Good advice from Geeman but also, when you have the Helix inverted and the footswitch pcb off, DO NOT turn the Helix the right way up or you will spend the next few hours searching for 12 tiny springs and plungers (the first 11 were easy)!
-
Can you tell that I'm not a connoisseur of fuzz? :-)
-
Sorry I dived in a bit quick there, I've seen people ask about changing the actual footswitch before. The one that madmax linked looks correct.
-
The legacy pedals have been unchanged for a while, do you mean the HM-2 by any chance? Distortion > Swedish Chainsaw (Mono, Stereo), based on* the BOSS® HM-2 Heavy Metal Distortion (Made in Japan black label)
-
Well they're not actually switches, they're a plunger assembly that operates a switch mounted on the pcb. It's more likely to be the pcb switch or it's solder connections that's at fault.
-
It doesn't light in normal operation but it does under LED test :-)
-
Holding down footswitch 2 while you power up will take you into LED test mode.
-
I just had a thought that you probably won't be able to select UI test because you need to push the joystick to do that. That still proves the point though.
-
This sounds like a badly timed hardware fault to me. To prove it start your Helix in test mode with FW 3&4 held down. Select UI Test Turn the Joystick - ENCJ value should change Move the Joystick - JOY U D L R should go green Press The Joystick - ECCJ should go green. I had a similar problem with mine but I lost the rotation.
-
Well it's easy enough to do and might solve your problem.
-
Reversing the connection on a signal cable will just short out the signal and leave you with nothing, reversing a speaker cable should do the trick. Have you tried going into both amps through a splitter or an A-B-Y box just to prove that is the problem? Maybe check your speaker cables to make sure one's not reversed already too.
-
That's what it says, you have to enable it in globals though.
-
There's a load of identical posts on the forum already. You need to update HX Edit too.
-
It seems like a lot of companies screwed up, tut tut Steinberg :-)
-
It's capable of some good Neil Young if you overdrive it too!
-
Do you mean that they're not there in he Helix or in HX Edit?

Many of the presets in Factory 1 have been reworked even if the names haven't been changed. If you prefer the old one then just stick with that one
-
Best I can suggest is trying these reset options first. HX Stomp 1. All 3 Footswitches clears all presets/IRs 2. FS1+2 resets presets and IRs 3. FS 2+3 does a factory restore (globals, presets, IRs) 4. Pressing and Holding down the "Page >" Button while powering up will put the HX Stomp into update mode. This update mode is helpful if the update is interrupted, and the HX Stomp will not boot properly. You will see a blank screen (no visual feedback on the display). 5. While holding both the Upper and Lower Knobs, turn on HX Stomp. Wait for "Will rebuild Presets..." to appear and let go. - This will rebuild presets manually. Make sure to always update to the latest firmware using Line 6 Updater.
-
Use the Line6 Updater instead.
-
It sets the input impedances to that of the first active block, so if that first block is a fuzz the impedance will be low when it's on and higher when bypassed. It more reflects how a real board would work.
-
If you save your delay as a favourite, when you add that favourite to a preset it will take the favourite's name.

Line 6 Helix LT stuck after update from 2.92 to 3.0

Have you tried using the Line 6 Updater to do it instead? -
Yeay, real actual news :-)

Why can’t we copy real amp and gear settings to the helix?
CraigGT replied to willyjacksonjs22's topic in Helix
No, I didn't hear much for days :-) -
Using a foot switch as an indicator “on-off “ status?
CraigGT replied to bartpuglise's topic in Helix
I tried that but the footswitch overrides the pedal switch.
