  1. Thanks for the info!! I know with the AMPLIFi FX100, if you connect a cable to the AMP it disables the Bluetooth stream to the headphones (and main outs) as joebutterfield described.
  2. The switching gets to be a pain, a mixer can solve this, even if it's a small one. If you were using PC speakers with the M-Audio (and the speakers weren't connect to the M-Audio) then you likely were not using ASIO drivers. The very nature of ASIO is the same device is the input and output. There are other work arounds, the one BigChas mentioned is one. Another is use Windows WDM in Reaper and select the UX as your input and your internal sound card as output. But this defeats the purpose and advantages of ASIO.
  3. Go to the POD Farm mixer view. I typical send wet to send 1/2 and dry to 3/4. Then in Reaper make sure you enable all the inputs. Insert 2 tracks in Reaper and arm both of them to record. Select Inputs 1/2 for one track and 3/4 for the other. Make sure you headphones are plugged into the UX
  4. +1 to BigChas But in the long run you might be better of recording with the UX2 and adding the plug-ins post processing. With the UX2 you can send wet, dry, or both to Reaper via USB.
  5. Go into the Windows mixer and navigate to recording devices, you should see the UX, make sure the "Listen to the device" is checked.
  6. The tones are in the amp and has nothing to do with the Bluetooth streaming (except for editing parameters with an iOS7 device). You can stream music from a Bluetooth device to play along with. Only the guitar is routed to the headphone out, not any music you are streaming to the AMPLIFi.
  7. Well the drive is at zero. Also, I would try some of the preamps and maybe a compressor or tube drive
  8. +1 to Zap, (with the exception of FX Junkie if it was bundled with your UX2)
  9. If you want to monitor through your computer's speakers, you would need to run the analog outs into your Mac's line in, but that is not optimal. I would suggest investing in a set of monitors and a mixer if you plan on doing a lot of recording. When you use the X3 to record via USB it is the soundcard. The X3 is bundled with POD Farm 1.12, and essentially is a plug-in version of the X3 tones. The GUI is different from Gearbox but the tones are the same. A common workflow is to capture both wet and dry sends (via USB) and then you can add the POD Farm plug-in to the dry track post processing.
  10. @ dscheidt I think you misunderstood me. The UX8 is indeed legacy, however, the POD Studio's, GX, UX1, and UX2 are currently supported. @mjdecker If you did purchase a hardware independent (not i-Lok) POD Farm 2 license, it can be used on other USB ASIO interfaces, the license with the UX8 will only be POD Farm 1.12, and requires the UX8 as a dongle.
  11. Deauthorize it first, then you can gift after the buyer sets up their Line6 account (if they don't already have one).
  12. As Zap says, if it is set up correctly it will work. I had to go into the Windows mixer under recording devices and select listen to this device. But on my system the latency is too much for me.
  13. Is it a older red faced Toneport or a newer black faced POD Studio? If it is a POD Studio, it likely has a POD Farm 2 license tied to the hardware depending on when the unit was first registered. If she did not purchase a separate software license there will be nothing to transfer. Either way, yes, your Metal Shop will work with it.
  14. Line6 has not discontinued support for the UX line, the UX8 is legacy, but the POD Studio GX, UX1 and UX2 are currently supported.
  15. Typically they will not refund an i-Lok purchase. But you could call to see if they will work something out. Other wise you can return the Metal Shop within 30 days and upgrade to POD Farm 2 Platinum, which has all the model packs. Also, i-Lok is the plug-in only, where as the hardware independent version is stand alone and plug-in.
  16. Did you run the license manager? Hopefully didn't purchase POD Farm 2 for i-Lok, it is not compatible with model packs.
  17. Zap, the DAW will capture, but the inputs are not routed to the analog outs or headphones without PF open.
  18. Have you tried it on another computer? Depending in what they sound like, static and pops may be an issue with the USB bit stream.
  19. There is no optimal way while using the ASIO driver.. The UX becomes your sound card. You might be able to select a different driver in your DAW and turn on monitoring, but you will likely hear too much latency. Or just plug headphones into your POD 2.0
  20. I think you may lose your tones. Best to write down your tones or take snapshots just in case.
  21. You do not need to gift anything if it is your account now (you can always change the e-mail). There should be no need to call Line6 either. Unless you are trying to gift to your (not the other guy's) account because of the username?? Depending on how he purchased the add-ons, some specials can not be gifted. Just register the new GX to your account, run newest Monkey and all that jazz. But other than that, yes to your bullet points.
  22. If you purchased it with model packs installed a reflash will wipe them out. Unless you can get the original owner to gift them or surrender their account info (they can delete all sensitive info first). The PODxt Live does come wit ha Power Pack and FX Junkie, so if those are the only ones, no worries.
  23. You can google it, but Line6 will not give out any specs for it. If you want to contact them directly give them a call. Good luck!!
  24. FWIW, the FX100 can store 100 presets (I wonder where they came up with the name  ) There is an amp out on the FX100. If your are streaming music to the FX100 AND using the amp out, the music is routed to the main outs only and the guitar only to the amp out.
