Helix amp channel switching with Mesa Boogie Lonestar Special

When you send RING, it turns OFF TIP, and vice versa. You may need to send 1 and 2 to prevent channel changing when you select SOLO. -
Helix amp channel switching with Mesa Boogie Lonestar Special

Plug TIP into the "SOLO" jack? Set a FS to EXT AMP TIP? -
Only problem I've seen is with uploading.
-
Trying to upload an image. I have 1.34 MB available, image is 65k .png. Just hangs on "Uploading". Not a problem in the past. I don't see a way to contact the forum admin.

I recorded a track in audacity, just strumming an "A" chord. I then played over it it "A". No problem. I went looking for the sample rate that Audacity is using, it was 44.1. No problem with Stomp at it's default 48k. I changed it to 48k. No problem. Whatever your problem is, it's in Audacity. Before you return it, try downloading another DAW. Both Reaper and Cakewalk are excellent and FREE (Reaper is unlimited trial and $60 when you're ready).

TRS to Dual Mono. -
Are you using a factory preset? Does it have a pitch block?

My Journey: Rokit6 Monitors Alto TS210 HR FRFR112 Egnator Tweaker 15/112 Combo Powercab 112+ Admittedly, I'm still in the honeymoon stage with the PC112+. I will say this - it's the first time I've been happy with my presets that include Helix Cabs OR IRs, right out of the box. I'm still playing with the emulated speakers. Hard to find the proper times to crank those up in an apartment for the "TRUE AITR EXPERIENCE". So far I'll only say that they're - different. That said: Sorry bud, no magic bullets here. Just a lot more options to play around with. I definitely think it's worth a try before trading it all in for a Fender GT or L6 Spider. :-) But consider this. The BEST sounds I'm getting are with the PC+ XLR Out connected to my FRFR112. The combination sounds HUGE, even at 70db. And, if I turn down the PC+ so that all I hear is the FRFR112, the FRFR112 still sounds like crap not so good. Go figure! So, go for it, but I'd hang onto the K10 too.....

Latency will be around 20ms RT with Helix on your i5 at 128/48. Around 12ms with a mid-range AI like Focusrite Scarlett. I get 7.6ms RT with Scarlett at 64/48 on an i7 with 16gb. You can get down to around 4ms with a latest gen i9 and high end AI. How much do you want to spend to be able to use plugins?
-
AI = Audio Interface. Using an external AI, you take the SEND of the Helix FX Loop to the AI's Input, and the AI's Output to the Helix FX Loop Return. Don't forget the FS assignments to toggle the Helix amps and unnecessary FX when you switch the FX Loop ON. Using Helix as AI, you set the Output on Path 1A to USB 1/2, and the Input on Path 2A to USB 3/4. You set the Input on the track with your plugin to 1/2 and the Output to 3/4.
-
Using Helix as AI, only way I've found is to use a dedicated preset, as you can't (AFAIK) use a FS or Snapshot to change the Ins/Outs. Using an external AI, piece o'cake! Just use an FX loop to/from the AI and assign the loop and any Helix amps/FX that you don't want on when using the plugin to a FS.

1) Use a Snapshot. 2) No.

Do I have a defective HX Effects? Amp channel switching problem
rd2rk replied to revolver1010's topic in Helix
For the Bugera, try this. On each Snapshot, set Instant Command 1 to "NONE", then set IC2 to the proper selection. In Global Settings>Preferences, set Snapshot Edits to RECALL. Once all the Snapshots are working, then go to the Snapshot you want to load first and SAVE. The Dual/TripleRec is a PITA to get to work. I've worked with a couple of users on different versions, and the only way we've gotten it to work was with MIDI and the VooDoo Labs Control Switcher. -
Well, we ARE talking about the Stomp here. I have one for my desk. For serious performance, I have no problem getting guitar and bass out of my Floor, with the Stomp for backup. If I MUST use kitchen sink presets, I can always use the Stomp for bass. But I get what you're saying. I wish my KIA was a Ferrari. :-) Horses for courses.

Unless your 8 blocks exceeds the DSP limit of the Stomp.
-
My understanding is that if you're using 6 low DSP blocks, you might be able to use additional effects, rather than being limited by having only 6 blocks to use. It has nothing to do with changes to algorithms or better DSP optimization. It's being included "by popular demand".

Guitar>Helix Input>Effects>FX Loop L (or R) Block>Helix Send L (or R)>Amp Input>Amp FX Loop Send>Helix Return L (or R)>Effects>Helix Left/Mono Out>Amp FX Loop Return

"4. Holding footswitch 9+10 on boot restores presets, setlists, globals and IRs (restores factory bundle) "THIS WILL OVERWRITE ALL USER PRESETS AND SETLISTS" Above should get you back to "factory" presets and settings. If that doesn't work you'll likely need to re-install the latest FW. DL the latest version of HXEdit (2.82) and follow the instructions. Close HXEdit before running the updater! If you're trying to get back your custom setlists, you'll have to restore them from your backups. You DID make backups, right?
-
Did you update the all drivers including Motherboard drivers? Did you open a support ticket?
-
OK, I figured out it's RECORD START. I've been running this for about two hours now, randomly starting and stopping, recording, no glitches. Again, intermittent is the worst to troubleshoot.

I wasn't able to use your cues track because the Program Changes are too few and far between to be useful for testing. Also, they're not working. Maybe something weird about how Cubase records them? There's also no Snapshot MIDI events, probably because Snapshot MIDI doesn't transmit automatically like Program Changes, you have to set an Instant Command to send the proper Snapshot Messages. I recorded a MIDI track in Reaper that simply cycles through your Presets every couple of bars, looped it, and let it run. Every so often I pressed the Spacebar Hotkey, and so far it's worked every time. What does the other Hotkey do? In Reaper, "*" is not a factory shortcut. If You tell me what it does in Cubase I can configure Reaper to duplicate the action. Meanwhile, I'll leave it running for a while and hit the Spacebar key once in a while to see if I can get it to fail.
