  1. If I use my Sony MDR-V7506, 63 Ohms, with the headphone output, it works, but the volume control is so close to zero and it is LOUD. So higher impedance headphones would work much better, or use one of the other outputs on Helix to another amplification system for use with lower impedance headphones.
  2. That's currently how I'm using it, because there are some unique effects in there, or some that are absent from Helix. One in particular I can't do without is the auto-volume delay.
  3. Isn't this already in Helix? Under sends/returns, either mono or stereo, called an FX Loop block.

    Wah setting

In addition, or in place of, limiting the upper range, you could also assign the amp's treble and presence controls to the same expression pedal as the wah. So when you move towards the upper end of the wah, it will also decrease the amp's treble and/or presence.
  5. Where the editor will really come in handy for me is final tweaking for a tone for a track in a song that has a dry track recorded. Combined with Helix's reamping, everything will be right there in my direct line of sight, DAW and a virtual Helix via editor.
  6. If you want just the factory setlists back, hold 7 & 8 while powering on. This shouldn't reset globals or IRs. Then load back your custom setlists, which you hopefully saved first. Then export the factory setlists for future importing. Or you can download the attached, from version 1.03 firmware. helix.1.03.factory.setlists.zip
  7. I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Whenever I recalibrate the pedal on my 500X it almost never works correctly the first time. I get values as high as 45 sometimes for a minimum. Keep trying, it should eventually work. One tip is to very slightly tighten the allen-bolt for the pedal. Over time it can lose some of it's tension, sometimes to the point of the pedal falling slightly under it's own weight. Another tip is to try and blow out any dust from underneath the pedal.
  8. I miss this one as well. The 3 osc synth might be able to get something similar in the meantime, possibly in combination with some other effect. I haven't really messed with it too much yet.
  9. They fixed this with the latest update to the Librarian.
  10. I was wrong, it's not 1/2, but 1/2 dotted and 1/1. 1/2 sounds almost exactly the same as 0.1 for the rate, so it makes sense what you said above.
  11. I've noticed that with at least the ubiquitous vibe, 1/1 and 1/2 don't seem to work.
  12. Yea. Shift click. First, in the application, select the location where the first IR will be. Then click import. The file selection dialog that pops up is where you use shift-click to select multiple IRs to import.
  13. You can sort of do this now by using pedal edit mode, then using switches 10 and 11.
  14. That's really strange behavior. The only thing I can think of doing is some sort of reset, probably 7 & 8 while powering on, which resets only the setlists to factory. If that doesn't work, maybe try a global reset, 5 & 6. By the way, I remember a post by DI somewhere where he mentioned 'user-facing' globals, which implies globals that the user can't see. So a global reset is well worth doing if you're having some sort of problem. There is some stuff they seem to have fixed. For example, setlists are no longer 'squished' if there are empty presets (New Preset) in between custom ones. They have also allowed multi-selection using the import function for IRs and single presets, which seems to cure some other odd behavior (mainly re-ordering of IRs). Still not sure about using drag and drop with this application - it still seems a little weird. But with the multi-selection, now it's no big deal.
  15. You have to look closely. When I said columns and row, that means pixels. And there is not much affected by this, other than the top left corner of the screen, and the line that goes across the entire screen near the bottom.
  16. I notice this also. The first two columns are shifted down one row.
  17. It could be that when the editor is released it will allow for an offline mode. The current Helix application for managing presets, setlists, and IRs doesn't have any functions that are useful in an offline mode.
  18. Thanks for the heads up. I suppose one could use one these with the referenced power supply.
  19. A setlist file appears to be a text file with an entry containing encoded data, which would be the actual setlist. So that would account for the small size as compared to a preset file. A preset file is also just a text file. I wouldn't be surprised if some crafty person wrote a third party application to make Helix presets in an offline manner. Not sure about the problem you're having though. I updated everything, did a factory reset, and loaded up a setlist fine.
  20. Here's one that would work also: http://www.trcelectronics.com/View/Mean-Well/GSM36B09-P1J.shtml
  21. A bundle is every setlist on the device and save as setlist is one setlist.
  22. Can't you just turn off the monitoring in your DAW, Pro Tools? In Reaper, with monitoring on, I also get a doubled signal.
  23. For some of the Line 6 original effects, you can sort of find out what some parameters do through experimentation. At least what they do sonically but not necessarily technically. For other models, take a look at the manual to find out what an effect is modeled from, and then search the internet for that effect for an explanation of the parameters. It would be helpful for Line 6 to provide a nicely laid out document for this though.

    HD500x cabs

You might already know this, but a lot of people find that turning the resonance cab DEP to zero makes things better. Turning this to zero also neutralizes both thump and decay. I've found that I actually like the resonance turned up past the 50% default for a lot of cabs, but some do sound better with it at zero.
