Here is a previous post with some filled inhttp://line6.com/support/topic/18804-lets-put-the-real-name-to-the-presets/?hl=artist

Just for balance, I don't feel like mine jumps around and very happy with it. Play live once or twice a week for the last year, certainly find the improved granularity a big plus. Appreciate it must be a pain if it's not working for some others, but I wouldn't want a step backwards.

I had similar thoughts and also with some of the poor out of the box videos, even by well known guitar pages. Wondered if sales therefore finance for longevity of development would be affected. Still, it does what I need very well, so I'm not that bothered !

I had a small unexpected issue copying factory presets to user setlist 3 on the floor unit, no editor. After running through setlists 1+2 and individually coping favourites to setlist 3, I went to play through the setlist 3 versions and all the presets sounded corrupted incomplete and poor, looked ok on the display. After a reboot they all sounded good as meant.

Others will be better help, but a few things I've read:Can you provide full details re mac/pc os etc, rack/floor unit and method you followed, was it exactly as described, editor first? Can try booting in safe mode, turn on holding buttons 6+12 (floor unit) http://www.helixhelp.com/pmwiki.php?n=Main.ResetOptions Avoid certain browsers, Microsoft edge can corrupt the downloaded files, chrome is recommended. usb hubs and front ports can cause issues. Try a different computer...

Also, in Global settings the default for Headphone Monitor is Multi, but this includes the digital out which unaffected by the Global Eq. Try setting it to XLR. (I do add some global hi cut on top of the Cab/IR block hi cut purely for headphone monitoring)

Edit: I'm still on 2.01 Could it be a hardware thing? I've never experienced this behaviour and had a volume block in all my presets since January, 60 gigs and a fair amount of home play/recording. (Set to global) Kind of completely different as yours is switching to a value different to position?, but I did have something similar with Pod kidney bean v1 where a switched to preset, not related to knob positions could jump to values of a knob, not necessarily due to vibration, just jumping to the set position unless I zeroed knobs pre to choosing preset. They were digital pots? Vetta2 combo did it also but due to vibration, used strips of cut up mousemat with tight slots cutout for the knobs.

I found much the same, but wondered if it was my 54 year old gig beaten ears. Do you apply much high cut in the cab? My brain wants to think I might be losing some HF air in the reverb, but I do find the difference barely perceptible. It matters in the way I like to split at the end of the chain, 1/4" to poweramp/cab, IR to xlr to pa

Good point

I think as is, the number of steps up the scale, is fine. For instance with the minor pentatonic option set to +1, when you play the root you get the second note of the scale, a minor third, when you play the second note of the scale (the minor 3rd) you get a major second interval, perfect 4th from the root. I don't really see with the various options how they could label it differently. Similarly with the harmonic minor, set to +1, root note gives a major 2nd, 2nd note gives a minor 2nd, 6th note gives a minor 3rd.

As far as the overall sound changing/improving after a firmware update that's not a just a Line6 thing, but maybe as with Fractal they could add a comment to the instructions From the Fractal page: Installing new firmware to your Fractal Audio Systems products adds features and improvements. Your presets are never overwritten, but things may sound different after a major update.

Did you set global settings headphone monitor to xlr? If set to All you will be adding in the 1/4" out with no cab sim.
-
Edit: from the post below it appears I am wrong, ignore this...I'll get my coat... Apologies if you are right, but i think you have that wrong, if you look at page 7 of the manual. DI mentioned something similar about better performance with high impedance phones in a previous post.

One thing that makes quite a difference, particularly if you use global eq, is to change the global setting Headphone Monitor from All to XLR. With the All setting you are adding in the digital output which is unaffected by the global eq. Make things alot smoother to my ear

-18dBVS digital is equivalent to 0VU analogue http://www.soundonsound.com/sound-advice/q-how-much-headroom-should-i-leave-24-bit-recording

A would be solution, the onboard exp1/exp2 toeswitch state should ideally be recalled as saved per snapshot, it seems strange that it doesn't work like this as the other stomp switches do. Engaging the wah block by switching to exp1 in a snapshot, then changing snapshot where the wah block is off but as exp1 is still selected messes it all up, so now the pedal is still controlling the wah even though the block is off and the volume block is on but the pedal is no longer controlling it.

I do change IR, it's Hi/Low Cut, and level with snapshots

Presumably Fremen's name Thibault de Robillard

Recording level of -18dB is about righthttp://www.soundonsound.com/sound-advice/q-how-much-headroom-should-i-leave-24-bit-recording

Did you also upgrade to editor 2.01 as well as firmware 2.01?
-
I had this behaviour with snapshots set to recall, but when set to discard it ceased to be a problem and each snapshot change reverts to it's initial saved state. I use 'recall' for editing and 'discard' for performing.

I find the new tuner with added granules is much improved to my ear.

Hi, I sometimes use my Vetta2 return for a stereo poweramp/cab, pretty decent. As a starting point folks seem to like eq with a low cut 60Hz and hi cut of 6kHz. Most would recommend these cuts applied in the cab block or an eq block and reserve global eq to adjust all presets for different monitoring situations.

Just checked again. What appears to have happened is that the value for the presence setting has been placed in the presence and channel volume setting. Before upgrade from 2.00 to 2.01, snapshot 1 had the SoloLeadClean amp: presence 0.1, channel volume 7.8. After upgrade and importing preset. both were set to 0.1 Snapshot 2 had the SoloLeadCleanamp: presence 0, channel volume 4.5, both were set to 0 after importing. Same happened with snapshot 5. All other settings in these snapshots were retained correctly and the other the other snapshots, 2 amps (Brit2204 SoloLeadOd) and 8 FX blocks were fine. No parameters controlled with expression pedal, Global as standard per preset. Standard Wah and Volume pedal set up with built in controller. Not a real problem for me as I copied the settings from an earlier version of the preset. I would like to add that I adore my Helix. Had it since January and it's been great...but since the new version of the tuner and the addition of snapshots it is everything i could wish for. Line 6 team have done an amazing job.

Just updated to 2.01. In my main preset I have just been building in 2.00, with 3 amps and 8 snapshots, when I reloaded in 2.01 the 3 snapshots that use Solo Lead Clean had their channel volumes mistakenly changed to 0. The preset had been working fine in 2.00 I had saved 11 versions through the building stage. After importing post update 1-3 retained the correct value, 4-11 only had reset that specific parameter. No other anomalies noticed so far
