  1. Hi Captain. I replied to your other post on here and mentioned that I saw others had similar issues with Native and Reaper crashing. I also remembered something else that got posted in the main Helix group that you may want to check out - some said it a solution on Windows machines - I don't know, but you could check it out.
  2. Hi Captain, I posted about this to someone else on this forum about the fact that even though I use Logic Pro X, I have other DAWs that I use to check out issues that pop up. Last time I check out the latest version of Reaper on my Mac running the latest version of HXN everything was working just as it should - no crashing at all. Also, I have noticed that someone else has been posting on the main Helix pages about issues with Reaper causing crashes. Sorry I haven't got a quick fix for you, but I hope you get a response to your support ticket. BTW, not only have we got a global pandemic at the moment where a lot of the Line 6 staff are working remotely from home, but there has also been a little bit of civil unrest over there in the US of A. We are a little bit further away from it over here in West Yorkshire. See the Blue banner at the top of this Page regarding company status.
  3. I don't have dog I this fight, BUT it seems, from what I read, it appears that things are only “usually”, “unarguably” and “true” in your “book”, according to you. Yeah, right! EDIT: LMAO - your G string broke with an unpleasant ending. Hope that didn’t fly up your. A$$.
  4. Because it’s a free world and I can - but, before you judge me, make sure you are perfect. Oh, sorry, you already do think you are!
  5. Too late, we are all weird in here! ;)
  6. Yeah, you could and probably will. Alexander, you really are becoming tedious. As we know, opinions are like a$$holes - everybody has one, but you exceed the norm. I am starting to become very depressed! Yawn!
  7. You don’t mention if your unit went through the “rebuilding presets” process- if not you could try a factory reset. Try FS 10 & 11 first. Also, please ensure that you version of HX Edit and the firmware revision numbers are the same, as it is not unknown for an old version of the editor to launch instead of the latest. Here ya go! Reset Options Helix Floor/LT Button Combination Description 2 LED light Fun 3 & 4 Test Mode 5 & 6 Global reset 7 & 8 Reset setlists to factory, Keep IRs 8 & 9 Reset setlists to factory, Clear IRs 9 & 10 Reset setlists to factory, Global reset, Clear IRs 10 & 11 Upgrades existing presets to latest format 11 & 12 Clear current preset 5 & 12 Clear setlists, clear IRs, Return system settings to default 6 & 12 Safe boot mode To use Reset Options: Power off the Helix Hold the desired button combination Power on the Helix Release the button combination Please note: Buttons are numbered from top left to bottom right.
  8. Don't thank me yet - you may need to do this minor modification to get it to work with the HX Stomp as it has a different socket on the EXP input. SEE POST ABOVE from "mattzz". It should be simple and a still cheaper than the Mission pedals.
  9. Uh? Signal leaves Helix -> Signal returns to Helix (leaves the digital realm and then returns to the digital realm) What did you think was happening to the signal? Plus, did you think this would not have a cumulative effect?
  10. Nothing has to stay in the box, in the house forever - that’s why they created EBay. ;-)
  11. I have to go along with “rd2rk” need more info. Also, it would be good to know what version number your firmware and HX Edit are. Otherwise we have very little to go on!
  12. Wrong forum - this is the Helix user area. You should delete this thread and try again here: https://line6.com/support/forum/18-pod-hd/
  13. Hi, That sound like something has really gone wrong, but without seeing the unit it's just a guess. Here are the reset procedures to see if you can return it to a state where it can be updated. Suggest you try the last option first: ENC1 and ENC6 Helix Rack Since the rack doesn’t have footswitches, you’ll instead hold down a combination of the 6 encoders that are below the main LCD screen as you’re booting up. Button Combination Description ENC2 & ENC3 Reset globals ENC3 & ENC4 Restore stock presets and setlists ENC4 & ENC5 Restore stock presets, setlists, and IRs ENC5 & ENC6 Reset globals and restore presets, setlists, and IRs (entire factory restore) ENC1 & ENC3 Rebuild all presets ENC1 & ENC5 Clear all presets, setlists, and IRs ENC1 & ENC6 Will enter Update Mode (This feature is only available on firmware v1.06.5 and higher) If this doesn't help then I guess you need to get it returned as a faulty unit, if as you say, it is brand new. Good luck.
  14. Hi, Well as it over a year since the OP asked about M- Audio EXP pedals, and he hasn't been back to complain. I would guess he is happy with the gizmo as we have heard nothing to say different. As noted in my previous post above I use 2 of these with my Helix Floor unit - no problems - along with many others who use these pedals . Follow the advice about the switch underneath and the mini volume knob and you should be fine. I don't know why you are worrying because they are so cheap there is almost nothing to lose. Now if you bought a Mission pedal that's a lot of money for something to do the same job. Strange, I just noticed that I am wearing the M-Audio t-shirt again, so that was good value too. Have fun - stay safe.
  15. Just seen it - where you bin? No reason to go out. Oh, BTW, still no tuner in the Editor!
  16. Yes, that’s a new feature. The reason it was introduced was many users ask for some sort of visual clue that there really was a signal passing through. If you have your guitar on a stand and you notice the “signal present” flickering, you could go to your input block and adjust the noise gate to stop the flickering while your instrument is parked.
  17. Yes it can, and the reason for the disparaging/sarcastic remarks from me were because I read what the OP had asked. The exact statement was: - “So when I push foodswitch A it makes a high-hat sound, on B a snare, on D a basedrum”. Now triggering loops or starting and stopping a external beatbox (eg BeatBuddy) - no problem. Although, I would be interested to see how you tap out hi hat triplets using foot switch A plus 4 on the floor, at the same time, on switch D - all while playing guitar. Reminiscent of the old time “One Man Band” characters, cymbals between the knees, bass drum on the back, kazoo and harmonica in a harness and a tambourine on the hat etc.
  18. Try a restart (power up) of your LT while holding down foot switches 6 & 12. This should put you into "Safe Boot Mode". From here you should get to a stage where you can re-install the Firmware. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  19. I have to agree with the post above from “qwerty42”. It maybe something to do with ProTools settings, but in Logic Pro X, I can set a stereo input to record the fully processed Helix signal coming in on USB 1 & 2. The dry guitar is only on USB 7 and is recorded in a channel set to receive a mono source and it is set to send out on USB 7 (a single channel - mono). I can then process that DI through whatever sound mangling I wish. Could not be any simpler. You might be making this more tedious that it actually is, it should be fun.
  20. I tried using Helix in to Reaper on a Mac today and the results were perfect. I really don’t understand what could be going wrong.
  21. Oh, I hope you didn’t buy a big black box full of digital amp modelling and guitar fx thinking it was a drum machine - you need an 808 for that. Neither is it a trigger for playing back samples - I could sell you an AKAI S950 for that, it’s sitting in one of my racks gathering dust. You may be able to do something via MIDI to an external sample player, but that would be a lot of tap dancing to create a decent beat. Are you sure that you wanted a guitar processor, and if you did - did you research what it was capable of doing? Baffled! I really do despair!
  22. Boot Failure - try holding down Footswitches 6 & 12 while turning on the power to your Helix which should put you int Safe Boot Mode and should allow you to re-install the latest firmware. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  23. By way of clarification, I clicked on the Pilot's Guide option from under the Question Mark icon in the bottom left of the HXN window. It opens straight in to Acrobat and when I looked at the file permissions, under Security it shows Printing is "Allowed" along with content Copying for Accessibility. See Pic - Hope that clears things up.
