That's what I'm talking about!!!

Trust me... tweak your cabs and settings! You may find a patch you didn't like turn into a mainstay...
-
Yep... I can handle doing my own tone matching versus getting the editor and some of the other idea scale features.
-
I should have known...
-
Yep... if I had a Helix Editor, I'd definitely be a Pro, then... yessiree, Bob...
-
Dangit....... here I thought I was a "pro" because I got paid to play at all those bars and stuff... aCk!!!
-
Oh well... I give up...

Compression and gain are your friend!
-
Yeah... I haven't even experimented much with dual cabs other than when they were already in a preset. Amazing what you can do to the tone with the stock cabs. Faster than having to load a ton of IR's, too!
-
Jeez... I know that riff... you know you're going get at least one person to guess Looks That Kill by mistake, right? Hehe
-
I played ONLY with the 5150, which is not MY favorite model. By the time I got through most of the cabs and the mics on each one... WOW!!!!!!!!! Way more tones in there than the HD500X had! I have a feeling I'm going to be deep tuning cabs on all of my presets now. Don't even have to touch an amp parameter for awhile. Just cab tweaking is amazing. Glad I finally had a non lazy moment!

You are very talented and creative! I wish that I had half of your talent and playing ability! Very cool stuff!

I too have purchased most of what Glenn Delaune has put out for the Helix. I can promise you that his Helix patches are plenty bright. :D

Can't wait to see what the next firmware will include besides bug fixes and tweaks. Helix can only get better and better as time goes by. I know Line 6 employees can't say much to us here, but I'm sure that it was planned all along for the product to be expanded over time. You've got to feel like Line 6 is probably at least a little shocked at how far demand is ahead of supply since it's release and first shipments. I know there are those that have gone another route after returning theirs, but I'm not a fanboy and have been very impressed. I've also expected some growing pains knowing that firmware updates/improvements are a way of life for any product of this type. It's a good time to be a guitarist!

If you get enough FRFR wattage and drivers, you can make the back of the pants legs still move... hehehe. Kinda defeats the idea behind no longer needing insane stage volume to get great tone, though. I do, however, run my FRFR monitors fairly hot, though. Still having to compete with a traditional tube amp guitarist on the other side of the stage. Bass player is also using a bass rig on that side as well. It's still a heck of a lot quieter, though. I have mine on a pole. Up near the ear level back behind me.
-
Dang, Phil... I would have figured you'd be FRFR with the Helix already... Shocker!!!
-
I would say they are certainly making money since they can't keep up with demand at all. :)

Mission for Kemper didn't work right. Had to buy the Line 6 compatible one. None of my other pedals worked either.
-
12" and 15" Seismic Audio SAX series coaxial powered monitors. They have low and high eq if ever needed. Work great for me.
-
A drop of SuperLube non toxic oil will keep anything from squeaking for a VERY long time!
-
Cool! Glad it all worked out well!

While equally great sounding products, I sold my Kemper and Axe FX II XL+ about 2 weeks after my Helix arrived and I played with it for those couple of weeks. I just liked the idea that I could get equally good tones out of a single pedal board versus having to haul both a rack and MIDI pedal around with the other two.

Helix will only get better, too. I'm thinking with the higher than projected early sales that the engineering crew will be adding plenty more models and tweaks!
