That's good advice but he did say the noise went away when he unplugged the USB cable so I don't think this will address his particular issue.

The Helix has the capability of becoming the computer's soundcard so that's a possibility. Try checking out what device your computer is using for a soundcard and switch it if it's using the Helix. I'll bet the noise goes away if that's the case.

No reason to wait.

Check your inputs and outputs. There are a lot of options. That got me a few times when I first got the Helix.

Off topic......Saw Jethro Tull with Martin Barr at an outdoor concert about 15 years ago. His two Matchless amps were both on Anvil crates. About 1/2 way through, the amps fell over because someone hadn't seated the Anvile's lids properly. He just calmly went over and with the crew that was there, put the amps back up and kept playing. That wasn't the only thing that happened either. As frustrated as I know they were, it in no way affected their performance other than doing what they had to do to fix the immediate problem. I kept looklig for two cheap Matchless amps on Ebay but no luck. (was Ebay even around then?)

I've heard of this before as well. And 75% was the amount suggested.

Hey!!! That's what she told me!!! I'm at Walmart right now, getting a bunch of Walmart gift cards.

Assign the same footswitch you use to turn it off and on to your feedback level so it goes to 0 when you turn it off and goes to the level you want when you turn it on. I think that may solve the issue

You do need to be a little more specific and it's been awhile since I've touched my HD500 but you essentially assign your JTV Variax's magnetic pickups to one input and the JTV Variax's modeling to another, he assigned an acoustic model. You then assign your volume pedal to adjust the outputs of each path. One path you make the Expression pedal toe down 0 and toe up 100 and the other vica versa. Expression pedal toe down 100, toe up 0.l

Haters? WOW. That word gets tossed around way too much these days, to the point where it's lost it's meaning. This would be an example of that. Your first line is essentially a whine about how long it's been. re: It doesn't change time and circumstances. The time is obvious and the circumstances are...you got a Helix. It has some stuff on it. You will get more stuff. You don't know when that will be. It's been stated on another forum that there won't be anymore stuff until next year. Currently, the policy is to not let you know when the stuff is coming until it's really close. This has a lot to do with threads similar to this one. Since we nothing's been said officially; it isn't really close. There have been threads about what we know will be in the next update. So I'm not quite sure what kind of agenda you're pushing here. Other than whining about how long it's been since the last update.

Assuming you are using Windows, Right click the folder and click on EXTRACT. It will create another folder in the same place your zip folder is in unless you tell it to do something else. Then click and drag your IR.

I always loved that he did that. I recall one tour he had a bunch of chicken roasters cooking chickens on stage that I believe, fed the road crew afterwards.

I've had similar experiences as well. Enough that I don't consider that those comments have any validity and has convinced me that modeling has reached at the very least, a respectable level. I like what I'm hearing and that's all that matters anyway. The naysayers can say whatever they want. The Helix does and sounds like what I want. If it doesn't to anyone else, my only comment, argument or discussion point is, don't get one. I've given up trying to convince anyone of anything. It's all about the music anyway. No matter how I get there.

POD Farm 2.5 - compatible with Pod XT Live patches?
brue58ski replied to kylotan's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
It's been awhile but I'm prety sure Pod Farn 2.0 is compatible with the XT patches. -
Line 6 offers these free IR's https://line6.com/allure/ And just type in free IR in the search. There are a couple of threads that will get you started down the rabbit hole.

It may not be his department but I bet heknows something

I've gotten several Varaix survey's in the past year asking my opinion about what a Varaix should have, etc. A new Varaiax? That is a big assumption on my part.
-
FYI and FWIW. It's been stated on The Gear Page that the update won't happen this year. So people can stop holding their breath until after December.

You can use anything that's mono. You could just add a mono volume pedal after each reverb. That would be pretty much the least amount of DSP used to get this effect.
-
What codamedia said. The solution to your issue is snapshots. I do this all the time. One basic patch and each snapshot is a different guitar. Do you know about snapshots?
-
That wasn't my experience as I recall, with the HD series. That's why that document that I linked to was created. As far as Helix goes, that's good news. I haven't tested them to see, so total stereo is a good thing.
-
These only represent the legacy reverbs which is what the subject was about.

Here's a chart showing the signal flows of the four types; Mono, Stereo THRU/Stereo, Stereo THRU/Mono and True Stereo https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1xzHkOJtKipVGRQUXdrYmxQcE0/edit I'm still trying to find the list of what each reverb is. AND, has this been changed? Are they all True Stereo in the Helix?
-
I don't know if thisi still true but some of them summed the input to mono and then output a stereo reverb image.

That's nornal. Go here read step 3a, line 6.
