  1. Hi, A little search would have revealed this:- Hope this helps/makes sense.
  2. Hi, You have around here long enough to realise that when weird stuff starts to happen, the general response is to perform a factory reset, and if that doesn’t fix the issue, re-install the latest firmware. Your HX Effects is essentially a computer and the firmware is required to make it run correctly. If there is a glitch - reset and reload. If it should continue have problems after that, then you really need a Line 6 technician to help fix it. Hope this helps/makes sense. Check this thread:
  3. Yes. Quick and dirty answer - they are probably more specific to how speaker cabinets function. Low cut gives you a sound that is similar to the effect of having an open backed cab simply by rolling off the low end. High cut is obvious as it cuts the highs in a similar fashion to a real world speaker, where there nothing really happening in the range above 7 - 8k and sometimes much lower. They just allow you to tune the response of the cab a little bit more if you wish. Oh, yeah, the high and low cut options are not just in the cabinet blocks. Check your delay, reverb and even some distortion options. If you’re seeking the path of enlightenment as to the way of the Helix, you should invest in a copy of the book written by sometime forum contributor @craiganderton and available from Sweetwater as a digital download. 4. Hi, As mentioned by @rd2rk in his post above, you are running a computer with Windows 7 which is very old. Even Microsoft stopped doing security updates for it back in January 2020. Anyhow, you stated that the driver which you have installed is 1.97.0.2. My guess is, that version is incompatible with your OS. If you go to the download page and select Helix LT under hardware, then driver from the Software drop down menu, then specifically Windows 7 from the OS option, the last version that is listed as being compatible with Windows 7 is Line 6 Helix Driver2 version 1.96 released in March 2021. Maybe time for you to upgrade your equipment if you are wanting to record digital audio. Alternatively, buy an inexpensive audio interface, such as, for example: M-Audio M-Track Solo, or the Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD, which has a specific 32 bit driver for Windows 7. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  5. Hi, This may sound obvious, but both you and the OP didn’t mention if you had done a backup, factory reset and restore the backup of your unit, as advised in the Release Notes to the firmware update. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  6. Hi, This crops up in here quite a bit - here’s one set of options. Hope this helps/makes sense.

  8. Hi, Maybe you should read this:- Hope this helps/makes sense.
  9. Hi, Sadly, there are no Line staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - (See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums”). The best suggestion is to keep reporting these incidents to Customer Support - the squeaky wheel gets the oil - as they say! Hope this helps/makes sense.
  10. No, not a block - see Page 17 of your HX Effects 3.0 Owners Manual: You have 3 types of Tuner available - Fine, Coarse and Strobe. Select which type you want to use. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  11. Hi, Maybe you should investigate using Command Centre in your HXFX. This will allow you to assign anything to anything. This means you can change the UP/DOWN buttons to something else. Here’s a video. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  12. You can do this. Check page 31, Using Snapshots - HX Effects Owner’s Manual - Rev C - English (also page 47, Global Settings > Switches) https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a411710a6112a67116f0b/application/pdf/HX Effects 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev C - English .pdf also available in French, German and Japanese - here! https://line6.com/support/manuals/hxeffects Hope this helps/makes sense.
  13. Hi, The best place to ask about what type of switch and socket you require is Mission - they make 'em. Although, looking at the User Guide it doesn't seem too complicated:- "Connections The EP-1 and SP-1 use one or two 1⁄4” outputs marked OUT1 and OUT2. OUT1 is the expression pedal and OUT2 is the footswitch. The footswitch is not installed on EP versions. Connect OUT1 and OUT2 to your device using 1⁄4” TRS-TRS cables. Connecting OUT2 is optional and maybe omitted if the footswitch will not be used. Note: OUT1 and OUT 2 require the use of cables with a single TRS connector at both ends. A mono TS cable or insert cable that has both TS and TRS plugs will not work." Hope this helps/makes sense
  14. Hi, Well, I just typed "Impulse Response (IR) for electro classical guitar" (same as your title) into Google and got this. https://www.3sigmaaudio.com/items/category/classical-guitars/ Easy and painless. Hope this helps/makes sense
  15. Hi, Interesting first post. As if they are going to let just anyone, software engineer or not, go poking, and prodding around in the Helix Core. Yeah, right! The only people developing software for any of the Helix products are Line 6. Guess you could try asking for a job. Contact Eric (Digital Igloo) Klein - Chief Product Design Architect at Yamaha Guitar Group, Inc. / Line 6 / Ampeg Until then keep on twiddling the encoders on the HXFX. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  16. Hi, As noted by “silverhead” in the post above, the onboard looper is not really up to the job of what you are wanting to achieve. I have a four different model of loop modules, each suited to various tasks. The little red headed rascal uses that rather complex “Chewie Monsta” system now, essentially a MIDI controller running a VST looper (Mobius) inside Ableton Live. Although, in the early days he had a BOSS RC-30, with 2 separate stereo loops, Mic input and lots of memory space to store your presets. It can record up to 3 hours of stereo audio. That model has been superseded now, but they can still be found on FleaBay. The Helix LT has the built in FX Loops for the option of adding your own specialist outboard effect units or looper. Simple enough to patch an external looper. Hope this helps/makes sense. Personally - I can't stand the kid, but each to their own. Oh, and this is how he does it! 17. Hi, There was major change to the Helix Core engine at Firmware v2.80. This can look as if the update has failed around halfway way through, but follow the notes and you should be fine. I would suggest that you read the Release notes for version 2.80 and follow the updating instructions to the letter before progressing to version 3.0, v.3.01 and finally to 3.50. That should patch any potential bugs by missing out on any of the serious revisions of the firmware. This is always handy to have around should things go screwy. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, The OP did state:- "I listen to these units using JBL monitors and AKG headphones." Doesn't appear to be speaker related. A sound sample and an example preset would be a big help here. Let's hope he gets a video posted on YouTube as he mentioned above.
  19. Curiosity already killed it before it was swung!
  20. Huh? The firmware for all the HX family of products is the same, the difference being, the HX Effects is exactly that! It doesn’t have the amp/cab models which the others do. If you want to use your LT in 4CM with your real amps and cabs, simply bypass those models in the Helix. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  21. That’s really worth knowing, because I wasn’t aware of the relevance of the ESN number for Tech Support to be able to find the serial number. To add to all these other options, if you need to find the ESN for a Helix floor unit, hold down FS3&4 while powering up, and you should see it displayed in white letters along the top of the screen. Hope this might help anyone needing to track down a Helix serial number.
  22. Hi, Bob, This error has been reported in here previously on several occasions - if you do a search for 8611, you can should find them. Example: and even one from a couple of days back. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  23. Hi, I realise that this is your first post, but when seeking assistance from other users it’s a real big help to know details of your Computer, Operating System and DAW. It helps to narrow down the possibilities. A simple “me too” post is a little vague. There are many, many threads on here discussing various crash events on many different DAWs and OS. Have you tried searching for specifics. Also, some people post Native problems in the main Helix forum rather than here, and IIRC, there was a spate of posts referring to Reaper and Cakewalk having issues (possibly driver related). If you trawl through the posts in here you should find the details for complete removal and re-installation of HX Native, which have been supplied by Customer Support to others who had problems using Native. Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: You have changed to a different computer? It might also be related to this:-
  24. Hi, Line 6 made a big thing about how good this was and the Release Notes state the new cabs and IRs now use 66-80% less DSP. Guess you will have to revisit the patches - because not only do the save on DSP, they sound good.
