  1. Yay! Thank you very much for your insight and dedication to the Helix.
  2. Hi, Simple answer - no! Firmware 3.50 contains all the updated cabinets that did not exist in earlier versions. From the release notes for 3.50. OPTIONAL: Performing a factory reset loads the new 3.50 Factory Presets, but restoring from your backup will overwrite these. Spend some time exploring these and export the factory presets you want to keep (or drag them to your desktop). If you have unused setlists in Helix Floor/Rack/LT, you can also export the entire FACTORY 1 bundle for loading into an unused setlist later. Following the update, if you reloaded your backup then you would have the same factory presets that were included with v3.11 then all the amp & cab settings will be the “older” versions. Question: Why would you want the legacy presets - most users spent years complaining about how bad the factory presets were. That’s why Line 6 invested so much time building up this new library of cabinets. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  3. Yep, damn right. Plus you threw out an @craiganderton tag in an earlier post - if you had purchased his ebook on Helix (HINT!), you might have taken into consideration the fact you are actually running 4CM into a mono amp. Craig points out that all these Rotary FX are stereo. This was also mentioned in the post from @waymda, in an earlier post, stating that collapsing this down to mono is possibly contributing to the pseudo chorus effect. Ultimately, the general consensus of comments I have ever seen about the Helix Rotary FX, is it’s a speaker emulation, don’t run it into another speaker. Helix is a whole lot of stuff, but not absolute Nirvana. You’ve got the toys - stick ‘em in the FX loop - result eternal happiness.
  4. As you know the Strymon Lex was designed to produce that one specific effect, and it even has a cab filter for when it is not being run into a guitar amp and cab. Big clue - it’s tuned to that particular system. Your Helix does lots and lots of other stuff, but it is noted that if you want a Leslie Rotary speaker effect, you should not have it running into another cabinet. If you do it will sound more like a chorus pedal warbling - oh, guess what, that’s exactly what you have. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  5. Hi, We seem to have a cross post glitch. This guy had posted the same issue in the main forum, where I mentioned you had asked for an example preset. Guess it’s not a bug until it’s been checked out. He has uploaded the HXFX preset to this thread: Hope you can help him out, as I don’t have access to switchable external amps. (Studio Rat!) ;-)
  6. You should check out this discussion as to why it is more popular to say “B flat” instead of “A sharp”. It’s a bundle of fun. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  7. Hi, Glad to know you got this sorted out. It may be helpful to others if you could go back into the thread title and add (SOLVED) to the end of the text! Have fun.
  8. Hi, As in the reply from @rd2rk to the same thing which you posted in the “Bug Reports” thread - upload a preset, and then other users can troubleshoot the issue. Cross posting the same problem can become very confusing. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  9. Hi, What you have encountered is an over zealous “Gatekeeper” that is inbuilt to the Mac OS. Read this, which will save me having to type out the same old thing one more time. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202491 You don't really need to use the Line 6 Utility unless you have a failed update. FYI: - You will find it very useful to download and refer to this as you learn about your Helix. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f041b611d61cac763b/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev F - English .pdf Plus check UChoob for videos to learn the basic operations of your new toy. plus: Hope this helps/makes sense.
  10. Hi, again, You are misunderstanding about the Bluetooth connection in general - it’s just not up to the job, (if it was, people would be doing it), and it has been discussed at length in these threads over quite some time. One word - Latency! Here’s one: https://line6.com/support/topic/34109-helix-to-run-bluetooth-headphones/ plus: More: Hope this helps/makes sense.
  11. Hi, If you want to have your iPhone/iPad communicate via USB for playing backing tracks etc., you need the Apple Camera Connection Kit. https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/product/MK0W2ZM/A/lightning-to-usb-3-camera-adapter I have used the ACCK for a long time to hook up to my iPad, I also have an IK Multimedia iRig2 and iRig Acoustic Stage to allow me to use GarageBand on the iPad to quickly grab ideas when not in the studio - but that is for sending audio in to the iPad. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irig2/ https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irigacousticstage/ Hope this helps/makes sense.
  12. Hi, There are hundreds of recommendations within this forum alone. This one is possibly your cheapest option, lots of folk using these - https://m-audio.com/products/view/ex-p I have 3 of them in almost constant use, 2 connected to my Helix Floor and another hooked up to my Arturia KeyLab 61 MIDI Controller keyboard. Also lots of people using these - If you have sacks full of money, and want to buy a variable resistor in a metal box, then the solution is a Mission pedal. https://missionengineering.com/shop/ep1-l6-line-6/ Hope this helps/makes sense. NOTE: You could buy 10 M-Audio pedals for the price of a single Mission - your choice.
  13. Hi, Playback from your computer on USB 1/2 should not be processed by any effects in the patch. Check the setting on your PC. From the Helix LT 3.0 Owners Manual - Global Settings > Ins/Outs - page 65 USB In 1/2 Destination “If you like to jam along with iTunes, YouTubeTM, or your DAW, this setting determines from which of the Helix outputs your computer or iPad or iPhone mobile device’s primary stereo audio stream will be heard. USB In 1/2 bypasses all Helix processing; USB 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 can be selected as input blocks for processing DAW tracks or re-amping. Normally, you should choose “Multi,” which sends USB In 1/2 directly to the 1/4", XLR, and Digital outputs.” https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f18374611d5dffd3a45/application/pdf/Helix LT 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev D - English .pdf Hope this helps/ makes sense.
  14. Sadly, there are no Line staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - (See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums”). It might be wise to raise a ticket with Customer Support and then at least they will be aware of the issue. Hope this helps makes sense.
  15. Hi, Sad to hear it crapped out, but on the upside it is under warranty and it will be replaced. It’s rare, but stuff does fail, that’s the nature of technology.
  16. Hi, Sorry, incorrect. Nope - saving of loops has never been a function available on Helix devices. As mentioned in the video that you linked, it’s possible to play a phrase, riff etc., into a looper block, then switch to another preset and the loop would continue to play. The caveat to this being that when switching from one preset to the next, the looper block must be exactly the same type, and in exactly the same position in the signal path. Correct - On powering down the unit the loop is deleted - it is not retained in memory. Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: In case you hadn’t noticed, the OP (JimiRox) was posted way back in 2016, also @rd2rk went to great lengths and pointed out your misunderstanding about the looper in the linked thread you started back in 2019 - nothing changed, it still stands.
  17. So basically, I’m not sure how much more clear it can be. Once again - It works when plugged between guitar and the main input of the Helix (guitar -> wha out / wha in -> helix). Must be a Wha with vintage analogue circuitry. See video posted above from @theElevators No other option was mentioned! Hope this helps/makes sense.
  18. Hi, Check out Farnell - This is available - according to the website they have 181 in stock. https://uk.farnell.com/xp-power/ecs65us12/power-supply-ac-dc-medical-12v/dp/1821421?pf_custSiteRedirect=true Hope this helps/makes sense. Note: Your link to Radio Spares states they have 13 in stock for next day delivery.
  19. Hi, You are obviously not a fan of Windoze, and I'm a happy Mac Pilot, so I don't know quite what else to suggest. Needless to say, there are lots of people running Helix Native on the Windows platform and equally the same with Apple with no issues whatsoever. I have a Helix floor that I bought way back in 2015, along with Helix Native in Logic Pro since August 2017. This stuff is used almost daily and just works. If you trawl through the posts in here and the main Helix forum you will find lots of people who are very happy with this stuff. Also there are folk who complain, but it's surprising how much of their moaning and groaning is brough about by self inflicted screw ups and a total inability to cope with simple instructions. For instance, just today a guy in the main forum was complaining that connecting his Helix to his PC via USB is far to complicated - yeah, right! Sorry, Maybe you need a Windoze mechanic to figure out the cause of the constant crash situation. Note: You didn't mention which version of Windows you are using, but there have been situations reported previously of problems caused by certain drivers. Also, a while back there was mention of spurious crashes being caused by having an SD Memory Card inserted in the PC while booting up - that one was fun! Something to do with disk numbering IIRC. Look it up. Here ya go - see the post from Camelot_One which starts with YL;DR:
  20. Hi, The first thing I notice is - you state the preset you’re trying to import “is clearly marked as an HX Stomp preset.” - maybe not! The one highlighted for import is named - Strab Match 3 FX.hlx - which according to the video on the website (https://alexstrabala.com/hx-stomp-presets/hx-stomp-matchless-stereo-amps) is the preset designed with many more effects for users of full Helix units to add extras. The other 2 .hlx files should be useable on your HX Stomp. Furthermore, those .wav files are the 6 custom IRs for the presets. I don’t know if those need to be placed into specific IR slots in HX Edit before importing the preset. I know this might seem obvious, but I notice there is a README.pdf in the folder with the presets, - did you read it? I would advise that you follow the suggestion from @DunedinDragon in the post above, and contact Alex Strabala. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  21. Hi, This happened to me way back in 2017 shortly after it was first released, and I posted in here for help - see the resolution. Hope this helps/makes sense. Note: It has worked perfectly ever since.
  22. Hi, If you require a looper for storing loops you should buy a dedicated looper designed for that task and patch it into your HX unit on the Send/Return/FX Loop. The idea of the built in looper on HX products is more about grabbing a sample of dry guitar to playback while building tones. It is not really designed as a live performance looper even though it has some interesting features - reverse, half speed etc. Therefore, the HX looper won’t turn you into Ed Sheehan (who he?), but it will let you build and refine presets, plus do a little bit of phrase training et al. My approach to the looping things is - tools for the job. For example I own a Boss RC-30 which can load backing tracks, a Ditto x4, a cheapo Ammoon Stereo Looper (with 10 independent loops of 10 minutes each), and Mooer DTP Ocean Machine with 32MB of looper memory. The Ocean Machine is more useful to me for all the delay and reverb FX that Helix still doesn’t do - shimmer on all reverbs, and reverse reverb to name a couple of things. You see, Helix does lots of stuff, but sometimes you need to add the bits that are missing. Do yourself a favour, if you want to save loops, load backing tracks etc., buy a dedicated device and patch it in. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  23. Hi, Lot’s of people use this. https://gigperformer.com Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: Re: Cubase - check this
  24. Hi, From the manual - MIX “Blends the effected “wet” signal vs. the “dry” signal passed through the block. When set to 0%, the path bypasses the effect completely. When set to 100%, the entire path is fed through the effect, and no dry thru signal is heard”. If this is not happening then something in your set up is not right, but we cannot hope to troubleshoot this without a copy of the offending preset. Upload the file and it can be assessed. Hope this helps/makes sense.
