Please open a support ticket for this. Line 6 will want to know what happened here. -
StageScape monitor jack is "reversed".
silverhead replied to Tcoz's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Never heard of this one before. Seems like a faulty sensor on the Mon C jack. Probably needs servicing. You might get some some further info on what's going on by fiddling with the I/O reassignment feature described on page 2-5 of the M20d Advanced Guide (Rev D). But I don't think that will lead to a fix. -
Can't do exactly what you want because a patch is always recalled in the state it was last saved. If it was saved when Snapshot 1 was active that's how it will be recalled, every time. You would need to copy patch 1A to, say, patch 1C then change to Snapshot 2 before saving 1C.

You're right that both the 1-switch and 6-switch looper blocks have the same features. The difference is operability of the features - using 1 switch without changing modes/views, or using 6 switches in a different mode/view.

Yes. If you have difficulty registering it in your account you just need to contact Line 6. They will help you get it registered and then you'll be fine. If you have contact with the previous owner you can ask them to remove the registration from their account. Then you should not need Line 6 to help.

Check your Helix preset to make sure that there is no mono block in the signal chain that follows the stereo FX block that you are expecting to hear.

Using POD HD500x with an amplifier and Variax Line 6 standard guitar.
silverhead replied to kakarontzas's topic in POD HD
Yes there's a sort of override. In System Settings Page 7 - the Variax Options - there's a setting for Variax Control. You can select Preset or Global, with the Global setting being the override. And yes, 4CM may be overkill but it is the most flexible arrangement - and unless one knows about it he/she may not know that they would actually prefer the flexibility of using either a POD amp model or the real amp at any given time. And yes, FX Return input would be better than the regular input. -
Try restarting your computer and your Helix.

Using POD HD500x with an amplifier and Variax Line 6 standard guitar.
silverhead replied to kakarontzas's topic in POD HD
re: Q1 - yes this will only work with the VDI cable. I would leave the modelling activated on the Variax guitar but it doesn't matter where the knob is positioned. You're right - the modeling selection is made via command from the POD. -
You said your Helix firmware is v2.70. What version of the HX Edit program are you using? It should also be v 2.70.

Using POD HD500x with an amplifier and Variax Line 6 standard guitar.
silverhead replied to kakarontzas's topic in POD HD
Q1: No - the guitar modelling does not happen in the POD and will not work with any electric guitar. The modelling happens in the Variax - it's just the model selection that is stored in the POD preset and activated in the Variax when the preset is selected. When the Variax Model is stored in the HD500X preset you do not need to worry about the physical knob/setting on the Variax guitar. The stored preset model is activated on the guitar regardless of its physical model selector setting. Q2: For best results if you don't want to use any capabilities of your amp you should not use an amp at all. Use an FRFR speaker/monitor instead. If you must use your amp you should consider using what's called the 4-Cable Method (4CM). There's lots of info about that here if you search for it. -
Have you tried the other method, using the Export button instead of the pop-up menu? The button is in the top right corner of the Preset list - above the Preset '01A Keith Me' text. Does this method work?

Trouble Importing OwnHammer IRs into Helix LT/Helix Edit
silverhead replied to bdolson1988's topic in Helix
No - as far as I know no factory presets use IRs and the factory firmware does not install any IRs. -
Trouble Importing OwnHammer IRs into Helix LT/Helix Edit
silverhead replied to bdolson1988's topic in Helix
Any existing IRs were added by a previous user. You can safely delete and replace them. Note, however, that the existence of these likely means that they are being used by some existing presets also added/created by the previous user. So you should expect the sound of some existing presets to change quite dramatically if you delete the IRs. Note also that the IRs may in fact be different. The name display only shows the first x number of characters (don't know exactly) so the imported files may differ in the final characters of the filename. -

Should be fine now. -
Variax Workbench
silverhead replied to guitarplaya2000's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
That's curious. I can see Workbench HD v2.14, clearly stated as compatible with Win 10, on the Downloads page. Use the middle (Software) field to select Workbench HD in the drop down menu. -
Variax Workbench
silverhead replied to guitarplaya2000's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Are you talking about the original Workbench or the newer Workbench HD program? You want to use the latter one with the HD500x/JTV products. I know Workbench HD is compatible with Win10. -
Same here. No issues with looper playback volume.

Will phantom power damage the receiver?
silverhead replied to Digitalman42's topic in XD-V Digital Wireless Microphones
Thanks for posting this. Good to know. -
My recent experience with XD-V75 receivers is that they receive a sufficiently strong signal to work without any antennas connected at all (1/2 wave or P180) when the transmitter (handheld XD-V75 microphone) is within a few feet of the receiver. In other words, the antenna connector itself acts as an antenna for very short distances. So I would expect that the adjacent IEM transmitter would be seen as interfence by a wireless receiver in the same rack. Can't say for sure because I haven't actually done or tested this - just reporting my experience in observing that a wireless signal is still received by a nearby transmitter even with no antenna connected. EDIT: I have no experience with IEMs but I believe they typically operate in the 600MHz bandwidth while the Line 6 XD-V wireless mics (for which you would be using the P180 antennas) operate in the 2.4GHz bandwidth. So even if the XD-V receiver is picking up the IEM transmission I don't know if it would amount to interference. Others will be more knowledgeable about this.

I haven't been able to find the answer to this in Line 6 documentation or on this forum. Anyone know for sure? -
Pod Farm not recognizing auth in Acid 7
silverhead replied to Xerxces2112's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Since you don't currently have an authorized device for Pod Farm 1 you will have to spend some money to get one. I understand you don't have it to throw around. But it seems you have a decision to make about how much $$ to spend and what you will get for it. Is there any specific reason that you want to use Pod Farm 1, other than the expectation that it will be less costly than alternatives? In order to use it you will need to obtain a used authorized Line 6 audio interface device like GuitarPort, the Toneport series (GX, UX1, UX2), or Pod X3. I have no idea about their availability or cost in the used marketplace but they are legacy products. You can learn more about them in the Legacy Products section of this website (see bottom of the Products page). As legacy products they are no longer being updated. There are occasional reports of driver incompatibilities with newer operating systems like Windows 10. You should compare the cost/benefit of these to the alternative ..... The updated Line 6 product is Pod Farm 2.5. It can be purchased with a hardware independent license which allows you to use it with any audio interface, including your Pod XT if you wish (although you say it sounds like crap so you probably don't wish that). Or you could purchase a current Line 6 audio interface like the Pod Studio or Sonic Port which include a Pod Farm 2.5 license. You can find info about these products in the Products section of this website. And if you want a superior state-of-the-art plug-in consider Helix Native, also available in a hardware independent license or at a discounted price for Helix family product owners. -
Pod Farm not recognizing auth in Acid 7
silverhead replied to Xerxces2112's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Anyone can download Pod Farm but it won't run without a license, which is associated with a compatible Line 6 hardware product or an iLok device. The Pod X3 and some other legacy products included a Pod Farm license but apparently not the Pod Xt. Pod Farm 2.5 is also a licensed product but you can purchase a hardware independent license which means it can run with non-Line 6 audio interface devices. You can't do that with the original Pod Farm.
