  1. I have the Helix floor model. I only use a single external expression pedal assigned to EXP3. I use the on board pedal for EXP 1 and 2. Since I have changed all of my volume blocks to EXP2, I have not had the volume drop issue. I use a volume block on the front of the signal chain in all of my presets, and no drops. EXP2 is the default (for whatever reason). Try that and see if it goes away.
  2. If you are running CFL bulbs or LED lighting in the area, turn off the lights to see if your noise goes away. Cheap non-incandescent lighting can be pretty noisy in some audio related equipment.
  3. Do you have the volume block assigned to EXP1 or EXP2?
  4. Or if you are a skateboarder, you could start doing some tricks with it. Like an ollie while changing to a different snapshot. You may have to go with a wireless rig though.
  5. Output is already going to 1/4" and XLR outputs. If you are not already using all of those, just route one through your tuner and it will be active all the time.
  6. I guess I'll have to scroll down a little further in the amp models now and then.
  7. That's great news, and gets you back in the game again.
  8. G10 and Helix make a fantastic pair. I found that I can get out to about 50 feet before I get latency. I got out to about 150 feet before any drop out (line of sight), but latency was about 200-300ms (guestimate). I use the pairing at home all the time, and church twice a week.
  9. Yeah, like the new Helix with Bluetooth and on board 9 volt power supply output (just joking...don't get your undies in a twist).
  10. Does the AxFx have a ground lift switch? Helix does. Not sure if that would open up a ground loop.
  11. It takes a while to go from verifying/documenting a bug, to implementing a fix for it. I'd imagine that it will be on the next one if it is high enough priority.
  12. I'd start a ticket with Line 6 and get their recommendation. Your unit may still be under warranty as well.
  13. When he is not looking, just take the XLR off the mic and plug it into the Helix and leave a "dummy" cable plugged into the mic. Leave a pile of cables in the area so he can not see that it's re-routed. He'll never know the difference.
  14. I never use high gain, but really like the free OH Mesa 412 IR with the MKiV Rythm channel 2 for my "single coily" sound. It "feels" much better to me as well in terms of articulation. I really like the Redwirez 1960 412 freebie with the JTM45 and Plexi models. I don't think it is a high gain thing, just a personal taste thing. You should give it a try considering they are free.
  15. So if you only have one device plugged in to either the XLR or 1/4", there is no noise? Below is from the G10 FAQ guide, so it should be fine. MusicLaw may be on to something. I have come circuits in my house that have CFL lighting and some compact LED lighting on them. I can't use any of my audio gear on those circuits because of the noise that is produced from those stupid cheap lighting driver circuits. "Q: Can I use both the 1/4" output and the XLR output at the same time? A: Yes, they can both be used simultaneously."
  16. There is not one listed, just firmware.
  17. Expression pedals 1 and 2 are the on board expression pedal. There is a toe switch that can switch between the two. If you have your volume block assigned to expression pedal 1, then it may be the cause of the issue of the volume randomly going to 1%. Expression pedal 2 is the default for whatever reason.
  18. If you got it from Sweetwater, you can deal directly with them.
  19. You may want to reach out to Line 6 on that one. Sounds like a hardware issue. (Edit...) Does it do it with your guitar unplugged? Is there a cell phone near the unit or your guitar when it happens? Is the clicking sound constant now, and you are not getting an input from your guitar?

    Song mode

And you can keep your shoes on since you won't need your toes any more.
  22. Yeah, the carpet allows the whole unit to rock. Doesn't do it on a hard surface.

    Volume drops out

I wasn't sure if the EXP2 thing was just a coincidence. I'd like to see if more people experiencing this issue have theirs set to EXP1. I have my minimums set to 0% and still haven't had the issue.
  24. I only use the compressors for the "squish" on the front end of the modeled amps. Definitely not necessary in terms of tone. I also get "grit" from the amp models in a normally aspirated fashion, just cranking the gain on the model via snapshots. OD on the front end is not necessary to get the "feel". Again, ODs not necessary, but still useful depending on the sound you are trying to achieve. You may want to play a Helix first before making your decision. Since you are already familiar with Line 6 stuff, you will find it very easy to navigate. Coming from an M13, I found the interface to be very familiar and intuitive.
