  1. I can verify that. I am running HX Edit v2.82 on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit version 1903, Build 18362.476. I am using the Line 6 drivers that were installed with the HX Edit v2.82 package. I am not experiencing any issues.
  2. See my first post, then, for troubleshooting.
  3. No, I don't think that makes sense. In your new setup (snapshots on top row) you will need to press the MODE footswitch to change the display so that the Looper FS is visible in the top right position. Pressing that FS will then engage the Looper. If it's the 1-switch looper (see Peter's comment above) the display will not change but the looper becomes active and the FS LED changes to reflect its status. If it's the 6-switch Looper the display should change to the familiar one that you are expecting.
  4. It's been mentioned before but worth repeating...... You can create presets that are not designed to be a good sound in themselves but serve only as a repository for your custom block settings. The empty preset slots in the Templates setlist is a good place for these. Then when designing a new preset you can copy/paste these blocks rather than add a new block with its default settings.
  5. So the looper display used to work properly and now doesn't? What changed? Firmware update, factory reset, new power adapter or power bar, ...? If nothing changed I would create a full system backup, as well as individual setlists, and try a factory reset followed by, if necessary, a firmware reinstallation.
  6. I believe he means use your ears.
  7. Return it? If not feasible, open a support ticket. Sounds like there may be a reason it was disposed of.
  8. Does this happen in all Tuner modes? Three modes were introduced in firmware v2.7 as follows: Three New Tuner Types—From the Tuner page, turn the Type knob to choose between "Fine" (color-changing needle tuner with fine tuning bar), "Coarse" (color-changing needle tuner with no fine tuning bar), and "Strobe"
  9. Re: changing directions. The MIN value corresponds to the pedal being in the heel position, and the MAX value corresponds to toe position. But your MIN value can be greater than your MAX value. In other words you can set the MAX value to 0 (or whatever) and the MIN value higher and the pedal will operate in the 'other' direction.
  10. You say you bought Helix Native 'about' 6 months ago. Check the purchase date carefully because 6 months (180 days) is the required time period to own Helix Native and still be able to sell the qualifying Helix product (in your case the HX Stomp) without losing your Helix license. https://shop.line6.com/helixnativeterms.html?_ga=2.117745609.1508185304.1574257554-522953163.1526131337
  11. Yes - he may be talking about hearing this while recording. It seemed, though, that he was talking about a VST applied to a pre-recorded track in which case the Record Monitoring setting would be irrelevant. I guess he will clarify for us.
  12. There must be something amiss in your setup. Standard VSTs should work the same with HX Stomp as they do with any other audio interface device. I know you are an experienced DAW/VST user but I have no idea what your previous setup and recording practices were so please forgive me if the following is already obvious and understood..... Much can depend on what you are recording, and what you mean by the 'clean' signal from the HX Stomp. Are you recording the dry (unprocessed) guitar signal sent directly to the DAW track from the HX Stomp input or are you recording the wet (processed) but perhaps clean tone sent from the HX Stomp output. or both? In other words, what is/are the Record Input to the track(s) you are recording in the DAW? The difference here can make a significant difference to the resulting sound when using VSTs, especially a distortion VST. Normally an analog distortion pedal is placed between the guitar and the amp in a signal chain, meaning the distortion effect is applied to the signal before it hits the amp. The distortion effect is routed through the amp where the amp settings are greatly affected by the amount of incoming distortion gain/level. To replicate this in a DAW you would need to record the dry guitar signal on a separate track and apply the distortion VST to that track. If you apply the distortion VST to the wet track that recorded the HX Stomp-processed clean signal you will get a different result, the same as if you place an analog distortion pedal in your amp's FX Loop rather than before the amp. In the latter case the distortion pedal's settings have no impact on the preamp; it just affects the amp's output signal. IMO the best way to use VSTs in a DAW is to ALWAYS record the dry track and optionally record the wet track simultaneously. This give you the most flexibility in post-processing using VSTs. If you want to use a VST effect that corresponds to an analog pedal that you would normally place between your guitar and amp (e.g. distortion) then record the dry signal and apply ALL VSTs (including amp processing VSTs) to that track. Conversely, if you just want to use VST effects that correspond to analog pedals that you would normally place in your amp's FX Loop (e.g. delay) then you can use the recorded wet signal and apply these VSTs to that track. Of course, depending on the routing capabilities of your audio interface and DAW you may be able to send the dry/pre-amp-VST-processed track back to a hardware device for re-amping.
  13. I've been using RF2 with a pair of P-180s mounted stageside at above-head height and never had any noticeable dropouts. These are smaller venues usually with 50-300 people.
  14. Yes - I'm too old to appreciate metal. I guess I'm like my Dad in the early sixties..... "She loves you yeah, yeah, yeah? What the hell is that?"
  15. Looking at the title of this thread, I'm not sure which side of the coin this video supports. Are you saying that Helix is or is not good enough for metal? Is this 'music' an example of metal?
  16. You could also do this sequence and avoid having to back up individual setlist before updating the firmware. However, I would still recommend that you do back up individual setlists but using this method it is not necessary. - create a full system backup before updating firmware - update the firmware. Note that this does not install any new factory setlists that might be available with the new firmware. - perform a factory reset with the new firmware. This installs the new factory setlists and default global settings and also wipes out all other setlists and IRs. - restore the full system backup. Use the setlist options and select to install only the user setlists; leave the recently updated factory setlists intact. This restores your custom global settings, IRs, and all selcted setlists.
  17. Just as a reference, in 2ms sound travels 2.24 ft through the air under normal conditions. So if you're standing farther away than that from your amp/speakers you are experiencing a longer lag/latency.
  18. I assume you own a computer of some sort, since you were able to make this post. You somehow managed to get over the same concern at that time. Purchasing Helix is no different from purchasing a computer or virtually any other product, technological or not. Do you also own a car, or bicycle, or skateboard, or is the knowledge that there will be a better one next year too much of an obstacle?
  19. I replaced the L.R. Baggs piezos with Graphtech several years ago on a Variax 300. I found them to be a noticeable improvement - brighter and louder. However your situation is different - I can't speak to how they compare to the factory Variax Standard piezo.
