Vocal Settings w/ UX2 and Podfarm 2

What DAW are you using? All DAWs have some way to specify your audio device. It's usually in something called Audio Setup or Preferences. -
Vocal Settings w/ UX2 and Podfarm 2
silverhead replied to crespoftw's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
By default Audacity uses a non-compliant ASIO driver called ASIO4ALL. I strongly recommend that you avoid using ASIO4ALL There have been many reports about performance problems when using it.with Line 6 audio devices. Use the Line 6 driver for your UX2. Line 6 Monkey will help you download and install it. Configure your DAW to use the UX2 and its ASIO driver as the audio input/output device. Having done that you may no longer require the 18db boost and it might be easier to get a better vocal tone in Pod Farm. -
I think he means to configure your DAW to use Helix as the audio input/output device. That should happen automatically when Helix is connectd via USB to your computer, but you may have to go to the Audio Setup section of your DAW and specify that Helix and its ASIO driver be used. When things are set up like this the DAW will playback existing (previously recorded) tracks through Helix, so you will be able to hear the backup track(s) while playing your guitar. This uses USB Inputs 1/2 to Helix from the DAW. However, the title of your thread mentions reamping. Yet (unless I misunderstand) nothing you've described includes reamping, which means routing a previously recorded track inthe DAW to a Helix input for processing. Is that what you are trying to do? If so, you can send any track(s) from your DAW into USB 3/4 or 5/6 as Helix inputs to any path for reamping.

I agree - it's probably a hardware issue with the switch. I suggest you open a support ticket.

Technically you did not buy the pack. You bought the X3 device and got the pack for free - a gift with the restriction that it will only run with an X3 device. You will have to purchase the pack for the XT. (Please don't shoot the messenger.)

I know AMPLIFi and Firehawk devices are different but the underlying technology is the same. I have no issues with the Firehawk app on 9.2.

You could do this in a single recording if you don't use stereo FX in Pod Farm. That way you will be using exactly the same guitar playing input for both Reason tracks, and no need for a repeat performance of the same notes.. Here's how: - In Pod Farm Tone A, apply your PF amps and mono FX as you wish. - In Pod Farm Tone B, do not use any amps/FX. This keeps the tone dry - only the guitar signal is heard. - in the Pod Farm mixer, pan Tone A fully left and pan Tone B fully right. - in Reason, arm two tracks for recording. - in track one select GX1 (the left side of the GX mixer output) as the record source input. Do not use any Reason FX. - in track two select GX2 (the right side of the GX mixer output) as the record source input. Apply the Reason FX that you want to be recorded. - now record the two tracks simultaneously while you play the guitar. On playback you should find the two audio tracks that you describe in the last sentence of your previous post.

There is as spank bundle for v2.21 that was built by a user here using Workbench HD to get as close as possible to the v1.9 spank sounds. I forget who it was (thanks to you!!) and I can't put my finger on the thread at the moment, but if you search you will probably find it. I remember downloading and installing it on my JTV-59 running 2.21. It was very different from the v2.21 spank factory set and very much like what I remembered v1.9 sounding like.

Sorry, I'm still not sure exactly how you have things set up while you are recording, but try this as an experiment..... 1) create a new Reason project file, with no tracks or recordings yet in it. Make sure that Reason is using the GX and its ASIO driver as the audio input/output device (see Audio Setup or equivalent in Reason Settings/Preferences) 2) create a new stereo audio track in Reason 3) select the Pod Farm preset that you want to use for the recording 4) arm the track for recording and select GX1+2 as the stereo input for recording the track 5) IMPORTANT: do NOT add any Reason FX while recording the track 6) IMPORTANT: make sure the Input Monitoring feature is OFF in Reason 7) Record the track When you play the track back you should hear that the recorded sound is exactly the sound you heard in the headphones while recording (except perhaps for volume level, which you can adjust in the Reason Mixer). If this is not the case there is a problem with your audio setup in Reason or with your GX device. If the sound is the same, then the likely explanation for your current problem is either #5 or #6 above. You can always add the Reason Reverb FX to the track on playback, after the track has been recorded without the Reverb FX. And while using the GX you should never have Reason Record Monitoring ON; the GX is your monitoring device.

You can drag and drop FX models to a different location in the signal chain. You don't have complete freedom in doing this but most FX can be relocated. You don't actually remove or add FX. To 'remove' an FX you just leave it turned off. You can 'add' an FX model by selecting an existing model that you want to replace, and then change its Type. For instance, in the picture you show you could change one of the Stomp models to, for instance, a Mod or Delay model and then drag/drop it elsewhere in the chain.

PODHD 300 windows 10 driver problem
silverhead replied to leventebartha's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
Do you have the latest HD300 driver v4.2.7.6? It added support for Windows 10. -
I guess the manual is using generic terminology when it says "Record Send". It probably shouldn't be capitalized because the Daw doesn't see it as a 'send'; it sees it as an input (like Reaper sees Input 1 and Input 2). I think what the manual means is the the signals the Pod is sending over usb are seen in the DAW as signal source input options. In any case, the outgoing 'send' signal level needs to be increased in the Pod (and/or as you point out in the driver control panel), not as an incoming 'input' signal level in the DAW.

Converting tones between Rocksmith2014 and FX100
silverhead replied to ianj001's topic in AMPLIFi TT/FX100
Good. Glad it worked out better than expected. -
You need to increase the Send level from the Pod. Here's a snip from the Pod ProX manual describing how to do that: The Record Send appears as an available audio input/recording device within your audio software. Simply select this Send as the input for your audio track and you’ll be able to record your POD HD Pro X signal. The level of the signal fed to the Send is affected by your POD HD Pro X controls: Mixer block Volume A & B, Amp Model Drive & Volume, FX Model Gain controls, Volume Pedal, etc., (but not the Master Volume knob). For the best recording quality, watch the input meters provided in your software and adjust your level to be at least halfway up, but never “clipping.â€

Check your Record Input Source settings in Reason. After you arm a track for recording you must specify its input source. Perhaps you are only recording Tone B?

Converting tones between Rocksmith2014 and FX100
silverhead replied to ianj001's topic in AMPLIFi TT/FX100
I don't think you'll be able to get anywhere with this idea. It would be great if it were possible but Line 6 AMPLIFi tones (like all Line 6 tones) are in a highly proprietary format - not XML. There is no file format converter that will translate Rocksmith (or any other tone manufacturer's) tone files into AMPLIFi tone files. Even among Line 6 devices it is often impossible to translate the tone files. I don't know anything about Rocksmith, but even trying to copy the tone amp and FX settings is not likely to get you a sinilar sound in AMPLIFi because of the different underlying technology. I think your time would be better spent getting used to creating your own tones in AMPLIFi, or using its Tone Matching feature. Any time spent trying to translate or copy Rocksmith tone files is likely to be wasted. -
What you hear from the headphones while recording is the sound produced by Pod Farm. It sounds like the reverb FX you are adding is not from Pod Farm but from some other software FX library. Reason is adding the Reverb FX to the sound after it leaves Pod Farm and before it is recorded. Hence you don't hear it while recording but you do hear it on playback. If you want to hear the non-Pod Farm FX while recording you will have to turn ON your software monitoring within the Reason program, and turn OFF the direct monitoring feature in the GX. This will most likely introduce some latency; you will hear the sound delayed by some short time after you pluck a note or strum a chord. There are ways to minimize the delay but you may not be able to get rid of it completely. My suggestion is to avoid the delay, leave the GX direct monitoring on, leave the Reason monitoring off, and use Pod Farm as much as possible for the FX. Get the sound in Pod Farm as close as possible to what you want in the end and apply any additional FX to the track after it is recorded. In other words, why are you using the non-Pod Farm reverb FX? Can't you find the same or similar in Pod Farm?

Anyone done the treble bleed mod on JTV-69
silverhead replied to Dshow's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
There is at least one tonal difference between the VDI and analog connection from the JTV into a POD HD device. It has to do with the Input-Z parameter that exists only on the analog input and not the VDI input. -
I use the PA/Reference mode on the L3t with my PODs and Firehawk, especially if also using a MIC connected to the L3t channel input.
