  1. Consider the man powered required and sheer amount of time to sit down and alter/address/correct every individual Variax user's right hand technique. And totally not trying to be pejorative, but personal technique issues are what guitar lessons are for. It may take some slight alteration of your right hand technique, but after checking out Stevic's videos more in depth and browsing the comments it seems like far less users are experiencing this problem with the Shuriken.
  2. Check out https://line6.ideascale.com/ end users can post and vote on ideas for products, Line 6 product managers do check out ideascale so it is the best place to get your voice heard
  3. Have you checked out the Shuriken Guitars Facebook page? Stevic has a video or two talking about palm muting, though I'm not sure how in depth these are. It also seems like he has been fairly responsive in answering people's questions, which is pretty cool considering how busy he is.

    Where is Native?

Have you tried hitting Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A and start in the editor?
  5. The G30 uses a standard 9v power supply. The Y doubler cable will just need the correct male/female ends for however you connect to the power supply.
  6. You can find the pitch bend effect in the purple color-coded "Filters, Synth, and Pitch" effects, simply titled "pitch bender". It should automatically assign to the expression pedal, unless something else is already preassigned.

    fx100

You certainly can, there's a few things to be aware of; both Classic 15 and Amplifi FX100 run amp modeling, traditionally you wouldn't want to run amp modeling on both at the same time. One option is to use FX100 for just the effects and use the amp sounds on Classic 15, option 2 is to set Classic 15 as clean and EQ flat as possible and use the amp and effects modeling in FX100.
  8. For my Moreno/Metheny modern jazz sound sound I mix 2 cabs together and usually only pan hard right and left if I actually have 2 speakers on stage. WDW works as you described two speakers with 100% effected sound and a center speaker or cab that is completely dry, lots of guys have used or tried this setup, I wouldn't be surprised if any of those players have used this setup. You can achieve WDW setups with Helix. If you want I can send you my Metheny/Moreno-esque preset, I used delays similar to the way Metheny does to get that big sound. I used this preset for a whole gig this weekend and got some good compliments on the tone. As for presets, yes, some are better than others, but most just need a little tweaking. These presets were written on a different guitar, with different pickups, in a different room, with a different player, so your experience can vary. If you pull up a classic rock preset that was written with on a vintage strat with single coils and you plug in your doom-master 3000 guitar with active pickups you may not get the best tonal experience immediately, some presets need tweaking to match your guitar, playing style, etc.
  9. Does the screen no longer function as well? I would try to return to store or get in touch with support.
  10. At least 17 other people think so! Feel free to up-vote this idea on ideascale, Line 6 Product managers do frequent ideascale so it is a good place to get your voice heard. https://line6.ideascale.com/a/idea-v2/821915
  11. Awesome to hear this type of feedback! Thanks for sharing
  12. I turned the time and feedback all the way down and experimented with the mix 50-100% and I definitely got a similar if not very similar type of coloration and thickness as I do with my EP pedal. Unfortunately, my EP pedal isn't with me currently but I'll try to AB them sometime this weekend if someone else doesn't get to it first. I'll also add that I have used the EP with Helix and it worked great, though it seems like going forward I will be able to use the transistor tape in it's place and setup one less thing.
  13. That's how I do it and it works great for me. Though I initially started out with an XLR from my L2, and that worked fine for me as well. I decided to use L6 link to the L2 and XLR to FOH because I can change my volume and not mess with the sound person.
  14. I like the Valve driver, but I use it pretty specifically with the plexi models for the soaring Eric Johnson style leads. I haven't tried it with every amp but it wasn't my favorite option when paired with the Mail Order Twin, my usal go to amp model. I usually find myself using the minotaur or 808 with fender-ish stuff.

Do you have a sound example of the tone you're going for that you could share? A youtube clip works well. From what I gathered from your post, it sounds like you are trying to add an octave bass note below chords you are playing?
  16. You can definitely use the Spider V 120 at home for bedroom practice. Like other users have mentioned, it will probably take some tweaking, but amps like this typically do anyway!
  17. Definitely worth a try! You get a lot of tonal flexibility with multiple cab and mic options (assuming you didn't use cab blocks when going out to an amp). Setting up stereo effects is always fun at home too. I'd say you owe it to yourself to hear Helix through an FRFR setup!
  18. I agree! IR's are great for expanding your tonal options and I use them myself, but sometimes people don't give the HX cabs a chance or just follow what other users do/say instead of their ears.
  19. Have you tried contacting Line 6 directly? There really isn't help on the forum for those types of situations
  20. I've plugged my Taylor into the aux input, and I'll use the studio pre in place of an amp for acoustics. Beyond that some reverb and maybe some compression and eq depending on the situation.
  21. Are you writing/testing your patches at gig level volumes? Testing your patches at those volumes before trying them out with a band is crucial. Also what sometimes works as a killer stand-alone guitar sound doesn't always play well with others, especially for more gain-y sounds. I'm not the most versed in hi-gain sounds but I tend to veer toward using the noise gate in the input block(circle) vs dropping a noise gate block in the signal chain. It sounds like you have already tried a lot, and consulted a few people. Another avenue possibly worth exploring; users constantly upload videos of themselves playing through Helix on the dedicated facebook group, both live and more "studio" situations, perhaps checking out a few to see if there's any that match the sound and style you want and reaching out and asking them to share their preset. It may also be worth it to record your rehearsals so you get an idea of how your sound blends with the band and have a better idea as to what needs to be tweaked. I've had a few occasions where I'm gigging a preset I know and love and because of my sonic vantage point in the room I'm less than thrilled with the sound I'm hearing, but when I listen back to recordings of the show I'm completely blown away by the tone.
  22. Do you re-sync the transmitter each time you go to play? Also are there any wifi spots nearby?
  23. Yep, the laptop is there just to run the powerpoint. All the changes you heard were done on Helix LT. Thanks for coming out!
  24. Can you repost the link, doesn't seem like it is working.
