lizardprof07
the only info we have about the update for regular pod HD Pro users is a few more weeks? that's bogus because the email i received letting me know it was available doesn't specify that anywhere. spent 50 bucks on the metal pack and i want to use these damn tones haha. any info would be appreciated.
ColonelForbin
Sounds like bees in a can. If that's what you want it should be perfect. The Shiva is phenomenal to me. Yes, and yes! What did you do to get the 5150 sounding better? I was checking out the new models with the DT linked up, and that one jumps right out. I think I ended up turning down the treble and presence. I like the Shiva, I might have changed the cab to 4x12. cruisinon2
Well, happy to report that both firmware and model packs are installed and working. Only had one minor hiccup...when loading the model packs from the license manager I got an error...it claimed to have failed to write them to the POD. Actually happened twice, so I powered it off and on, and there they were...weird, but who cares? They're in there... New JCM800, Variac'ed Plexi, Bogner, and Orange have my attention so far. Really wanted to like the 5150, but so far is not moving the needle for me...but time with it had been limited, so we'll see.
cdkane
With the 5150 I found lowering the bias to about 25%, upping the res to about 55%, presence at about 3 o clock drive at about 11 o clock did the trick for me. I generally keep the bass and treble at about 2 o clock and mids at about 8 o clock. Cab was a treadplate with a 57 off axis. Sounds legit to me. Going to add the screamer when i next get a chance.
jbbnbsmith
I'm fairly new to the Line 6 community. Picked up a JTV69s last April and just recently bought a 500x to go with it. I had been using a Boss GT-8 for about 8 years prior. I really like the Pod HD! It is much easier to program than the Boss. Now I just loaded the new flash and the new models tonight. Everything went smoothly with no trouble at all. I haven't messed around too much with the new amps yet, but I am happy to have.a Jazz Chorus model again. I also like the acoustic amp. It is a bit easier to get a good sound than tweaking preamps and eq. That Orange and the Fender Champ are pretty sweet, and also the new Vox models. Fun stuff. aeugle
When will the packs and V2.6 available for POD HD500?
edstar1960
..... And what are all the patches with amp names and LVM after their names. What are those about? ...... I think they are patches that are optimised for use with DT amps when using Low Volume Mode (LVM).
DrFix
So, nobody is posting clips of the new amps? I'm waiting for non-X version, but unsure if buying packs or not.

jbbnbsmith
Just ran through the new Variax model specific presets that came with 2.6. There are some really useful tones in there. Way better than some of the rediculous presets that originally came with the Pod. I will actually use many if these. Thanks!

cruisinon2
Can someone explain the 30 day money back trial? How can I get my money back if I don't like the models? This is America...threaten litigation. Just kidding...I have no idea. Probably involves a phone call, or at the very least opening a support ticket. Even if the guys that handle those have nothing to do with it, they should be able to direct you to the right person.

clay-man
I hope the 5150 is great. I've been using the Treadplate for 5150-esque tones, so I'd expect an actual model based on the 5150 to do the job better. Would be great for some In Flames. jandrio
they seem 2 work on "hd500-Edit-offline", besides some which show "blank" variax model (eg 16C-StereoDobro, 15C-Acoustic5th, 14C-UnderTheMilky, etc)... this symptom is also present on "hd500x-Edit-offline" as well. phil_m
What is Acoustic? Is it an amp model for an acoustic guitar, or an acoustic emulator for an electric guitar? It is a model ported from the XT/X3 series. I believe it is the Variax Acoustic model. It's not an acoustic emulator. Line 6 Variax Acoustic – One of the great features of the Variax Digital Modeling Guitars from Line 6 are their models of acoustic instruments. These sounds are best appreciated through a full range monitor or P.A., due to their high frequency content. This Amp Model was created in order to allow the Variax’s acoustic models to sound as full-range as possible through the speakers of typical guitar amps. This can come in handy when you’re using an acoustic model from a Variax, and listening to it through a guitar amp’s speakers. Keep in mind that since this model provides a large amount of high frequency boost (to compensate for the natural roll-off of typical guitar speakers) and overdriving a model playing an acoustic guitar is not usually a desired thing, this model will likely appear softer than most of its compatriots. If you need more gain, the Drive knob can be used to add some tube preamplification.
jbbnbsmith
I have the same thing.. It's posted in another thread that LINE6 is already looking into this. It is a model of an amplifier used for acoustic guitars that have pick-ups. No noticeable break-up even with the drive set to 100, four EQ knobs, amp level, speaker, etc. So no, not an acoustic guitar SIM or model but an amp model. rojitolijo2fg
are my model packs hd installed well ? why appears a "Pre" after the new amps ? its that ok? , some amps a lit bit of them are just the name like " Mahadeva" and have also a " Mahadeva Pre" , and others the most of them appear just in " Pre" .. am i missing something ? :( Thank you! duncann
The 'pre' versions don't have the power amp modeling, just the pre amp section of the amp. That also means the pre versions don't have the deep edit parameters for the amp.

CipherHost
Hi I cant seem to find the Variax specific presets anywhere? Do you know where I can find these? The titles of the setlists did not come over when I did the FW update even though I chose to overwrite my existing tones. It did overwrite the tones though. The Variax setlist is the sixth setlist going from left to right, top to bottom. Here is the list I downloaded from the forum. I just can't find exactly where the link is. Dave Thanks. I went to school in Davenport; Palmer. Worked on the riverboats too; different boats on both sides of the river. It is a pretty nice area as I recall. The flooding of the Mississippi wasn't so bad, but I had second thoughts my first winter there in 93. One day the temp was -15 with a wind chill of -45. davidb7170
Lotsa Chiro's here!! :D I've gigged on the boats. They seem to be moving the casino's on land now. Yup winters can be brutal. I've been here since '78, for a job after college. Wow, that's 37 years, now.... Dave
