Not at the current time...

Well an IR is more than just an EQ curve. I guess if you wanted to think of it as an EQ curve, you'd have to say it's lke an EQ curve being applied dynamically over time. But the actual mathematical function being applied with an IR is actually much more complex than an EQ curve. It takes into account things phase shift, resonance, and other things that have an effect on the way sound is produced from the source cabinet or instrument.

No, I can't imagine it has anything to do with D/A conversion. Are you sure you're not clipping your amp's input? What level do you have the second loop set to?
-
Well, I guess just try setting the loop the OD is in to instrument. There's nothing wrong with doing that, really.

If you're talking about something like ADSR or LFO controllers, no there's not. You can assign parameters to controllers other than the expression pedals, though. You can assign them to footswitches, snapshot controllers, or MIDI CCs from an external source.

What blocks do you have after the FX loop block on the Helix? It's possible you're clipping those depending on what they are. I doubt that the pedal is clipping the return.
-
Yes, you could get an external MIDI controller to do certain things - controlling the looper and changing snapshots are the two most obvious things. I suppose you could actaully set up external footswitches as controllers for parameters if you wanted to. One thing you can't necessarily do right now is turn individual effect blocks on and off. You can indirectly do that by controlling the footswitch they're assigned to.

I'm not a Line 6 employee, and these aren't support/customer service forums. I'm just one of the expert users/moderators here. I have no say on Line 6's return/replacement/repair policies. The support ticket link or calling the service number (818-575-3600) are the best ways (really, only ways) to get in contact with them.

Open up a support ticket... It's still under warranty regardless of the fact that you're out of the seller's return window. http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html

With snapshots, you can essentially have multiple switches control multiple parameters (by changing snapshots)... There are really quite a few different ways to skin this particular cat. One thing you can do without programming anything is simply go into the tuner. As long as you have it set to mute, that functionally acts as a kill switch. The only downside is that it's not instantaneous - you have to hold the tuner footswitch down for two seconds. I guess I'm also wondering why simply putting the expression pedal in the heel down position wouldn't work for you - unless, I guess, you want the minimum pedal position to be something other than zero.

Possible Bug - Channel Switching amp with Snapshots
phil_m replied to welshboyohelix's topic in Helix
One thing that comes to mind is that I think that if you have the EXT AMP triggers set up as instant commands, those only get shot out during snapshot changes if you have a different setting saved in the snapshot you're going to versus the one you're currently in. So I don't think it's really looking at what the current state is. I think it's looking at what's saved in the snapshot you're in. -
I think the Helix delays are lovely as they stand. I have the Strymon TimeLine, and have to confess I've barely used it since getting the Helix. I'm not sure in what way anyone could call the HX delays lacking. I'm sure there are some specific bobbles and whistles that other manufactures have, but the core sound of the Helix delays is awesome. The tape model alone is a thing of beauty. It might be my favorite tape model right now.

I imagine that they decided to scale back on the total number of amps they modeled for a few different reasons. It seemed like with the HD and DT integration, they wanted to categorize the amp models into different families that had similar power tube topologies, so they probably thought there was some redundancy with what was in the X3 model list. So that carried over in the Helix design as well. I also think that maybe they think that they might be better off modeling some newer amps in the future rather than focusing on those ones that they did for the Vetta/XT/POD Farm.

Well, you do this by setting a footswitch as a controller for the level parameter of the output block. Or you could actually use the volume block and have a snapshot set up where the volume parameter goes to zero upon a snapshot to change. In order for this to work, though, you'd have to have the EXP Pedal Position parameter in the Global Settings Menu set to "per snapshot".

I can't find the thread where it's mentioned, but I'm nearly certain that they're 1Mohm.

Yes, you can easily control external pedals with MIDI. I'm not sure what Chase Bliss pedal(s) you're talking about, but it looks like they allow pretty extensive MIDI control. You can assign MIDI messages to a footswitch on the Helix or you can assign instant commands that will be sent out with preset and/or snapshot changes. I suggest you take a look at the "Command Center" and "Snapshots" section of the Helix manual. As far as the rack/floor thing, I guess I can't really help that much there. It really depends on what you like. Personally, I use the floor unit, and I've never been a rack guy, so it was an easy choice for me. For others, that rack is a no-brainer. The one thing I will say is that if you go the rack route, you really do need to plan on getting the Helix Control board to go with it.

I was a beta tester, so even in trying to mess Helix up, I've never had it so the presets were wiped on their own. I think the likelihood of that happening is near zero. It is, however, a good idea to back up your presets just in case. To me, the larger risk is that something becomes corrupted and you are forced to do a reset, and because of that your presets are lost. I've never had this happen either. It does seem like nearly all of these situations arise because of issues with updates - people not following instructions, a corrupt install, or whatever. Overall, still pretty rare.

Tracks in music library won't play through amplifier
phil_m replied to Jesse-Gale's topic in AMPLIFi TT/FX100
The app can only play songs that you have actually downloaded onto your phone or tablet. It can't play ones that are just in your library through iTunes Match but not downloaded. -
The HD500x should behave the same way. You just have to turn knob 2 while in tuner mode until you see "Mute" on the screen.
-
I don't have the editor in front of me at the moment, but you basically do it the same way you assign a parameter to any controller with the editor. Click on the Controllers tab, select the parameter you want to control, select the controller you want to assign it to from the pulldown menu, and set the min and max values.

You can already do number 1 on this list.
-
You just need to install the latest firmware.
-
Well, yes, Bluetooth only allows one pairing at a time. Beyond that, I believe that you have to put the Firehawk into pairing mode by hitting the little button on the amp for it to pair with a device it's never paired with before.

Are you actually on firmware 2.0 or do you have the latest, 2.01?
