  1. 1) Yes. 2) I don't think so but I'm not 100% sure. I believe each FS can only be assigned to a single FX. 3) No. You need to use different presets for different amps. 4) Yes, although it's difficult to do this 'live' and keep the tempo. It's great for practice. 5) Yes to the first question; no to the second. There is a small lag/gap in the sound. It is not an issue in most cases but depending on your musical/playing style it can be noticeable.
  2. We all have different things we take issue with. For me, sometimes it's the tone the customers (including me) take towards Line 6 and their supporters (including me). We can all express our different opinions without being disrespectful or dismissive. Sometimes we can all fall a bit short of that. But for the most part I find this to be a very respectful place - much more so than other forums I visit.
  3. After viewing the video, some comments: - the VDI connection is providing power to the Variax - your physical connections seem correct, although the cable you are using is not a VDI cable. There is a chance that the connection at the POD (the unshielded cable end) is loose and subject to problems, especially at the point early in the video when you are moving the rack unit and various cords and cables around while the JTV is connected. This can be problematic. Don't use this cable long term. - you should not have the JTV connected to the Pod using both VDI and the 1/4" connection. Again, for a short term test as your video is this is OK but do not do this routinely. .... and some tests for you to perform and report back .... - try using headphones in the Pod. Do you hear any sound then? - engage the tuner. Does it detect the incoming Guitar signal?
  4. Visually inspect the pins inside the VDI jack on both the JTV and the Pod. If any of the visible wires appear bent fashion a J-hook from a standard plastic tie/wrap and use it to gently straighten the wires.
  5. The Pod HD Pro is able to control the Variax. Your preset, and the Pod's Global Variax settings, need to be properly configured but it certainly is a supported feature of the HD Pro.
  6. Not a drive. You'll find a Gain block among the options in the VOL section of the FX blocks.
  7. They're not stupid questions. It is very important, especially with version 2.1 of the Helix editor and the firmware, that you follow the installation instructions exactly. You will find them on the Downloads page where you access the Editor download. On the Downloads page, select Helix in the Software (not Products) field. Make sure you start by downloading the Helix Editor install program and then run the installer file. Install all three items: the editor, driver, and a program called Line 6 Updater. Then run Line 6 Updater to update the device firmware. Also pay attention to the initial instructions re: backing up your current setlists. Don't back up the bundle - use individual setlists.
  8. The cable that comes with the JTV guitars is not a VDI cable. It is designed to work with the Workbench USB interface device that also comes with the JTV. This cable is only protected on one end. The VDI cable is protected on both ends, and you should get one as suggested by stevekc.
  9. I highly doubt it but I'm not 100% certain. The reason I doubt it is that the 32 band EQ in the M20d operates only over L6 Link; it does not operate over the standard analog outputs. Since the Behringer does not have an L6 Link connection it almost certainly won't work.
  10. No. You need to include the VOL FX block in each preset.
  11. When you use the Save function in the app, choose Save to Firehawk (or maybe it's Save to Device?) then select the destination bank/slot.
  12. Move the Looper block/icon to the front of the signal chain.
  13. Not directly. You would have to investigate using a remote-access program that allows you to access your computer remotely, then leave the Helix edit program running on your computer, with the Helix device connected, in your absence. But still you wouldn't be able to hear anything - the Helix device is still producing the audio. I don't think the remote control program would be able to direct the audio to whatever control device you are using.
  14. I'm not sure if this will be helpful to you, and it's certainly doesn't apply as generally as you would wish, but the concept of a Master preset is not far off the Helix concept of a Preset with Snapshots. You can have up to 8 variations of a preset using snapshots. You can assign up to 64 different parameters that can change among the 8 snapshots. But all other parameters are fixed within the preset. That means when you change any one of the unassigned parameters in any snapshot the change is immediately and automatically applied to the other snapshots.
  15. See Appendix B pages 7 and 8 in the Pod HD PROx Advanced Guide.
  16. No - the HD amp packs are not compatible with Firehawk/Amplifi.
  17. Please explain what you mean by 'work'. Mine worked just fine. What exactly are you trying to do and what is happening that isn't what you expect?
  18. I don't think there are any in the Beta area anymore. Since I posted in March the firmware is out of beta and has been promoted to the general area.
  19. Have you checked to make sure that the Re-amp Source for USB 7 on Helix is set to your desired input? It's in Global Settings -> Ins/Outs page 2.
  20. Have you guys read the manual? http://line6.com/data/6/0a0643394ec856b12f66afda1/application/pdf/Firehawk%201500%20Pilots%20Guide%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20A%20).pdf
  21. I wouldn't let this discussion make me distrust anything. Tone is completely subjective, and in this case there are other factors that virtually guarantee that your ears are not hearing the same tone that anyone else's ears are. Are different guitars being used? Even different pickup selections? What about monitoring - amp? Studio monitors? FRFR (or thereabouts)? What size speakers? 5"? 8"? 12"? ALL And ANY of these things contribute significantly to the tone you hear. Trust your own ears and go with the tones YOU like.
  22. Glad it's sorted out. Hope you continue to enjoy your UX2 and Pod Farm.
  23. Check your connections. The L 1/4" output should sum the signal to mono as long as there is no R connection.
  24. You need to purchase a license for Pod Farm 2, or use Pod Farm 1 for which you are already licensed. To get Pod Farm 1 run Line 6 Monkey with your UX2 connected.
