Of course there is, but If you cant figure this one out on your own i have to wonder if youve given any effort at all. Not only is this about as simple as it gets, but youve given a link to a thread where its been discussed in full detail, with pictures and step by step instructions, and for whatever reason still feel the need to start another thread about it. I apologize if i am missing your point, but short of coming to your house and setting it up for you, im not sure what else can be done?
-
I agree man...and thats all they are really doing now anyway. Its all they CAN do. Delay is really only about the time, feedback and width. Anything else is just a creative option mixed into the delay. I dont need line 6 to do that for me personally. Id rather see them concentrate on more important things. Just my opinion though.

Yeah, that guy did a pretty good job though. The tone of his guitar was off for sure. I feel like it would be easier to cop the tone rather than the fx because studio fx are often automated, but i thought dude here did a pretty with that part. I feel like he could have gotten closer with a little more EQ. Apologize for the other forum members. They are not capable of making their comment and moving on if they dont like the thread. Some great guys here, but without a doubt, also the internet's biggest collection of trolls. Always the same dudes, circling like sharks in water, becoming energized, name calling, waiting for their chance to strike....They dont really care if someone else may have interest in the thread.

Ive saved a preset. It sounds fine.....but when i leave the preset and come back to it, i get an "over modulated" chorus or excessive depth. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qszm56nlxtz5sa6/soup.mp3?dl=0 Once ive returned to the preset and am welcomed with the "over modulated chorus", by altering the predelay at all, lets say from 6.1 to 6.2 i get this. The intended target, and where ive saved the preset initially. https://www.dropbox.com/s/srkz81znkjr9ndh/souper.mp3?dl=0 SO, if i save and leave the preset, and then come back to it, i get the sound in my first link. Every time. It is not normal behavior. Just a heads up. Anyone reproduce? Here is the preset. The 5th block from the left is a redwirez IR, which im sure is unimportant to the matter (or maybe not who knows) https://www.dropbox.com/s/xpmez6p6ldfnp2r/Test%20Preset.hlx?dl=0

Yeah, alt+click allows you to enable the funtion, but once your values are set you have to reach for the mouse every time you wish to audition a different snapshot.
-
Also, often i get freezes when Ya know the one thing that about snapshots that doesnt thrill me is that its the one parameter where i HAVE to reach for the mouse. It would be nice if that were addressed. Nope because i updated in attempt of get rid of it, and it pretty much did. errr it was the last "minor" update (before this most recent) I remember because i had no reason to update, and Helix became completely unusable , and was the sole reason for my update.
-
Sounds good to me going off memory.
-
Yeah, because it probably sounds - nothing like the original recording. Though, im sure he spent the last two days tweaking, so when he gets around to posting it, should be interesting if nothing else.
-
i forgot this one and for me, it is probably the most important. Not sure whats involved in this process, but this is something that should have happened long ago.
-
There is nearly that much in the up and coming update alone, so over a year or two, something like that would be a breeze.
-
This is really where my head was when starting the thread, but between my "mis", and so many good replies, the thread took on a spirit of its own, and thats cool. A lot of my fun has been in "rediscovering" some amps i had written off in the past. Im with you on the Park model. My first tone was ok -nothing great, but the latest is quite a bit better, and very different from the first. Im finding a little deeper tone control with Helix now than what i did in my embryonic stages of use.
-
I disagree, but only because there are some real staples missing from Helix. I dont need 2 cool new amps every update, but Line 6 should want to get the real staples in the menu. Engl Powerball, Bogner Ectasy, JMP 2203, Fender Champ (for you zooey :) ) come to mind right off the bat. After 5 or 10 more total, yes i think there are many other things. An analyzer for the EQ section would be nice, the deepest level of cabinet control possible including equal attention to the mics, an acoustic sim, a couple models of great DI boxes, one or two more real strong compressor options, much better IR handling, and thats it. That would pretty much make Helix the perfect device IMO.
-
What exactly did they rip off? Line 6 sure didnt invent that floor board design. You cant really put the pedal anywhere else.... You pretty much have to have the colors to indicate where you are stepping.. The on screen GUI looks better than Helix. The screen itself is similar, but how else could you implement it? Why would you care enough to waste energy to try to make it look different? What color would you encase it in to make it visually intelligible? White? Green? Lets face it, where the two items share their biggest similarities ie. Size, shape, color, footswitch pedal and screen placement, there arent really a ton OTHER cost effective options. If the bradshaw rack (depicted above) had an on board processor and expression pedal, it would probably look similar to helix and headrush as well.
-
Troll it up. I know you cant wait. You mustve been disappointed when you found out you couldnt troll the internet with the Helix. Thanks for your attention!!
-
I might be mildly offended if you had any serious skills at all, but seeing how your biggest contribution is trolling internet forums and trying real hard to think of "cool" stuff to post, i just snicker to myself and consider the source.
-
This is nothing more than Line 6 bleeding as much money as they can out of folks. There is absolutely nothing of worth that can be done with the software that cant be done with the hardware. As much as this will de-value the hardware the software should be free for Helix owners. Try telling the ones who got a Helix for christmas that they could have had it for $1100 less and see if they think its a win win.
-
I think thats the thing right there. Im pretty sure it only does sysx files.
-
They couldnt, because that would mean they would have to sound different (better in this case) and as roscoe has noted by testing, they are identical to what they were in 2.11. No change whatsoever. I plan on updating in the next day or two, so it would be a breeze for me to do, however with your comment i cant imagine we would hear anymore "2.12 sounds way better" comments .
-
How many IRs can you mix at a time spikey? MixIR will do 6......and have you tried the standalone version of Cab-Lab yet? This is really what Helix needs. A tool for the ultimate in cab control.
-
Just the obvious stuff.
-
Well if you can repeat the issue, thats like the most important thing. Trying to get to the bottom of it would be a lot more helpful than avoiding it. I hope you told support at the very least..
-
My helix froze within the last five minutes. I too had to recycle the power switch, and I followed the instructions fully.
-
Whoa!!!! Awesome. Somebody actually took the time to do the test! I really wasnt trying to "set you straight" or anything like that. I hope it didnt come off that way. 99/100 times i would be the first to say "placebo dude" but ive had an experience with the Mandarin 80 over the last couple of days that had me thinking........ "surely they didnt update this amp and not tell anyone". I mean two months ago i was annoyed at line 6 for putting this waste of time amp into the mix, and now recently i cant get enough of it. I would be EXTREMELY disappointed to NOT have it. Ive been at this stuff a looooong time, and ive seen a looooot of things, but this is bewildering to me. So anyway, long story short, between your experience and my own, i though something was up.
-
Shane, do me a favor.... Before you do the update, record a DI track, and then re-amp it in 2.11 software with any preset or cabs you may be interested in. Then after you update to 2.12 you can re- amp it again with the exact same preset or presets and test it against the 2.11 re-amp. Basically what it boils down to is playing the two re-amped tracks at the same time and flipping the phase on one of them. If the sound cancels out and you hear nothing at all, then the sounds are the same, and the software has not changed from 2.11 to 2.12. If after youve flipped the phase and you hear anything at all, then the sounds from 2.11 HAVE in fact chaged, and are different than the sounds in 2.12. To what extent is harder to say. ....and then if you just wanna be left alone to play guitar thats cool too ;)
-
I dont ever remember the Orange sounding this good. Maybe its just the combination amp/cab, maybe its my brain, maybe its been improved in an update, but at one point i was thinking how the Mandarin 80 was useless and would probably never be touched, and now im having so much fun with it. What gives? ...and oh yeah, what are you having the most fun with lately? Im still on 2.11 BTW
