Line 6 has definitely pushed the modeling world in an entirely new direction. http://www.headrushelectronics.com/

Now the link to the video is broken. I guess it was all just a dream...
-
Not in today's world. I like the touch screen and the icons for the pedals. No "cryptic symbols" lol.
-
They don't seem to have a website. The link in the article isn't valid. Not finding any info on Headrush via Google either.

I have a couple of presets with two amp models that I switch between them using snapshots. Yes, DSP hogs they are. I tend to just go with one amp model and one cab/IR any more to leave room for other goodies.
-
When it does happen, use the joystick to go over to the volume block to see what position (%) it is at. If it is at 1%, then you have the "bug". Mine went away after reassigning all of my volume blocks to be controlled by EXP2, which is default.
-
What firmware revision are you running?
-
The volume block randomly goes to 1%. It happened to me on the last two firmware revisions. After updating to 2.11, I changed all of my volume blocks to the default EXP2, and have not had any more issues with the volume block dropping.

Not only can you turn on/off multiple effects with one snapshot, but you can change any parameter in all of the models. I often change the amp gain setting between snapshots because I like the sound of naturally aspirated overdrive. I can also layer boosts in front as well. I'll also layer delays and change the mix/feedback on them as well. So much you can do with snapshots.

There are plenty of clean amps to choose from too. The matchless is one of my favorites.

Yup. I am not a metal guy, but still watch some of the videos. There are some great metal tones out there. There are plenty of non-metal videos out there too, you just need to know what/who to look for.

I was gonna answer a "qoute" in a thread and get this mess why?

Go to the notification where someone responded, click on the link to the thread, copy the URL of that thread, and paste it here. Phil_m can then look to see what the issue was. I doubt there are any conspiracies going on. Or you can try clearing your cookies and temp files and try going to that thread again. -
Helix was twice as impressive as what I thought it would be. Give it some time with the learning curve at first, but it is a very fast learning curve. Helix is my only tone/effects equipment any more. Just a couple of extra expression pedals for it. It fits a large range of needs for lots of different players.

Try the freebie from Redwirez. It is a Marshall 1960 412 IR and the Mesa freebie from OH. I have only bought a few others besides using those two. Some of the built in cabs I prefer over IRs for some tones. I use both IR and built in cabs, just depends on what sounds good to you.
-
Some people (myself included) like to think outside of the box and push the limits/flexibility of the equipment. I may run it this way so I don't have the "cable tone" coloring my signal if I happen to like it better. Others may have some other uses for it.

It is easy if you have some pedal minions that with tweak the knobs on the fly. It's not nice to stomp on you minions though.

Using the online editor makes it really easy to change the order of your presets. I do it every week for church. I also use it to alphebetize the songs saved on the computer, then import the alphabetized presets into setlists back to the Helix. I have setlists populated with presets for each of the songs we do or have ever done. If we have a last minute song change, I just move that new song into one of the 4 slots on top and I have EXACTLY what I used for that song last time we played it. I generally only have 4 snapshots per song, but may start using snapshot/stomp mode so I can toggle on/off various gain/drive pedals for each snapshot. HUGE flexibility.

For everyone looking into buying a wireless system and are greatly concerned about the micro usb power input, just spend the extra $20 and get the G30 and don't worry about it. If you already have one still under warranty, keep getting replacements under that warranty. If it is out of warranty date, sell it to someone who is willing to fix it, and buy yourself something else. Myself, I am not worried about the micro usb, so I went with the G10. If you have one that is broken and you may want to sell it, let me know and I may buy it for the right price.

Very nice! Another connection option.
-
I haven't done that, but you could throw the looper in at the front of you signal chain, then it would play that loop through the rest of the signal path allowing you to tweak.
-
I use both IRs and built in cabs. I have found some IRs that I like much better compared to the built in, and some built in cabs that I like better that the equivalent IR. Try the free Redwirez (Marshall 1960 412) and Ownhammer (Mesa 412) IRs before you decide on spending money on any. It's all a matter of personal taste. Also, the IRs save me time because they can sound great just throwing it in a preset. The built in cabs can require quite a bit of tweaking before you like it.

I am not a pro musician, but a church worship band guy. I use the Helix in a way you mention. I have a preset for each song. I currently have the top 4 switches configured for presets, and the bottom 4 for snapshots within the currently loaded preset. the left two are bank up/down. I will be transitioning to having all 8 switches "snapshots" within the currently loaded preset, and the left two are preset up/down. Then I will just load the songs in order the navigate through them sequentially with the left two switches. Preset locations are supper easy to change from the Helix. I believe this is the functionality you are referring to.

The first preset I did was the Plexi amp/cab model with no adjustments and a room reverb, no adjustments. Sounded fantastic. Just start adding stuff from there. I have found that keeping things fairly simple in terms of effects keeps things sounding good. It is easy to add too much crap to your sound and really muck things up.

Thanks for the follow up.
