  1. All the JTV's I've worked on, haven't come across the Turbo yet. Maybe someone else here has. Getting a replacement bridge assembly for an 89F, it has a trem arm already fitted to it. They are very snug.
  2. The 89F is a Graph Tech bridge, of a Floyd Rose design. Do you lock it with the threaded collar? I ask, because I've serviced hundreds of JTV's and haven't had much wiggle with the 89F's at all.
  3. The 89F bridge and trem arm are individually matched up, so that there less play for wiggle or wobble to occur. Any 3rd party device may or may not fit as you would want.
  4. "Are the tremolo bars sold, interchangeable with the different models of JTVs"---- 69 trem bars just works with 69's, the 30-51-0381 part number for the 2nd generation bridges starting around 2011. That part number is still available.
  5. You could go through Models Gallery in the Online Pilot's Handbooks and compare the models. Legacy models are not loadable to JTV or Standard, and vice versa. In JTV (and Standard), v2.00 and after is "HD", so using Workbench has to be the "HD' version. JTV and and Standard are not cross compatible, contrary to other postings. The switch configurations and Alt Tune layouts are different. There may be the same Models across the JTV body types, but each body type has its own individual switch configuration and Alt Tune selection. So except for the Models themselves, the JTV body types do not have cross compatible programs.
  6. If you are using the Battery and 1/4",... does the cable have a Tip/Ring/Sleeve (TRS) plug or just Tip/Sleeve (TS)? As with many guitars with "active" electronics, you should use TRS cable for this guitar.
  7. Cruis,... you're one of the sharper ones here. And I'm not the one who talks conspiracies, there are those who do. And you aren't conspiracy person from what I gather,.... but there are those out in the forum world who are.
  8. The same could be said about believing in every conspiracy theory that comes down the pipe.
  9. More like a couple dozen,... and that's just in North America. If it were just on, things would be different. No mushrooms here, and I don't use manure for gardening. Another myth bites the dust. The example I cited was a more memorable one,... unfortunately, not the only. Yes, "morons will forge ahead, with or without ..."--- so I'm trying to keep that to a minimum. Trying to keep everyone from learning the hard way. Trying to keep your gear from ending up on my bench.
  10. "I have the same issue and was told here on the forums that its normal, that all the presets have preset volumes as part of the settings"---- Yes, the presets have their own default volumes they start at. Some normalization is done. It can be taken only so far before the Modeling is adversely affected. Preset changing on its own is something else. It should be looked at by an authorized service center.
  11. "Line6 is virtually alone among guitar makers in holding basic setup information as a deep, dark proprietary secret"---- Too many people who said they knew what they were doing,... didn't. So we had to pick up the pieces once too many times. So it was decided not to put out set-up specs. Dealing with mag and piezo interactions on the same guitar just complicated it. One guy said he was a guitar tech, and his JTV-69 came back with the neck so shimmed, the angle of the neck-to-body was more like a violin than a guitar. He changed the string gauges and set the tremolo tension all wrong to where the tail of the bridge was sticking up in the air. So it was decided not to put out the set-up specs. So,... sorry to kill the conspiracy theory, but,... no dark secrets, no black helicopters or men in black. Just too many people who claimed they knew what they were doing,... and didn't.
  12. If you are not getting two green LED's on the interface, and you are not plugged into a USB hub,... yes you do. And use a headphone adapter or a TRS plug patch cord, plug into the 1/4" jack,... that engages the battery. There should be a switch click inside, and both LED's should be green. When you have that, you're ready to go.
  13. Factory strings are D'Addario XL110. If you change gauges, don't forget to have the set-up checked, and if needed, adjusted. Change in gauge results in change in string tension, which can alter set-up (relief, action, intonation, tremolo tension and pick-up distance to the strings). Have a factory authorized service center do this, as they will have service info access.
  14. Carefully pull the knobs off and make certain all of the retaining nuts on the pot shaft are snug, not tight, but snug. If that doesn't do it, then it's something internal and needs to be taken in for servicing. Log a ticket in your account, contact Line 6 support and get a return authorization. For the authorized service near you,... http://line6.com/find/service_center/
  15. Right you are Rewolf48,... String end is a rare one. Haven't seen one come across my bench in quite sometime. But the strap button screw into the board, shorting everything out, is one I still see all too often. So just be aware.
  16. Broken string ends will do it. Too long of a screw when changing strap buttons and then the screw goes into the board shorting everything out. I don't have enough fingers to count how many times those have come across my bench. As the cop says on TV,... "let's be careful out there".
  17. If it's just the low-E, then the set-up needs to be dialed-in.
  18. That's fine for a Les Paul and if it's a bone nut. This is not a Les Paul. In the end, it's more to do with the breaking angle to the tuning post. The string eye on the tuning post, the breaking angle from the post to the nut, the string height above the fret board and how that all fits with the rest of the set-up between the nut and the bridge. That's what matters. In the end, there is no one size fits all. If you want to take advice from a tech, read Dan Erlewine. He literally writes books on this stuff.
  19. I know Silverhead, he knows what he's talking about. Log a ticket with Line 6 support. They can issue a return authorization.
  20. Idea Scale is a good start. There are a number of people above me. All I can do is make recommendations. As with here, some take my advice, some don't,... in spite of my four decades plus, in the tech world. I put my two sense (or cents) into it, then it's up to others after that. Part of that two sense is, don't try to go beyond what the product is designed to do, it just creates more problems for you. Understand what it does and how it does it,... then run with it. This is a sharp bunch of people here, or I wouldn't be here. Rock on!
  21. There's more than likely a tolerance variation, within specs I think that Full Compass might be able to special order a pick-up cover. Nothing special about the pole spacing I'm aware of. They line up with the strings just fine.
  22. Check the manual for using the "edit page" to do set up on the input/output configuration you are trying to do.
