Personally, I really enjoy the modulation effects, and typically get a lot of compliments on their sound. The modulations can have a lot depth and don't sound cheesy too me. I really like tape-echo style delays and I enjoy the ones in Helix. There's quite a few others I really enjoy; I myself don't usually go for super pristine, clear delay repeats, I like the "darker" delay sounds.

Both of these ideas are currently up on ideascale, feel free to up-vote them https://line6.ideascale.com/a/idea-v2/811743 https://line6.ideascale.com/a/idea-v2/896204

The Spider V 30 does not have the built in 60 second looper. The looper is in the Spider V 60 and above. The looper is one track that you can overdub as many times as you like. You can use looper while the drum tracks are playing.

POD X3 has 28 bass amp and 22 bass cabinet models. I believe Helix currently has 12 bass and 8 bass cabinet models. A nice thing about Helix is that new amps/effects are added with each update so expect that number to grow, the dark glass preamp alone is one of my favorite bass additions. Helix is definitely beyond X3 in terms of sound and UI. The octaver works fairly well in Helix, I have seen some users have problems when using it to simulate detuning their instrument, say down a half step, but this problem is only apparent with chords. The synths work pretty well, I haven't experimented with bass and synth effects as much as I have guitar, but I've been able to get a variety of good synthy sounds and I feel it could definitely replace your supersynth.

I don't own an Amplifi FX100 but I believe like most Line 6 products the expression pedal can be adjusted with an Allen key. There should be a hole on the right side of the unit where you can adjust.

The apps' look and function are fairly similar but each app is product specific; the Amplifi app will only work with Amplifi amps and Spider Remote will only work with Spider V amps. Some Android users require an OTG adapter to connect to their Spider V.

I personally am not familiar with magnetic lightning cables, but I now know they exist! I use the standard cable that came with my apple device or a third party lightning cable without problem (non-magnetic). Assuming the magnetic version functions exactly the same as the non-magnetic, I would wager it works with Spider V.

Sounds like it could have been the tablet if you got the app open. To access amp controls you simply tap on the amp icon. The firmware update is for amp the itself, did you try to update and perhaps interrupt the process causing something to crash? Keep in mind, yes there are users who post on here experiencing issues with app, but the majority don't and for that reason don't find themselves on this forum.

It is possible to run Helix into Spider V with all the modeling in Spider V turned off. Or plug into the 1/8th aux input in back to bypass modeling. If you want to see some other users' experience with Helix+Spider V there have been a few threads on the subject. http://line6.com/support/topic/25314-curioussince-the-new-spider-v-has-a-frfr-speaker/ http://line6.com/support/topic/24277-helix-into-spider-v/

Yes this is possible. You can use the guitar input and the effects loop for additional inputs. From there it would be possible to build a preset where the expression pedal is used to blend the signals.

No problems on my end!

Like with any modeling unit presets will take tweaking. Consider that whomever made the preset probably has a different playing style, used a different guitar, with different pickups, out of a different sound source, in a different room. They do take a bit of tweaking, which is no different than sitting down in front of a physical amp and pedalboard you plan to take for a test drive.

I would definitely start by making sure the firmware is up to date on both units. I know there was an update for FBV3 early on that may solve your problem

How do you move Amplifi Presets (all banks) to Spider V?w
ADBrown replied to AdInfinitum's topic in Spider V
I have found that whatever I save to my tones in the Amplifi app will appear in my tones in the Spider remote app. Seems like you will have to upload to my tones one at a time. -
Checked and found the same thing. Not sure why the change was made. There was a small rash of "guest user" posts for awhile that were basically incoherent spam. Maybe this was done to curb stuff spambots and the like.

Any confirmation of release date for Helix Native?
ADBrown replied to GazzaBloom's topic in Helix Native
Model packs etc. are software so there really isn't excess inventory per say ;) -

If you check the thread "Where is Native?" DI posted what you might consider news -
I would say the firmware updates have made improvements to the previous amp models. Line 6 never says what exactly is improved, I'm guessing small adjustments/refinements and maybe trying to use less DSP. One of my favorite amps in Helix and the physical world is a twin, at first I thought the twin in Helix was good but not great; but an update or two back it just really came to life and it was a definite "wow" moment for me. There's a lot of presets floating around out there. Just to provide some different ideas other than what has been said; a lot of users post clips of their tones on the FB group and most are willing to share, so if you hear something you like that could be a good place to start. On the Helix Facebook user group there's also a link to a bunch of free IR's, not sure on the quality but I'm sure there are some good ones. It's definitely worth checking out the stock cabs/mic options in Helix though, there's a lot of flexibility there, and the helix cabs do sound great. The free Allure pack previously mentioned is also good.

All Variax guitars have the same modeling technology in them, so they will all have the Rickenbacker models. The quality of the guitar determines the price. The standard is the cheapest model. I'm not sure how you want to incorporate Variax with your current setup but you are able to use either the magnetic pickups or modeling out through the 1/4" to your wah+amp.
-
You can plug another instrument in through the aux in on the back of the amp. Plugging into the aux in will bypass all modeling.
-
As other users have mentioned, getting yourself a FRFR speaker is the best option to plug your Helix into. I've had to use a keyboard amp (Roland KC-150) before for a rehearsal and it did sound decent, but FRFR is the best option by far.
-
I tried this on my V60 and found you can't use a G10t and a 1/4" cable into the input jack simultaneously.
-
The easiest option would be to use Reference/P.A. mode. I use a L2t myself and keep it in Ref/PA mode and just have presets setup for whether I'm playing electric or acoustic. I believe the PODHD500X will remember which mode the L2t was in when you save the preset. So if you save a preset in electric guitar mode and save a preset in a acoustic mode it should change modes when you change presets.

If you check out the Shurkien guitars FB page there are user anecdotes of people switching from the JTVs to the Shuriken and not experiencing this problem. It seems like the new bridge design and scale length have really helped. I'm not trying to say this problem is nonexistent for some users, but I've been reading responses from users and there has been a lot of positive feedback. Usually one finds problems pouring out of the woodwork before accolades, and I've found a decent amount of praise for the Shuriken. Of course, there are more JTV's out there, but that doesn't diminish from the positive Shuriken reports.
