If it was 2 channels this could work, but not with 3. I would use Snapshots for this. You don't get color coding, but you still have your Stomps available for other uses. IIRC, color coded Snapshots are planned for a future update.
-
This will depend on which PC+ model you're using, 112 or 212. Since you specified using two stereo paths, I assume you have two PC212+ cabs, else you don't need separate stereo paths. Using L6 Link, you may have a problem, since, IIRC, there's a bug when using two PC212+ cabs. Sorry, I don't remember the details. In either case, in theory, when you connect L6 Link from Helix to Cab 1 and Cab 1 to Cab 2 (via L6 Link), by default Cab 1 is configured as LEFT and Cab 2 is configured as RIGHT. In your preset, have separate Output Blocks for each amp path. Pan one LEFT and the other RIGHT. Since I only have a single PC212+, I can't personally attest to how well this works and, as mentioned, I don't recall the details of the bug. Let me know how it turns out.

OK, so I watched the video and now have BOTH the necessary presets. It looks like the opposite of my previous post. It's YOUR Helix that's set to 8 Footswitches. Change it to 10 Footswitches in Stomp mode and it works like the video.
-
He apparently has Stomp Mode set to 8 switches, in which case FS1 becomes BANK UP and, again, cannot be re-assigned. Only, in this case, it won't perform the re-assigned function either. IOW - What you're trying to do only works in Stomp Mode/10 Switches, and the BANK UP/DOWN function can't be changed in either mode.
-
As for 6 and 12, you can ADD a function to them, but they will still retain their default functions. So, if you assign FS6 to scroll Snapshots, when pressed it will change Snapshots, but will also switch modes. Same goes for FS12. It will change Snapshot, but will also change the tempo.
-
The assignments you make in CommandCenter apply in STOMP mode, and to the Stomps visible in PRESET mode.. You can't re-assign the UP/DOWN switches in PRESET mode.

Sorry, can't DL a picture to my Helix. Attach the preset and say what you're trying to do. You want help, and I'm willing to take the time to do so, but if you won't take the time to provide what I need to help you..... BTW - it took you 5 times as long to make that picture as it would have taken to attach the preset.
-
Without knowing exactly what you're trying to accomplish, it's hard to know what's going on. When you say that the switches retain their default behavior, what does that mean? Switches do not have a default behavior, they must be told what to do. What did you tell them to do that you're calling their default behavior? If you attach a copy of the preset (not a picture) with a description of what you want to do, that would be helpful. Also, are you using a Floor, Rack or LT?

Only a year later and still no fix. I've since sold the 112 and got a PC212+. Sounds great, but has minor issues of it's own. Support says there MIGHT be a PC update in queue, from which I infer that it has a lower priority than the Helix coffeemaker attachment.

The majority of PC+ users (as reflected in the LARGE Digital and Modeling Forum on TGP) think that the speaker emulations sound like a$$. YMMV. Only way to know for sure is to use Snapshots to A/B between cabs, IRs and speakers. When you have time, of course.

The Voiceprint has an FX Loop, so VP FX Send>HXS L/Mono In>HXS L/Mono Out>VP FX Return>VP XLR Out>Mixer/Amp. HXS Global Settings INS/OUTS>VOLUME CONTROLS should probably be set to PHONES, which sets the OUTPUT to UNITY (OUT=IN). The HXFX I/O might need to be set to LINE level, depends on what the VP expects to see. Turning the VOICE control full counter clockwise should result in cutting out any affect from the VOICEPRINT function. The VP has 99 presets, so you might want to learn about those. Make sure that the VP MUTE button is not engaged, and the volume is up. Test if signal is getting to the HXS by plugging in headphones (start with the HXS Volume knob down so you don't blow your ears out!). Also, and I know this seems obvious, but make sure the cables you're using are good.

We're talking about two different uses of panning, panning for a room/audience experience, and panning to get a specific signal to a specific amp. I assume that you'd be using a different signal chain for an ELECTRIC sound, vs the ACOUSTIC sounding Piezo. So you pan one path to the Boogie side and the other path to the Acoustic amp side. On a preset that combines the two sounds, you MIGHT want to set the panning to center, and use Level settings to even out the combined sounds. Most likely, for combined sounds, you'll need to spend some time experimenting to see what works best.
-
Unless, as OP stated, he's using two different types of amps for two specific types of sounds, and would like to be able to use both at once for SPECIFIC sounds, at which point I assume he'd be using presets designed for that purpose, including his panning. If he's dealing with going to FOH, it's the FOH engineer that's controlling the panning for the room sound, so yes, he should be told what to expect if he's too dumb to ask/figure it out on his own. Unfortunately, there are far too many FOH "engineers" who fit in that category!
-
Don't see why not. You'd probably want to pan the Outputs hard L/R to separate the signals.

Yep, hardware failure. Hope you're under warranty. If not, try support anyway. Sometimes they're very generous about fixing this kind of thing. It's a common failure. BE NICE! :-)
-
Start by upgrading to 3.11. You SAID that's what started the problem, but it's obvious from your picture that you're still on 2.92. After upgrading to 3.11, if you still have the line, re-open the support ticket and tell them about it. It looks to me like you have a hardware failure.

If size is not an issue, why not sell both and get a full fat Helix? Get the functionality you need with the MUCH better sound of the latest greatest? Unless it's about cost, in which case get an LT or go used. I'm saying this because I had an HD500, and there's really no comparison sound wise. And, IIRC, the HD500 didn't do Snapshots at all.
-
You might be able to expand the capabilities of the HXFX by using an external MIDI controller. You'll need to find one that can send multiple commands on a single press. Look into the Morningstar MC6 or MC8, very popular with HXS/HXFX users.

Above, I described how to turn the HF Driver ON/OFF using MIDI. Connect a MIDI cable to the 212, and another from the 212 OUT to the 112. Be sure that MIDI THRU is enabled on the 212. Using a high-gain preset (more obvious than a clean preset), play a chord with a lot of high frequency content, say, E major on the top four strings at the 12th fret. Turn the Volume Knob on the 112 all the way down. Play the chord while switching the HF Driver ON/OFF and listening to the 212. Can you hear a difference? Repeat the process with the Volume OFF on the 212 and ON on the 112. Can you hear a difference? Now that you know what the difference sounds like, you'll be able to tell what's actually going on.

hx efx Being able to latch switch between 2 Snapshots
rd2rk replied to Music4life928's topic in Helix
You'll need two Snapshots. You set the default Snapshot to call a default channel for that preset on Instant Command 1, then use a single Stomp FS to switch between them using Press/Hold. See the attached example preset. RODX21.hlx -
Here's two ways to work around the problem. 1 - Leave the PC212+ on it's preset 000 "Flat Stereo" when you're using FLAT FRFR or USER IR. Rotate the SELECT Knob on the PC one click counter clockwise. You're now on PC Preset 127. In PC Edit, change the VOICING to LF Flat. Rename the Preset to LF FLAT. Don't forget to SAVE! When you're using SPEAKER, LF Flat or LF RAW, just switch to that preset by rotating the SELECT Knob one click counter clockwise. When you're using Helix Cabs (FLAT FRFR) just rotate it one click clockwise to return to preset 000. You're basically turning the HF driver ON/OFF as necessary for the mode you're in. 2 - Connect a MIDI cable. Use an Instant Command to select CC#5 with a Value of 113 (ON, 0db) for FLAT FRFR or USER IR. Use a Value of 0 (OFF) for SPEAKER, LF Flat or LF RAW. Method 1 requires you to manually select the PC Preset. Method 2 turns the HF driver ON/OFF when you load the Helix Preset, but you need to set the Instant Command in each Helix Preset. Yes, it's annoying, but until L6 gets off their butts and fixes the bug, these are the only ways I know of to work around the bug. If you start building your Helix presets from a template, you can bake the settings in and just do it once. Just name your templates something like "Trim ON" and "Trim OFF".

hx efx Being able to latch switch between 2 Snapshots
rd2rk replied to Music4life928's topic in Helix
Yes. AND - if you'll be specific about AT LEAST the MIDI messages required to do so, I can even tell you how. If I knew what amp you're using, I'd look it up in the manual to be sure I'm telling you correctly. -
hx efx Being able to latch switch between 2 Snapshots
rd2rk replied to Music4life928's topic in Helix
No idea what you're talking about. Change channels on what? MIDI channels? Amp channels? What amp? Be specific. -
The Powercabs have 5 operating modes: FLAT includes - FRFR - HF and LF drivers ON, LF driver EQ'd to be FLAT LF Flat - HF driver OFF, LF driver EQ'd to be FLAT LF RAW - HF driver OFF, LF driver with NO EQ applied SPEAKER - HF driver OFF, LF driver EQ'd to sound like various speakers USER IR - same as FRFR, but the PC+ internal IRs are engaged On the PC212+, the HF driver doesn't always disengage in LF Flat, LF RAW and SPEAKER modes. Regardless of the mode chosen on the Helix, the PC+ presets remain engaged. If the PC+ preset uses a mode different than the per preset setting specified on Helix, there's a conflict. TBH, I got tired of trying to figure out what was going on, as it seemed at times to be random. I use LF Stereo Flat when I use the Helix cabs, and a PC+ preset set to LF Flat when I use SPEAKER mode. L6 is aware of the problem, as I am not the only user who has reported it. The other bug has to do with L6 Link control when using two PC212+ cabs. I forget the details off hand, as it doesn't affect use with a single PC212+. If you ordered a PC112+, no worries. AFAIK, these bugs only affect the PC212+.

Well there ya go! Just assign CC#7 to the Helix Exp Pedal, hook up a MIDI cable and you're golden!
