  1. The "Tap Tempo Pitch" setting under Global Settings > Preferences will change this behavior. If you set it to "Transparent" instead of "Accurate", you won't get the artifacts.
  2. No, it's not possible. EDIT: See response here: http://line6.com/support/topic/22593-g-10-and-xd-v-75/?p=172043
  3. Huh? With the app, you can access an unlimited number of presets...
  4. You can already do this with Workbench HD. Just create a custom model where the mix is 100% magnetic. The one thing to be aware of is that the pickup selector is a hardwired switch for the pickups, so its position will always determine which magnetic pickups are active. This an actual electrical connection, so that's not going to be able to be changed via firmware update. So if you have the pickup selector in the bridge position, there is no way that you'll be able to select the magnetic new pickup via the Helix without actually moving the pickup selector. That's just one of the compromises that had to be made to actually make the Variax have working magnetic pickups.
  5. Which issue are you referring to exactly? There are a few different things being discussed in this thread.
  6. Yes, the noise gate remains active if you're using DSP bypass mode. Also, the noise gate isn't truly global. Its on/off state and other settings are saved on a scene per scene basis (same thing with the True or DSP bypass setting).
  7. Using a Pedaltrain Pro for mine as well. Got a Mono M80 bag for it, and it's working well.
  8. It's a good review, although, even though Line 6 is owned by Yamaha, it's not really correct to call the Helix a Yamaha/Line 6 collaboration. The modeling, sound design, etc. is all Line 6. From what I understand the only part the Yamaha played was that Line 6 was able to "borrow" of their engineers at one point for help with some of the GUI stuff.
  9. If you can get a copy of the original purchase receipt (the receipt from when he bought it) from the seller, the warranty actually does transfer. If you don't have that, then, no, it doesn't.
  10. Well that really becomes a send control more than a mix at that point. I still don't understand why you can't get what you want just by not the having the minimum mix level for the expression pedal set at something other than 0.
  11. The face of the Helix is made from extruded aluminum, so no, a magnetic label wouldn't work... But why would you need labels, anyway? It has scribble strips, which are a million times better than labels.
  12. I understand what's happening now... With CC messages you can change the value of any CC messages per snapshot. So, if you have CC #39 with a value of 0 for snapshot one in the instant command 1 slot, you can change that to a value of 99, or whatever, in snapshot 2. You can't select a different CC# for each snapshot. What you can do, however, is assign a different CC# to another instant command slot. So if you need to send out a value from a different CC for that snapshot, just use the instant command 2 slot. You can leave the one the first slot alone. As long as the value doesn't change between snapshot, it won't send out a message.
  13. You know, we all hear you loud and clear... :D You don't like the fuzzes... But my comment wasn't even talking about them. I was talking about the overdrives and distortions, and my point was that I like them better than previous Line 6 offerings... (I actually like the new fuzzes better as well). I'm not sure how you're taking that anything to do with the fuzzes. As I said earlier, I have no problem with Line 6 making new ones. I hope they do. I do think that if they decide to model specific ones, it would be hard to narrow it down because there are so many out there. Personally, I would like to see the Black Art Toneworks Pharaoh, as it's a pretty versatile fuzz and can give a whole range of tones. I like the fact that you can choose between or blend the silicon and germanium clipping modes.
  14. I'm trying to understand what you're asking for here, or, perhaps more importantly, what it is you're trying to do. The mix parameter by definition is control the comparative level of the wet and dry signals. So if you turn down the mix knob towards zero, the level of the repeats is by definition going to decrease. It sounds like perhaps you just need to set the minimum value for the expression pedal at a different level.
  15. Don't know why they didn't model the clean channel other than the fact that the Shiva is known more a high gain amp rather than for its clean channel. I realize its clean channel generally gets good reviews as well. It could be something they could add, but I guess my question would be how different is the clean channel on that amp compared to the other clean options available right now? I guess it's always a matter of priorities. There's a ton of great amps out there to model.
  16. The two biggest fixes with 2.01 imo were the input Z fix and the thing with the delay time changes with snapshot changes. If those don't effect you, I guess it's your prerogative to not install the update.
  17. Sure, but you can do the mixed snapshot and stomp view in Preset Mode right now. What is your setup like? What are you controlling in Stomp Mode that you couldn't do with Snapshots?
  18. The best place to adjust the level for the preset is using the level parameter in the output block(s).
  19. Actually, with snapshots, you can have up to six MIDI commands assigned to a footswitch. It's just that, technically, they're assigned to a snapshot change and not necessarily a footswitch, but in reality, there may not be much difference. I guess it depends on what you're wanting to do. I'm not understanding your comment about "not offering any functions you find on a good MIDI controller". Like what, exactly?
  20. If you download and install the latest Helix editor application (just called "Helix") from here, it will give you everything you need to install the update. It should install the Helix drivers, the Line 6 Updater app, and the Helix editor app. If you don't have any of your own presets you want to back up, you can just go ahead and run Line 6 Updater, and it will guide you through the update process.
  21. I personally think the overdrives and distortions in the Helix are significantly better than earlier offerings. Just much more responsive, in general. I also think it's nice to have a couple transparent options, like the Klon and Timmy. The really nice thing is that they act just like the real thing in front real amps.
  22. I hadn't really ever given much though to using the Preset Up/Down switches before, but I was messing around with this last night, and it actually works quite well, especially if you're like me and only use a handful of presets and a lot of snapshots. It makes changing presets much more seamless. It's kind of like having a bunch of snapshots available all the time and just navigating through different pages to get to them. I think I might keep it this way.

Yes, it works with iOS 9.
