+1 to BillBee, But try it with a USB cable instead of a USB to MIDI. -

Con you confirm on the PODxt (not connected to pc) the firmware version? -
It may be receiving MIDI messages from somewhere or you could have dirty pots. Try gently rotating the physical knobs from min to max several times, then park them at zero .

Vocal Filters for POD Farm?
Triryche replied to thickage's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
You could search for plug-ins for vocal effects. I do not use any so I have no specific recommendations. Are you using a Line6 interface to record or you just have the POD Farm software? There are some examples for the different model packs here. http://line6.com/modelPacks/index.html -

In Monkey you need to update USB firmware and Flash Mem. Try different USB cables and port if you are having issues. Also, without the PODxt connected, see which firmware it has. If it is 1.x, you will first need to flash with the PODxt's MIDI port to add USB utilities. -

Does Monkey have green tick for everything? Where exactly are you seeing the message access denied? -
Yes, that is correct. But how do you model different peoples' ears? Not to get too scientific, but sound does not exist until it is perceived by a being. Of course there are physical attributes to be measured, wavelengths, propagation thru the air, amplitude of the wavelengths... But until the air pressures hit your eardrum and it is converted to electrical impulses and your brain forms a perception of sound, there is none. So when modeling cabs, there needs to be some way to capture the simulation of these impulses in the air, which is a mic. All that being said, best to just try them out and use what sounds best to you!! :)

phil, I thought I tested this and it seemed a local copy resides on the iOS device. The app complains it can not access your account, but then all seemed fine. I will test this again tonite. But yeah, saving your presets to the hardware eliminates the need for an iOS altogether.

Don't flash the unit!! If you are still in contact with the seller have him gift them to your account. If not you can give Line6 a call, maybe they will work something out on their end for you. No guarantees, but worth asking.

Assuming you have the newest version of Monkey installed, run it to make sure the drivers and firmware are current. ***WARNING*** If you purchased this with extra model packs installed, flashing the xt may wipe them out if the seller did not "gift" them to you. (PODxt Live should come with FX-Junkie by default). Download and install Gearbox, this may be done with or without Monkey. Gearbox replaces Edit.

Combining 2 effects into 1

+1 to BillBee What device do you have? -
I know you can select to have no amp and cab, but nut sure if you can do no cab while having an app, I can check later tonite. But if you have a cab it would imply there is a mic to capture the sound, so in theory you can not model a cab without a mic.

You may not have been using the ASIO drivers, in which case you may be able to choose the UX as an input (with no ASIO) and your internal soundcard as the output). Or you may have run the analog outs or headphone outs of the UX to your computers line-in (to the internal soundcard). This can cause problems. When using the UX, it becomes your soundcard, which is why you need to connect headphones or speakers directly to it and chose Line6 ASIO as your device. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_Stream_Input/Output

Do you have 2 Line-Ins on the back? If so you could use those.

Well it depends on your specific soundcard. Monitoring meaning speakers/headphones or amp.

You use just one cable with L(mono) for mono and 2 cables, L & R to preserve the stereo signal from your xt. Of course depending on you models/effects you're using in the xt and what you are monitoring with will determine it is worth it. What are you monitoring with?
