Funny you should ask..... I have a Powercab112+ ($475 used). I also have a Bugera 112TS and EHX .44 Magnum ($150 used). I just spent two hours running through Helix amps (and Powercab speakers) A/B ing them. I can't decide which I like better. I think I'll use them in stereo. Or I could sell the Powercab and get another guitar...... I'm definitely selling my Tweaker15 Combo. Tubes are so yesterday. You said the OTS sounds great, and is loud enough for your needs. It's also got tone controls. A wise man once said: "If it works, don't fix it!" Obviously, not a politician or a commissioned sales person. It sounds like you have a serious case of G.A.S. Play your guitar, you'll get over it! Unfortunately, I've never been good at following my own advice.......

If, after applying phil_m's suggestion, you still have problems, enable MIDI over USB and use a MIDI Monitor (MIDIOX for PC, MIDI Monitor for MAC) to verify that no MIDI is being sent.

Instant Commands (the lightning bolt) execute when the Preset (or Snapshot) loads. Just assign the appropriate command (the ones you're currently using on footswitches) to an Instant Command.

I'm definitely on 2.92 (?,ABOUT), and it's not there (Floor).

Name your Snapshots the normal way, on the main screen using "Rename". The Snapshot you choose for the PRESS function will be the name on the Scribble Strip. I don't remember the details, but I seem to recall that the Customize function was causing a problem, so they removed it.

In Reaper/Options/Preferences/Audio/Device, Is Helix ASIO selected? Are all of the LT Inputs/outputs defined? Is the Input on the Track set to 1 (MONO) or 1/2 (STEREO)? If the above is correct, you are recording Audio. When you Render the track, is this what you're seeing? If YES to all of the above, I got no clue.

VERY strange! Perform a factory reset: If that doesn't fix it, open a support ticket.

I did a quick test, using only the Output Block Level set differently on three consecutive presets. When you enter Bypass Mode, the screen says "Analog Bypass! Press any switch". As soon as you press ANY switch, such as to change presets, you're OUT of Bypass Mode. The Knob is disabled, so you can't switch presets that way. I connected an FCB1010 so that I could switch presets via MIDI, and used HX Edit to confirm that the presets are actually changing. There was NO change in levels when switching between the three test presets via MIDI (WITHOUT pressing a switch). Analog (TRUE) Bypass is, indeed, TRUE Bypass. EDIT: In DSP Mode it behaves as you described, which makes sense since the signal is still being processed. From the manual: NOTE: There are two types of All Bypass in HX Stomp: Analog bypass (sometimes called "true bypass"), where mechanically switching relays route your signal directly from the inputs to the outputs with no processing or A/D/A conversion, and DSP bypass, where any delay echoes and reverb tails decay naturally. By default, HX Stomp is set for Analog bypass, but this behavior can be set from "Global Settings > Preferences".

Sorry, but that was the best I could come up with. To be clearer, my experience (which is what you asked for) is that the the expression pedal on the Helix Floor is a VERY robust device, and I can't imagine ANY degree of NORMAL usage (I don't SWELL, but I WAH a lot) that would cause your problem. If it's not Led Boots (reason for the smiley :-) ), then maybe you somehow got some grit in the mechanism that caused an unusual rate of wear, or maybe you lucked out and got a defective unit? Just guessing here. Is your Helix still under warranty?

I set mine once, four years ago when I bought it, haven't touched it since. Led Boots? :-)

Impressive! I'm not sure how useful it will be to me personally, but as a technical history of the Helix line it's bound to be helpful to somebody. Thanks for all the work you put into this!

All MIN means is the value of the parameter when the Switch is OFF (LED not lit). Conversely, MAX is simply the value of the parameter when the Switch is ON (LED ON). Each parameter assigned to a single switch will have it's own MIN/MAX settings. Set them any way you like!

Great, all inclusive explanation! This is indeed one of those subjects that gets brought up repeatedly. I've taken to saving my explanations in Notepad files so that I don't have to re-type them over and over. This particular explanation deserves a sticky! Oh, wait, nobody reads the stickies.....

Not two completely different presets, no If you had two completely different tones, Clean on Path A and Distorted on Path B, you could assign an expression pedal to fade one out while fading the other in, but each tone would need to fit entirely within it's own discreet path.

It doesn't matter, you're selecting which S/R to use 1 (Left) or 2 (already in use). See my followup post for a much easier and more logical solution. This is what happens when I try to multi-task during a weight lifting session - I need to hit myself it the head with a dumbbell to get my thoughts in order!

Another way to do this is to use only one output block. At the mixer block pan Path A hard Left and Path B hard right. Then take the L/MONO out to the amp and the RIGHT out to the Torpedo. This is the simplest way and leaves you with another FX Loop if you need it.

OK then! If Path A Output Block is panned hard left and you're using the L/MONO out to go to the amp's FX Return AND Path B Output Block is panned hard left and you're using Send 1 (no FX Loop Block needed) to go to the Torpedo Input THEN You should be good. If the Output Block can only be set to S/R 1/2, then 1 is usually LEFT, which is why (I think) it should be panned hard left. I don't have the HXFX, but I have the HX Stomp which works the same way but with S/R 3/4.. I tested this and it worked (Send 3 panned hard left), so try it.
