    Do you have a PC you can try it on? If so, download newest Monkey and give it a go, if it works at least you know it is not the PODxt.

    Make sure you have Instrument selected in POD Farm.

    The updates are not cumulative, so choose the most recent update. It should not take 4hrs, typically 30 to 45 minutes. It is preferred to use a WiFi connection, not the cellular.

    Go to the tuner and scroll to the last page for the firmware version.

    If you already have POD Farm 2.5x with your GX, you would just open them in POD Farm like you have been doing. If you only have POD Farm 1.12, then you will get POD Farm 2.5x with a new UX2 and new folders when you install POD Farm 2.5. My guess is you already have POD Farm 2.5? Either way the tone files reside on your computer, so you can copy paste them anywhere you want, and/or navigate to any folder within POD Farm.

    Do you know what firmware version you have? If it is 1.x it will need to be flashed via MIDI to enable the USB functionality.

    I use Reaper also, good bang for your buck. One of the pros, IMHO, it is very a powerful DAW for the money. One possible con, it is a very powerful DAW for the money, so for some there may be a bit of a learning curve. But the guys at Cockos have great documentation and there is a an active forum. For Line6 devices, the POD Studio UX2 works great with Reaper. For me a work flow is you can capture both wet and dry signals in Reaper, then add the POD Farm plug-in post recording to the dry tracks. So you can dial in your tone and record without worry if all your tone setting are perfect, and then tweak to your hearts content after the fact.

    Try going into Windows setting and disabling your internal soundcard and make the UX your default. If this happens every time you exit Cubase, I would check for a Cubase update as well.

    Upgrading should be quite simple. All you tines will lod on the UX2. If it is a new POD Studio UX2 you will gewt POD Farm 2.5x (Stand Alone and Plug-In) and FX Junkie Model Pack (tied to the UX2). You can authorize you Metal Pack on up to 4 devices simultaneously, so no issues there. You do not have to de-authorize the GX, but you should if you plan on selling it. I have never used the UX2 live (I currently do not gig).

    Try your guitar on another amp, sounds like you might have some intermittent wiring problems/bad pots on your guitar, or a whole lot of bad guitar cables!!

    ESN unknown is a problem, it is the electronic serial number. I would try to install on another computer, if it instals then at least you know it's not the GP or X3.

    You shouldn't even need the MIDI cable, just use USB. The PODxt should show up in logic as a MIDI device and a sound device. I don't use Logic, so I can not help with the details from the logic side.

    Sounds like iOS device is not communicating. Try forgetting the BT connection and reconnect.

    In the mixer view make sure the inputs are not muted. Do the level indicators for input show any signal?

    I'm not a Mac guy, but it sounds like it could be a permissions issue. When you say Gearbox installed, you will still need drivers for Gearbox to see it. Don't worry about POD Farm 2, unless you paid for the upgrade. Can the newest version of Monkey see it?
