eriksan007
Ok, I figured out a way to bug report for Helix Native, just select "No Product" in the Ticket creation section. Then there will be a Helix Native option.
jim_bassett
Hardware: HX One Firmware: 3.71 Bug: Right arrow button does not work as expected (like HX Stomp) in effect menu. I just find the arrow buttons easier to press (than the effect button) and am used to this workflow from the stomp. Steps to reproduce: Press the effect button to see the current effect selected in it's category Press the left arrow button (to get to the top level effect category menu), then scroll to a different category with the effect knob Push the right arrow button Expected behaviour: It would take you to the list of effects in the selected category (like HX stomp does) Actual behaviour: It takes you back to the list of effects in the previous category Workaround: use the effect button to select instead
adalben
Hardware: Helix Floor Firmware: 3.71 Bug: No patch/Snapshot change. My Helix is configured for snapshot change, and I use button 1 and 6 for up/down patch change Steps to reproduce: Press 1 or 6 button very fast, in order to change patch: after some patch change the system locks up, and do not respond to patch/snapshot change. Swith to tuner works, but after exiting from tuner, patch/snapshot change are still locked. Workaround: no acceptable workaround: I have to turn off/on the Helix If needed I can provide my Helix backup and/or a video of the problem

If you switch faster than the processor can handle that process you can crash the system. I'm sure they're aware of this, as it's been noted before, it just might be an issue that the system can't tell it's in an in-between state and at the same time keep track of multiple transitory LOAD requests. That would be my guess. You can always open a support ticket and ask about it.

You should verify things in a regular thread before posting as a bug. This is NOT a bug. It works fine on both my Floor and my HXS. I suggest that you perform a factory reset.
roadtosalvation
Hey all, I didn't see any post that covers a potential bug I've found yet so posting here. I am using Helix Native 3.71 on Windows 11. My PC is decently high-end, 32gb RAM, 7900x CPU, etc. I've confirmed this occurs in both Cubase Pro 13 and FL Studio 21.2.2. UMC404HD interface.Fresh installs of everything. I've made a thread on Reddit showing users with different hardware set-ups (Mac) and different DAWs having the same issue however: Helix Native works fine once added to a channel initially, and even after switching through a few different presets, but eventually after switching through many presets (30+) it stops outputting any audio. The plugin still does show the input levels are present (see pics), but even if you disable all the effects or switch presets, once it enters this broken state it will no longer output any audio. If you restart the DAW or delete the plugin from the channel and re-add it then it works fine with any preset again. In FL Studio, it actually makes a quick buzzing sound at the moment it breaks. When this occurs, other instances of Native on other channels don't cease functioning. I've also gotten this just randomly too- without switching through a bunch of presets. ie: Just changing 1 preset after loading a project can cause this to occur. This feels like it might be a memory leak within the plugin; resources are being allocated when switching between presets but never released, so eventually it presents an OOM exception in Native. It seems to happen faster when switching between more intensive presets (ie: DEVIN TOWNSEND). However, I don't see any increase in memory usage in the Task Manager when this happens. Does anyone know why this is occurring and how to resolve it? Would any other information could help debug this? I went to the bug report page but Helix Native did not appear as a valid product that I could register, and thus I could not report a bug against it. Greatly appreciate any insight, thanks. Hi, Open a ticket with Customer Support: - https://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html Type “Native” into the Search function box and hit return. When it pops up a window saying that nothing matched your query, you will also see a button that allows you to open a ticket. On the next page - click the “No Product Applies” option and fill in your report in the space provided. Hope this helps/makes sense.
lou-kash
For the record, my following support ticket has now been logged as a bug: Quote HX Stomp, firmware 3.71: When I save an Amp+Cab block as User Defaults, it is no longer possible to switch cabs. Regardless which cab I select from the list via HX Edit, the sound remains the same. As far as I recall, it used to work as expected in earlier firmware versions. My current workaround was to revert the Amp+Cab block to Factory Defaults, then it was possible to apply a different cab. […] after full reset it's the same […] reinstalled firmware 3.71, reset everything to factory settings, created a new preset with just Amp+Cab Ampeg B15, made my settings on both amp and cab, saved as User Defaults and… I can't change the cab. It's stuck at 1×15 Ampeg B15. As soon as I reset this block to Factory Defaults via the Action button, I can switch cabs again. Same with other random Amp+Cab models. […] tested it all the way back to firmware 3.15 which still only had the "legacy" cabs in the A+C blocks. This is the last version where I can save an A+C block User Defaults, and then change the cab subsequently upon recalling the block. […] it's a regression from v3.15 where it was possible. In v3.71 it's not even possible in the "Guit/Bass+Legacy" mode. Quote […] We have logged it as a bug. Thanks for reporting it.

I guess you must have a valid reason to be running a version of the Firmware from 2019, but each to their own. Although, if you simply update to the latest and greatest v3.71.0 you should find everything works just fine. Plus you will have lots more toys to play with. Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: You will also need to update your Firmware to take advantage of those “200 useful presets” you enthusiastically commented on that are bundled free with the Craig Anderton Big Book of Helix Tricks and Tips! Schmalle
If I use the Poly Pitch and Controller Assign a footswitch to toggle between two Intervals e.g. 0 and 12 semitones: the first interval is ramped to in ShiftTime but the second interval takes an aeon to get to. This should take the same time to get back. (This has nothing to do with ReturnTime which is for transitioning to bypass.)
daedalus359
Hardware: Helix Floor Firmware: 3.71.0 Bug: Can't connect to any computer via USB. Steps to reproduce: Install HX Edit on any computer (e.g. my Windows 10 pc) Turn on Helix Plug in to any USB port Result: device manager reports "device descriptor request failed". Helix does not show up in HX Edit or any other Line 6 software, and the drivers I have installed are not applied to the device. This problem started shortly after I received the Helix in November 2023. I was able to connect to USB intermittently at first, but never for very long. Steps taken to fix (sorry for some vague descriptions, it has been a few months since I did some of these): Tried three different Windows PCs, a Mac, different USB ports, different USB cables including a 3 ft. shielded one. Reinstalled drivers and various Line 6 software. Performed a variety of different resets on the Helix hardware itself. Disabled a Windows virtualization feature that apparently causes problems sometimes. Various generic fixes online for the USB error message I got in Device Manager. For example, changing USB power settings, etc. Sent the Helix in for repairs at an authorized service center in northern KY. The tech there replicated the problem at first, but then got it working on his end after replacing the small USB B socket on the Helix. After that, he upgraded the firmware to its current version, which I assume means the USB was working at some stage. I'm pretty sure he tested the fix with my USB cable. Since getting the Helix back, I am having the same error as before. Again, I tried reinstalling with the current version of HX Edit, and I tried on a friend's PC as well. No luck, same error as before. At this point, it sounds like Line 6 support suggests mailing over to them in CA for another go at a repair. I live on the other end of the country, so it will probably cost me several hundred dollars on top of everything else. If anyone has another suggestion that could prevent me from throwing more money away to get this thing working, I would appreciate it. jam-mill
Was cycling through the various factory presets in 3.7X on the Line 6 Helix Floor and selected 05A Placter Clean. Engaged the wah (weeper) block. Rocking the expression pedal back and forth had no effect on the sound. HX Edit revealed that the 'Position' parameter was indeed changing from 0% to 100% according to the position of the pedal. Any ideas what might be wrong here? Thank-You, -jack P.S. Further research using HX Edit indicates that this preset has a bug wherein the EXP Pedal Toe switch was not also assigned to the wah (weeper) block. I am running 3.6 and I've performed a factory reset this time and every time I've updated firmware as directed in the installation instructions. FWIW, I'm a bassist, so I use split paths a lot. Yes I read the link posted above. I understand the principles, but as I mentioned above, I'm seeing a different result to what's expected. Pan law would dictate a 3db increase for Y and A/B splits with the balance centered, whereas I'm seeing a 3db decrease. This also dictates a 3db decrease for crossover split whereas I'm seeing a 6db decrease Hi, I know your post has more than one year, but it remained unsolved, so since I had a bit of time I quickly re-tested everything (I'm on fw 3.71) and it's still as I wrote it 5 years ago in this post: see attached screenshots (the sine wave at the input is -19dB and the VU meter is calibrated to -19dB) could it be that you were doing the tests not at the default settings for the split/merge blocks? Split A/B "Route To" default is even=center Split Y "Balance A/B" defaults are both center the merge block mixer is at unity with centered pans or could it be that in fw 3.6 those defaults were in some way different, maybe? strange but possible bug anyway please read my full post, especially the paragraph titled: "I'd like to warn you of potential problems I found with the parameters inside the split blocks" I hope to be helpful bye Lorenzo
mousepunk
I have problems saving the new favorites if the same block but with some other settings is already there in Favorites. When I choose the option "Save as a new favorite" the HX Edit is just quit working. The list of Favorites is far from 128, maybe like 20 blocks. Anybody experienced anything similar? Should I re-install the HX Edit? Macbook Pro M1 Pro, Mac Os Ventura 13.6.6, HX Edit 3.70, HX Stomp 3.71. Another TGP user confirmed he has the same issue and even made a video: http://bobmartin1111.com/BobMusic/HXEditBug.mov Support ticket created too. HonestOpinion
@daedalus359 Here is what MS Copilot kicks back. It appears you already tried most or all of this. Maybe there is something in here that you haven't though. Btw, looks like you tested with multiple USB cables already, but I would still try yet another one. Copilot response: "It sounds like you’re encountering the “device descriptor request failed” error with your Line 6 Helix. This issue can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can try to resolve it: Plug into a Different USB Port: Sometimes, simply using a different USB port can resolve the issue. Avoid using USB hubs and try connecting directly to the back of your PC. Update Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your Helix and your PC’s USB controllers. You can update drivers through the Device Manager. Reinstall HX Edit: If you’re already using the latest version of HX Edit, try reinstalling it. This will also reinstall the necessary drivers for your Helix1. Disable USB Selective Suspend: This setting can sometimes cause issues with USB devices. You can disable it through the Power Options in Windows. Use the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in troubleshooter that can automatically fix various hardware issues. You can run it by typing msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic in the Run dialog (Windows Key + R)2. Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your operating system is up to date, as updates can include fixes for USB-related issues. Uninstall and Reinstall USB Controllers: Through the Device Manager, you can uninstall the USB controllers and then restart your PC. Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers3. any other suggestions? Certainly! Here are a few additional suggestions you can try to resolve the “device descriptor request failed” error with your Line 6 Helix: Try a Different USB Cable: Sometimes the issue can be as simple as a faulty USB cable. Use a different, preferably shorter, USB cable to see if that resolves the problem1. Check for Hidden Devices: In Device Manager, click on “View” and select “Show hidden devices.” Look for any greyed-out USB devices and uninstall them. This can help clear any conflicts2. Disable Fast Startup: Fast Startup can sometimes cause issues with USB devices. You can disable it by going to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do > Change settings that are currently unavailable > Uncheck "Turn on fast startup"3. Update BIOS/UEFI Firmware: An outdated BIOS/UEFI firmware can sometimes cause USB issues. Check your motherboard manufacturer’s website for any available updates2. Use a Powered USB Hub: If your Helix is not getting enough power from your PC’s USB port, using a powered USB hub can help provide the necessary power1. Check for Interference: Other electronic devices can sometimes interfere with USB connections. Try moving your Helix and PC away from other electronic devices to see if that helps1." theElevators
Just discovered a bug that I'm pretty sure existed for a while. Basically there's an incompatibility between the Helix Floor and Helix LT. Rather than gracefully letting the user know that the feature is not supported, the Helix LT crashes and sometimes fails to boot if you happen to be on the problematic preset. On a Helix Floor, enable 10-button stomp mode, use the Command Center to assign what the left-most buttons do. So in my case, I assigned those buttons to select next/previous presets. I created a backup. Then went on Helix LT and restored from the backup. On Helix LT every time I go into the stomp mode Helix LT freezes and becomes unresponsive. If you were on the problematic preset before powering down the Helix LT and you are currently in the stomp mode, then Helix fails to boot with the black screen. Solution: on Helix Floor, remove assignment for the left-most buttons in Command Center for all applicable presets, create a backup. Helix LT will not have any issues restoring from the backup and using those presets. --- PS: Up until now I didn't use Command Center except replicating what my snapshot view looks like MINUS the up/down buttons. That way I can press the mode button and disable up/down buttons. That's the only use case for me personally.
boynigel
My LT, which is completely up to date as of this writing, locks up if i toggle presets too fast. usually happens after the 5th press or so of the footswitch. appears to be directly related to the foot switches because i can scroll fast via the rotary dial and it won't lock up. this has been a constant through at least the last 2-3 updates. I was able to go to different snapshots, but not go to a different preset; until I restarted HX Edit. This unstable behavior/freezing/crashing is happening quite a lot more frequently now than on version 3.11. I'm using a Mac FWIW. And my crash report is attached, maybe somebody will find it useful. UFODeathCult
Bug in the Dual Pitch block: On both my Stomp (3.71) and in Helix Native (3.7), the Dual Pitch block glitches occasionally when the pitches are assigned to an expression pedal (Stomp) and automation (Native). I've set the pitches to +24, and use it kind of like a whammy, but sometimes one of the octaves doesn't return to zero audibly. Visually the slider moves around on the screen, but it's obvious that the pitches aren't changing correctly. This isn't happening every time, but it consistently inconsistent, on both hardware and software. Occasionally getting stuck two octaves up is unnerving. Please take a look into this. Stomp: 3.71 Native: 3.7 Mac OS: 14.4.1 Logic: 10.8.
Teerexness
I didn't realize that "the missing link" would be the log-in failure to even start this update. I've had the same log-in credentials for at least a decade, have it written down, double checked it, failed every time. This doesn't exactly give me a warm fuzzy feeling about this update. I'll stick with 3.7 thanks.

Of course, you COULD contact support. That's what I'd do, but I got no problems with the update. You're Welcome!

Check your computer settings.

And, I've had the same Line 6 credentials since 2012. Which setting would keep a username and a password from working?

You may have noticed that my credentials have me signed in here just fine. It's when I use these exact same credentials to download the firmware (from the new HX Edit software), I get the "Sign-in failed, incorrect username or password". But they aren't incorrect. Simple solution - bypass using HX Edit for the download, and go for a local install using the Line 6 Updater app, or Line 6 Control. A “Login Failure” is not a bug in the Firmware, most likely a glitch.

That's what they're there for! The newest version of HX Edit not being able to sign-in and download the latest firmware software for the Helix is a bug in my book. Especially since this is the very first thing that you are presented with upon opening this software. And why is it so important to sign-in to Line 6 all the time? I just downloaded the newest editor software for my Valeton GP-200 AND the new firmware software AND updated it without having to sign in to/for anything. This is software for musical gear, not bank accounts or credit cards.

I assume you already tried to reset your password to fix this? That's always the first thing I try with sites that give me fits, it always works.
