  1. Happened to mine as well. Cleaned the pots and sold it before it happened again.
  2. Global EQ in the settings menu. As far as models, I'd like nothing. I can hit every tone I need with what I have. I'd just like global EQ to make live mixing easier.
  3. For some reason I like the greenbacks the best too for almost every tone I build. Good mids on them.
  4. The Anderton's video had the L6 rep saying the X was a replacement, not an addition to the HD line.
  5. Exactly why I haven't pulled the trigger on a JTV, after issues like that with my variax 300.
  6. I had this same issue a couple years ago after a flash memory update. You may try reflashing and see if it goes away. It worked for me. Good luck!
  7. It also shows how much L6 overprices their gear. You know they still aren't losing money either. Like I said in another post, when the electronics fail, and they will, all you have is an overpriced strat/lp-ish prs/schecter copy. I have to admit, I'm jaded because the saddles on my tremolo-equipped variax had issues with both the model knob and piezo saddles in about 16 months. L6 makes good modelers, but I have 0 faith in their guitars. But there is a caveat. I'd bite on the '59 for $699 too. At least then I could afford another one later when the first fails.
  8. Yep. Those shredder JTV's are pretty ugly. I was just thinking "finally, a reasonable price for a JTV".
  9. I usually just go to guitarbackingtracks.com and use the free ones there. Good to know though!
  10. Posted this in the Pod HD forum too for folks wanting to complete their dream rig. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/search.php?s=s:jtv89sale&utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=email
  11. For all of you dreaming of completing your dream rig, here ya go! http://www.sweetwater.com/store/search.php?s=s:jtv89sale&utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=email
  12. Just being ornery. Now you made my post look incorrect! Change yours back!
  13. For some reason I just noticed the question. No, it's actually a song by an old Seattle band called Tad. Sorry for the late reply.
  14. But you just participated!? You didn't contribute, but you did participate.
  15. The silence of the Experts may speak volumes.
  16. The experts are busy pointing all the newbies to meambobbo's guide. They will comment after something is official. Maybe they are busy learning how the new EQ using Hz works in the 500x. Perhaps they are busy testing out the new amp models that will be released with it? I'm just curious to see if they integrated the power supply and/or put a right angle plug on it. More robust USB port, perhaps?
  17. This is a lot of speculation for something that hasn't been confirmed.
  18. For anyone interested, the process is fairly simple if you go slowly and gently. I finished up last night. All in all it took about an hour. The most difficult part was removing the knobs below the display. They were fairly snug and took some finesse. Other than that, all of the ribbon cables are glued in place to prevent them from falling out. Removing the glue was simple but scary. Thanks for the input everyone, my Pod is working flawlessly again.
  19. Yes it has a mic input on the back. You can hear it through headphones or any other amplified output device such as a PA, amp, computer speakers, studio monitors etc.
  20. By gag order I mean NDA, not just posting opinions. I know L6 Experts can speak their mind.
  21. If I ask L6 "Do you intend to provide at least sime of the fixes that have been requested multiple times through multiple firmware updates that you have neglected so far?" or a more general "Do you still have a team ACTIVELY WORKING on updates to the Pod HD to either correct issues or provide new models?" do you believe I would get an honest answer, or rhetoric? As I said before. I bought my Pod for what it was at the time, not for future additions. I almost pulled the trigger on a JTV as well, but since I had so many issues with my original Variax with the piezo saddles going bad and the model knob failing, I realized that in a few years when the electronics fail in the new JTVs all I will have is an overpriced Gibson/PRS clone. A very pretty one, but nonetheless...
  22. But the volunteers are dyed in the wool users. They have some great knowledge and get some perks related to gear, beta firmware etc.. But are still under gag orders so even if they know they can't say. I like Line6 gear for their price/performance ratio, but they sure miss the mark on customer service and even product engineering. I bought my HD500 for what it could do at the time I bought it, so the extra models are a bonus. But if you are done updating a product to correct issues, just let your customers know so they can make informed decisions for future purchases.
  23. I figured I would have to do that as well. How hard was it to pull the board? It's attached to the display by ribbon cables isn't it?
  24. There is an octave-down effect on the HD that can do a passing simulation if you absolutely must do something. It's not great, but I've used it when I'm looping before. Might be worth a try in a mix too if you are recording.
