced. On the HD Pro (and Pro X), they're balanced as well.

Meh, people see what they want to see. The problem with forums is that they can easily be dominated by a handful of posters. Even over at a place like The Gear Page, which is supposedly the largest guitar forum around, the sub-forums consist mainly of a maybe a few dozen poster talking at each other. I still maintain that no one wants Line 6 to succeed more than Line 6. I think they know more what the average user wants more than any of us. They know the sales numbers. They know the number of complaints. They have all of that. I don't think they're necessarily done with development on the HD line, but I also don't think people are going to get everything they want. My personal opinion is still that the middle of the bell curve on modeling products is a user who probably doesn't care that much about updates. I could be wrong about that, though.
