Sure, ff you mean real inserts, then you would need two insert cables...use the GTR and Aux inputs and the LR Mainouts (1/4)...Would be a good idea to set the inputQ of the gtr input to 1M or 3M...You can use anything that has inputs and outputs on an insert...You would have to setup dual chain paths for this, set the amps to NONE so there is no amp modeling...you don't need the FX Loop on the HD to do this.
-
Add the volume pedal FX in the last block of your chain...or right before the delays...or right before you distortion effect...It will take up an FX block...The volume pedal cheat could work on a gain FX if you set the pedal on the output parameter, much like setting it on the Channel Volume parameter on an amp model.

I am guessing this is an AC15 without an FX loop and you are running straight into the amp? Without a loop in the amp itself, you will be hard pressed to ever get a POST volume pedal going (behind the VOX PREAMP)...basically, you are stuck using a PRE volume pedal no matter where you place it in the POD chain...You can dedicate it using the pedal 2 jack, but without a loop running 4CM, you won't be able to control the volume of the amp itself in the way I think you are describing that you want to. or am I also missing something?

There is a view that will list some of the patches in a setlist...press the view button until you see a list...I think you can only see 8 at a time... HD Edit is handy, but I only use it to backup tones...I never use it to tweak tones...I can't remember the last time I hooked up Edit actually.

To use the looper, you must have pretty good meter and and start exactly when you click the record button...You must also stop recording exactly where the loop around point would be...The loop does not detect your playing to start recording...You need a real looper for that as this is only a utility looper that is handy for tweaking patches and jamming with yourself...

no problem...that is a strange one. You can actually go backwards on firmware versions if you like. All the will happen is that Monkey will tell you that it is old. However, if you ever did do a rollback, you would need to be sure to get the version of Edit that goes with it. There have been some updates in the past where newer Edit was required. Not sure if the current one would work with the old stuff.

What you did is a Global Reset that only resets the Global Vars, not any of the patches. It can be helpful for some issues....Factory Reset can only be done by flashing the firmware and selecting the option to reset the patches. Never seen a patch spontaneously change in 8 years I have had mine...However, I have been on a different setlist than I thought I was on a few times and had a near heat attack... Was Edit involved in this "working with a bass patch"?...Edit synch can be a little strange at times...

Have an XT, HD400 and HD Desktop. HD400 is a great little pedal but I stopped using it when I got the HD Desktop. 400 is laid out a lot like the XT with the semi-fixed chain. I have been using the HD Desktop with a shortboard for a very long time now and have been very happy with that setup...The 8 FX blocks that can be ordered anyway you want with dual paths is something the 300 and 400s cannot do. That was really what did it for me...dual chains to run FX parallel, dual tones or whatever. It is both my bass rig and guitar rig...The HD400 could do it, just not as well...especially for recording...

If you want to control channel switching, you would have to get a midi relay box and program it...If you really want to interface with that amp, you would be better off with a Helix LT IMO...It has programmable relays built-in. If you decide to do a midi relay box, midi solutions is an option...It will cost you some money time to get that right and it isn't seamless since you have to program the relay box separate from the HD500...Helix LT would be seamless and layout is similar to HD500... http://midisolutions.com/prodrel.htm

If you are using the link, then you are basically only using the power amp in the DT25...You might want to make sure that you time based FX are set POST to insure they are after the amp model. PRE for wah, screamers, ie gain stomps....of you if you like it before the amp....System link is one way.

next time you turn down the channel volume on the loud lead patch...store it and DON"T TOUCH THE MASTER...It's called leveling patches...The MASTER is NOT stored, that is why you usually want to get that level set with you primary patch and then start going thru the others adjusting the channel vol only and SAVING....Lots of back and forth, but you will get the gist after a bit. good luck.

How can I get more comforatble with volume on presets?
spaceatl replied to boydwgrossii's topic in POD HD
I usually light some incense and wear sunglasses...The important thing about leveling out patches is that you NEVER UNDER ANY CURCUMSTANCE TOUCH THE MASTER VOLUME. CHANNEL VOLUME ONLY....It's a lot of back and forth. You can use the mixer to make up for weaker amp models...It's an onging process as leveling by yourself is totally different than when you are with a band...it's situational. -
pianoguy gave that answer...reflashing the firmware is the only way to get back to 100% back to factory.

That is actually how it is designed to work. The POD is an Audio interface. Everything will playback thru the POD and you can monitor your guitar at the same time in real time.
-
Nothing has changed, just that your Windows 10 machine is using the POD and your audio interface. That is if I am understanding you correctly that your old laptop played back thru the speakers connected to the laptop. With that assumption... If you prefer to use your laptop audio interface you will need to go to the sound applet in the control panel and change it. However, if you use your laptop audio interface, you will have latency in the monitoring. better to hook your speakers up to the POD if you want zero latency hardware monitoring.

Well, my guess is the presonus is just a 2 channel interface, so that won't really work...I am not sure which Behringer mixer you have, but likely that would make the most sense to connect to the PC as your audio interface even if it is only 2 track. You 4 cable the HD500 into the mixer using an aux bus...basically that means send an aux to guitar input and return the LR main outs to 2 channels in the mixer. plug your guitar, bass, piano and Vdrums into the mixer directly...To use the POD for guitar you would take the channel out of mix and use the aux send to drive the input of the POD...when playing bass, do the same thing...You can even use it for FX on your piano and Vdrums. Having the guitar and bass dry in channels would also allow you to record guitar dry...It all really depends on if the Behringer can be used as an audio interface or not and if it can capture tracks....Anyway, seems doable with what you have...You could output the mixer to the Presonus...If the presonus have more than two inputs, then that might be a better approach...use addition aux send(s) from the mixer to feed track inputs...It's kinda old school, but it make changing things around pretty simple.

Is the StageScape Mixer recommended in 2018?
spaceatl replied to jhinds7's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Still using mine for initial track capture. recording rehearsals and gigs here and there...Great for getting drums, click and other scratch tracks...Still using mine... -
My DT50 had a lot of white noise when I got it 8 years back or so...I installed Mesa SPAX7s and was sanctioned by Line 6 engineers before doing so. Seems opinions have changed based on non linear data :-)..Still working great and still not noisy. The EH 12AX7s totally suck and are very noisy. I have taken those out of a lot of gear...Good luck.

A good DRS company has hardware, software and experience you probably do not have. Recovery software you buy on the internet is not the same tooling at all. Anyway, just a suggestion nothing more. Good luck to you.
-
You could try a disk recovery service. Their tools are really low level and for a working drive, generally much cheaper...The important thing if you go that route is to stop using the drive ASAP...If the files are there and you write more data, they will get overwritten at some point...If you overwrote the folder during a bulk copy, then that might have happened already...Really hard to know. Good luck

HD300 and HD400 are very different from the Desktop, 500 and PRO. The HD300 and HD400 control hardware is basically like an XT with a semi-fixed chain. encoder control is completely different. Good luck.

In terms of all outputs...Does that include the XLR. 1/4 outs and headphone jack?

Will I still need a good soundcard (at some point)?
spaceatl replied to matonanjin's topic in POD HD
Soundcard is a dated term... lol! Audio Interface...Thanks Phil! If you ever startup your computer without the HD500 attached, it should switch automatically to the built-in audio interface(sound card lol!)...Even Reaper should switch when you start it with the HD500 disconnected. I use Reaper in Windows 10 and this is how it behaves for me. I just had to set it up once. -
They were wiped out by the reflashing of the firmware. That is the only way to reset the patches. You have to use the licence manager to activate the model packs...It's been so long since I did that, I scarcely remember...
